Getting Dirt Rally 2 going again with a new club. Starting off with a relatively easy class, H1 FWD cars in New England.
For anyone that hasn't done this before, all you have to do is join the club and do a run at some point before the event ends. Your times go on a leaderboard with everyone else that ran it.
I'm thinking of setting a night where anyone that's interested can hop in and run at the same time, but this first one is just to test things out.
First event will be a little longer, but I'm planning on switching to week long events starting on Mondays after this one unless anyone has any other suggestions.

The index has a headphone jack, yes. But with the default face gasket it can be a bit finicky for bigger plugs to fit, so get a smaller cable.
If you can find low-latency wireless headphones (so NOT bluetooth), I think that might be a better option as you don't have to fiddle with extra cables. Sennheiser has a few good ones that have like a station you plug into your PC.

If you gently pull off the face gasket, you should find a headphone jack next to the regular cable.
There is also a more easily reachable USB port in the front if you gently pull the glass visor thingy off. But frankly all of that is a hassle and you are better off using good wireless headphones/earbuds that directly go into your PC.

I fell asleep this week too, not really even meaning to. I was trying to stay up for the Kikyo meetup but ended up being an hour late due to oversleeping. It was a long week and I was tired and if you fall asleep and get comfortable you'll fall asleep pretty easily.
The most conducive thing to sleep is comfort, I think. I don't think you'll be able to fall asleep unless you've optimized your setup for comfort.

My LcdDem world is probably gonna be ready in a few days since it's one of the smaller maps from the main game, but I liked how close I managed to replicate it from the real thing.

I want to encourage other people to post their avatars. Avatar creation (and world creation) are both interesting and they're also things better done with collaboration from other people. You can both find inspiration and learn blender tricks and tips from other people.
During this thread's best days, people posted their avatars and their work in blender without many reservations.

I hope that by posting mine, other people will be encouraged to start posting their work, too.

Depends on what you mean. My main goal is to drag thread culture back to where I want it to be, with people being more free to post their avatars and their blender work.
I know a lot of people who used to post here but don't anymore because the "thread sucks".
Part of that is posting my own stuff and ignoring the shitposting to break that wall back down because fear of being shitposted or called an attention whore is what keeps a lot from posting.

I'm also planning to run a few avatar events over the spring/summer to encourage people to get back into blender and get excited about avatar work again.
I think one of the reasons we have so many blenderlets lately is because we don't really talk about avatar creation anymore.

Exactly. Good stuff on that. I'd be posting more avatars as well but I haven't really been working on an avatar in what feels like a year.
Too busy making maps. And posting too many map progress reduces the impact of the actual event.
Other than that it has all been just the usual exploration stuff.

Sameface is very real, but it's not like today's situation is worse than how it was back then. The first few popular booths like mishe and mimino got overused and ran into the fucking ground, other than that nothing changed.
Back in the MMD days it wasn't much different. Sure we had a bit more soul back then... but you couldn't round a single corner without running into about 8 of pic related, or the same 5 vocaloids.
Shading was also super uninteresting back then because the only decent thing we had was Cubed's Flat Lit Toon.

Most of the reason we didnt post selfies and a lot of pictures is because 4chan culture and also the fact that you'd be attacked by certain schizos in the thread if you posted them.
