I wanted to have a conversation about character design. Those of you who do churn out outfits from time to time, where do you get inspiration?
I get most of my inspiration from following anime artists and vrchat people on twitter and taking ideas from there.
How about assets? I feel like I used to find pretty good stuff on deviantart but that it's dried up quite a bit there. For casual stuff I think booth is decent, but decent non-casual stuff feels harder and harder to find these days. I have a couple of google docs and discord channels that I watch for assets, but I feel like in general there's less asset variety than there was a couple of years ago.

I'm curious to hear about where people get their ideas/assets since writer's block is usually the biggest obstacle to me pumping out new stuff.

Second, I make sure I play other, actual videogames and revisit what I like for ideas. If the videogame has a good character, sometimes I wanna dress up as that character. It just then lets me talk about how cool thing I like is to people who might be interested.

If you're going through other boothcords or whatever, don't do it based on what comes out for your body. The honest answer is either learning to slowly make shit yourself or smash shit on for other bodies to get the look you want, since it's really not hard to do. Using shit that's premade is exactly how you fall into the same trap of looking like every other pantshitter.

Also, I haven't done it in a while since laziness and also out of personal inspiration, but I'd also look for "What can I learn/practice if I did X" and sorted like that.

Hey guys. I just got my headset today. I spent about 6 hours in total (with breaks ofc) playing a bunch of different stuff. Lots of tech demos and little fun games I tried, but none of them struck me as something that wasn't novelty. Like rock climbing, flying through space, this weird shooting range game.

Games I'm already interested in based off demos or what I've seen on youtube is Beat Saber and Super Hot. They both seem like games I could boot up and play for a couple hours and have fun. Got any other good reccs? Im not really interested in straight horror like psychological or jumpscare. I can play a resident evil or dead space because I can fight back. I feel like it might be fun to play something like mirrors edge or another platformer.

It took about 3 weeks to a month to get my shit from China when I ordered, and cost total around $100.
I had 0 soldering experience and bought a 10 dollar soldering kit off Amazon and managed to build 5 full trackers +3 axillary for foot rotation and chest tracking.
Their website is full of documentation needed for the build, but you'll also need to join their furry infested discord for issues that aren't documented (Like my IMU + firmware combo requiring the IMU to be in a completely different rotation than what's documented on the website).
