With most games not supporting FBT, (vrc and now zeith being exceptions) what would it take for both game devs and players to get FBT into more games? I could see a standard for full body IK being stuffed into OpenXR, that way games wouldnt need to find ways to fuck up their implementation of fullbody. From their they could apply their own code to fit avatars to that OpenXR IK standard. As far as features that could be used with FBT, I think that there are a few obvious ones that would be useful. Door kicking, inventory/ plate carriers are the who main ones that i can think of(aside from general social body language). But i think there are more subtle things that would work when we finally get FBT in more games. Things like pushing the drawer back with your waist or foot or leg. bumping things with your elbow. ladders that dont suck(maybe), Mounting and dismounting vehicles could work(if you have some playspace). What features would you like to see games use will FBT?

starting this off by stating, don't buy this shit. it's very obvious that this is not a consumer product yet and was rushed. the stock comfort is really good for about a half hour and then becomes a mess of pressure points on your forehead. the best part currently are the lenses, everything is clear all the time and it does make the lower resolution of the panels obvious. audio is surprisingly good, although using headphones can also double to increase comfort as it will spread out the weight a bit more. tracking is good, on rare occasions it will break synch and be a foot in front of the controller. the full light blocker came in yesterday, some have said that light leaked through the nose space for them but i guess i have a big enough gaijin nose that it isn't an issue. after modding it's become a comfy pillow on my head, really starting to feel more like a helmet than just a headset at this point

Apply transform zeros out all the position/scale/rotation values, while keeping everything in the same position. After this none of your meshes will have weird/negative scales, and your model's origin will be 0,0,0, with a scale of 1,1,1.
Blender is also weird and negatively scaled objects won't have their normals inverted until they are either exported or transform ( scale ) is applied, so doing this lets you check for that ( overlay - face orientation ). Scale is the most important thing to apply, position and rotation less so. Also do the armature.
When you merge a mesh into another one, this is done automatically, so it shouldn't really be a problem. Good idea to Apply transform on the final merged mesh and check for issues like normals being weird though.
The meshes in your avatar having a scale of 15-30 instead of 1 once imported to unity is caused by "Apply scalings" being set to "All local" in the FBX export transform tab. Set it to "FBX All" instead, but do keep in mind that if you already have your avatar set up in unity, changing this after the fact will make unity shit itself.
Physbones values still have to be tiny, but slightly less tiny. I don't know what's up with that.
While we're at it, also disable "Leaf bones" during export; you never want them.
Remember to backup your unity project if you've got one; it's very easy to break everything.
