upgrading to wifi 6 might not actually fix your issues, it sounds like you've just got overcrowded wifi channels. regardless of what you end up getting you're probably going to want to keep one band dedicated dedicated to (what I presume) is your headset using wireless. I use an ASUS RT-AC5300 and keep the majority of the devices on the 2.5 band, my roomates wireless stuff one of the 5 bands and the headset on the second 5 band all alone. There seems to be almost no noticeable pattern or trigger to it, and as far as I can tell its a problem exclusive to VRChat that I don't have in any other game. And sometimes it seems to fix itself for seemingly no reason at all. I've been playing it for months and I genuinely can't find any pattern or correlation as to why this shit happens. I've reinstalled VRChat more than once. When it works, its great, when it doesn't, its fucking unplayable. Google is absolutely no help whatsoever, unsurprisingly.

The 10fps bug has been getting worse and worse again every update. The last update I was stuck in 10fps every 6/7 launches until I restarted my PC. If you haven’t restarted PC since last update you could try that it could be due to some new allocation with EAC etc.
The main way to break out of 10fps bug is by entering and exiting steamvr menu repeatedly till it fixes but for me when I was 10fps on launch last weekend this did not work. 10fps is caused by render resolution drop in steamvr followed by return to normal resolution and gpu resources failing to be reallocated. According to the VRChat devs it is a steamvr bug (only happens on VRChat but is definitely valve’s fault and not theirs jej)
10fps bug is coming back worse and worse for me the last few months and I have pretty good PC - 5800x3d, 3080 12g and enthusiast SKU RAM

You're running out of vram, drops you from smooth whatever to a handful of frames per second no matter what you're doing.
With the mere 8gb a 2080s has it's going to be a very common occurrence.
Opening the steam overlay lowers the game resolution to half, thus greatly reducing vram usage, temporarily "fixing" the issue.
It will often also "cause" the issue, because other vram starved processes will jump at the opportunity to eat some more, so when you exit the overlay there won't be enough to satisfy it and you get your stutterfest.

Run an air conditioner or anything else that can generate white noise while you're ERPing.

You can't soundproof your room, that's impossible, but you CAN greatly reduce the leakage this way and make it hard for anyone to know what's going on in your room without having to stand right next to your door and eavesdrop, unless you're really loud or high pitched.
