If image in the headset looks blurry but fine on the monitor, increase your rendering resolution!
If you start to feel sick when playing, stop and have a rest. You'll get your VR legs eventually, just don't push it.

Hey, i'm not complaining.
I've got a friend who's still learning the game, so i'd love to teach him from the backseat like that-- and playing WSO for the more competent people i know could be VERY fun.
>>422103205
I mean, i'm not complaining, it's still a new plane and you'll probably able to do 2 seater kino anyway so that's cool. But i'm really curious about the electronic warfare plane.
>>422103540
...The what? Also, i'm REALLY hyped for the skins/liveries support, i make textures for games that have similar features so i'd *love* to do some for this.
>>422105052
I don't know much about electronic warfare but it's stuff like jamming radars and shit basically.
>>422105734
I wasn't aware of that! Hopefully it's a big player-awacs sort of planethat doubles as a bomber for all my dead civilian needs
my index is having some white sparkles appear on screen, its very minor but slowly growing. it only really seeable in black rooms right now.
What do I do to fix this? I can't RMA to Steam Support, I've had device for 2 years now
rip cable
Time to play some more Fallout. I love the night atmosphere in the game but at the same time it's annoying how I'll walk right into a group of mutants or children of atom and get instantly killed if I'm not careful.
Is this old news? PSVR2 is usable on PC. Could valve add support for it in steam VR?

>>422121838
It's theater mode. Exactly the same as psvr1.
The hard part would be implementing inside out tracking.
ded
>>422112853
get a new cable
>get one of those Bobo VR replacement straps
>still uncomfy
What now? One of their battery packs for counterweight?
>>422144024
Should have got a DAS
>>422112853
Time to pay 130 bucks for a new cable because Valve built the headset wrong on purpose. My first DAY of using Index, I noticed the cable strain issue. The only way to avoid it is to fuck up the strap mechanism instead, by fully lengthening it to get your head into the headset without pushing the back up at all, then tightening it to wear it. Anything else abrades the cable near to the HMD port.
Oh, and this cable is a totally custom one off piece of bullshit which will never be made by any other company, so when Valve stop making replacement parts in a couple of years, all Indexes will fall apart.
>>422144024
the counterweight is like 90% of what fixes the discomfort
I have the bobo strap and if I don't put the battery on my head begins to hurt
>>422118594
for some reason I keep getting this shit on my save file after a certain point so I had to rollback to a save from 2 hours ago
at least most of that time was spent running back and forth looking for some guy I had to kill in a giant building
>>422158639
Is it really heavy enough to balance the headset? Looks pretty small...
>>422168675
you don't need to balance it
already dead...
>>422121838
>PSVR2 is usable on PC

its my 2nd most play vr game. ive never play it flat. amazing mod
whats the deal with minecraft vr, can i play it with technic modpack or something
>>422263218
theres a java version by a modder that you can play with any mod you want and there's also an official vr for the non-java version but idk about that one
I'm expecting tabor release to go something like this
>just as buggy and unfinished as it is now
>devs take their 5 day long vacation/party right on launch and don't address any of the standing bugs
>friends can't play with each other because of ping limit and drop it
>vrg(g) gets few posts/lobbies for the above reason
>people that can play see the jank and drop it
>people new to the genre die once and drop it
>everyone else gets filtered by the shit tutorials, vendor system, and ui and drops it
>within the first week player count is too low to find a full server for anything other than us west/east at peak times
>first month the sparsely used servers elsewhere in the world are culled to save costs on the flopping game
>ping limit not removed despite this so 3/4 the planet can't play at all
finally got thermal vision
on one hand it's extremely easy to travel in the night now, on the other hand, seeing red lightbulbs from 100 feet away before they even aggro takes some of the fun out of it
>>422275319
nevermind, I just got ambushed by a bunch of synths who teleported around me while invisible and murdered the shit out of me
likely getting an Amid Evil VR announcement tomorrow
that's pretty cool
>>422268684
I'm expecting tabor release to go something like this:
>game comes out
>5 people play it and spend all their time moaning about it
>in a week it is forgotten and added to the pile of shit games retards occasionally spout as proof that VR isn't dead
>>422290050
tarkoom autists are preordering the 50 dollar edition by hundreds devs already made cash now they can just let it rot
>>422275319
>>422282868

fallout 4 i think
>>422295521

>>422289601
Never played but that sounds like it could be great.
>>422268684
The controls and pouch system filtered me, I doubt I'm going to give the game another try.
I don't play Tarkov, but I get the feeling that there's probably mods for Contractors or Pavlov that take the same idea and implement it better than this game.
>>422298662
even with all the jank and crashing, I'm having a great time
hope dlaa support comes soon
>>422300770
Obtuse, slow and rage inducing inventory is staple of Tarkov, along with high TTK, terrible bullet drop and armor penetration mechanics, RNG and AI that onetaps you from across map. It's misery and suffering simulator with obligatory gear treadmill and terrible progression where max level players can carry around half a ton of shit while jumping and running faster than Doomguy. In that regard Tabor does everything it can to be just as terrible because that's exactly what Tarkov addicts want - exactly the same broken, unbalanced, RNG and cheater ridden garbage but VR. People that want good VR shooter are not the target audience.
page 10
>>422307205
It also completely fucks your screen with visual effects so non-onesided firefights turn your view into a blurry mess. I'd imagine the only reason Tabor didn't copy it is because the Quest version can't handle them.
Anything interesting in the sale?
>>422324174
Yeah. Your steam flatscreen backlog.
>>422221024
No screenshot, but went to plains today
Fuck goblins and fuck mosquitos. I can tank them since i'm geared after playing flatscreen with friend, but they are circling between attacks and it's really shitty in VR
>>422307205
KEK accurate
I'm going to try space engine on VR, I heard it can feel pretty intense if you go near some weird shit like black holes or neutron stars
>>422332732
Is it like flying around, does their gravity suck you in or something?
>>422332920
I mean on flatscreen some people get space fear so probably some combination of thalassophobia and that
>>422263218

Good.
>play your average Light Brigade run
>mfw afucking lanky demon crawls out of the exit gate and starts blasting my ass with lasers
>beat outer wilds vr almost two years ago
>all games since then still pale in comparison
it's over
Breachers got an April 13th release date. Hope it survives a paid release because it's my favorite VR multiplayer shooter so far.
>>422378312
Firmament is coming out in May. Got a lot riding on it but Cyan's older adventure games were in many ways way more sophisticated than Outer Wilds. If you haven't played Riven before, that's also getting a remake at some point and that's guaranteed to be more of what you crave.
Release it already bahafag
>>422358524
But I don't want it to be dead.
>>422300770
No built in drop pouch or pre-made vests was a fucking mistake.
>>422395282
Or how about just a fucking pocket, shit makes no sense.
>>422304363
Same. DLAA for Skyrim has been a miracle. Fallout 4's main issue is the shimmering and performance, so decent AA to replace that awful TAA shit will help. Somehow random modders are more capable of adding DLAA to VR games than actual devs which is sad.
>think im gonna have to fight some psycho serial killer
>he ends up being a cool guy with a moral code who gives me a unique weapon
>>422382009
Aren't those Myst type games kinda crap in VR though, I've not tried them myself but I've heard the amount of walking back and forth you need to do in these games kinda sucks in VR.
>>422403924
Tahrovin runs like absolute shit for me, so I should probably make my own mod list with no stupid 4k texture replacements, but holy fuck, I don't want to at all.
>>422424595
I'd agree with this. Myst is the kind of game where you want to write down notes and sit back and think about the puzzles for a while, if they haven't dumbed it down immensely it'll just be annoying in VR.
>>422425243
4k is almost required in VR. I can't stand looking at blurry textures when I'm standing 1 foot away from it.
>>422424595
I think Myst type games are great in VR. Because most of what you're doing is walking around and looking at stuff, which is what VR excels at. The only one that got annoying to me was Obduction, which had extremely repetitive puzzles that involved walking back and forth pulling a lever repeatedly. But adventure games are some of my favorite VR games.
>>422425243
In practice 99% of notes can be replaced by the screenshot button.
Anyone get killed by "nothing" is ghosts of tabor? Just lost a great run 5 meters from the exfil when it seemed either an explosion or person set of a gun in front of my face.
>>422430515
I barely played it but it was shockingly easy to ND yourself on Index controllers because the control scheme is stupid and the grip sensitivity was out of control.
hardcore modo minecraft is pretty fun
1.12.2 seems to have best mod compatibility for a tekkit like modlist
Half-Life 2 EP 1 VR mod's coming out in an hour. Looking forward to replaying the only Half-Life 2 game without an extended vehicle section.
>>422430515
There's minefields, watch out for the tables.
There was more than one Half Life 2?
Saints and Sinners Chapter 2 runs at 90hz on PSVR2. About damn time these fag vr devs put in the same optimization efforts as they do for quest ports.
>>422451398
It's basically a last gen game. It should be running at 120Hz native. Also Sony trying to get away with 60 reprojected to 120 as standard seems ridiculous to me.
>>422448484
Where've you been the past two decades?
>>422453182
i played through half life 1 but only a bit of half life 2 when it came out
gaming kinda died for me back in the mid 2000s
>>422458861
Dang you've missed out on a lot then. Because a lot of the titles that came out in that period became cultural touchstones that we haven't moved past because video games suck now.
Why did zenith flop so bad? Actually why do all VR mmos seem to flop?
>>422459343
Because nobody wants to sit around with a headset on for 16 hours a day? Who ever heard of an MMO you play for an hour or two a day, sometimes?
>>422459251
yeah, DRM killing off used PC gaming kinda soured me on the whole business
I did play Skyrim but it wasn't very good and that made me sad
at least we have indies now
>>422263218
>>422339019
VR Minecraft + mine in abyss is such a kino pairing that I have to recommend it
>>422459343
Because MMOs are fucking awful so the way people actually "play" them is to have a second monitor or be alt-tabbed and do other shit while they wait around for the opportunity to have the chance at the possibility of having potential fun in the future maybe. You can't do that in VR when it's actively trying to engage your senses so traditional MMO gameplay doesn't work.
>>422459343
I like Zenith but it tries too hard to copy flat MMOs
>Soulless art style and setting (generic and poorly delivered lore included)
>Recycles assets so heavily it feels like an asset flip
>Shallow combat and skill variety
>Garbage tier MMO quests
>Very few character customization and cosmetic gear options
>Useless (cooking) or grindy (summoning) non-combat activities
It failed to properly cater to any type of MMO player. Perhaps the worst of all
>Seasonal events are extremely grindy
Anyone who does return is immediately turned off. Grind is tolerable on desktop when you can alt+tab, in VR I'll just go play another game. The open world theme park MMO just doesn't work well in VR and Zenith had poor execution on top of that.
>>422464298
Copying flat games is a real problem for vr games.
Getting hugged by Alyx made me feel something.
>>422465019
I think that certain genres can have this done quite well. FPS is something I think translates ludicrously well into VR when it comes to fundamental and core mechanics.
MMOs are absolutely fucked for VR implementations though, the other anon is right. Not only is it physically more tiring to play VR games, the level of commitment most MMO style games require is absurd for VR. I prefer playing VR over flat games and will even do it on a fucking Kat Walk, but even I don't want to play the MMO grind for 4 hours a day. The aspect of busywork and how bad the boring grinding is gets magnified x10 in VR.
vr mmos are fine, we just need to bring back the early 2000s concept of mmos and not this hellscape of pay to win gacha shit
>>422470609
That might lead to good games but like those old MMOs, it probably wouldn't lead to commercial success.
>>422470887
good games will eventually profit
>>422471495
Only if they have an install base to sell to. And VR just isn't there when it comes to high spec games. PSVR2 may potentially change that, as even if it's clearly a bit lacking in power it's still a world ahead of the fucking mobile chip on the Quest 2 that everyone's developing around now.
>>422471968
low spec games can look good too. zenith is some uninspired trash designed to appeal to the masses and blatantly copies genshin graphics, who copied from botw. but these are huge companies who know their fanbase and what they can afford to do.
>>422459343
>>422464298
I still find it bizarre that two shitty nodevs got MILLIONS in investments to make VRMMO in Unity engine just because their SAO pandering got actual NPCs overhyped
>>422474394
Dope.
>>422471968
When do we get numbers on how PSVR2 is doing?
>>422474394
Surprised they aren't doing PSVR2, seems like a good choice for sales early on, lots of kids who don't have much else to choose from.
I don't know how well the throwing stuff will work in VR. I hate throwing shit, I hope there's a simpler method for it.
Does /vrgg/ still do the Assetto races? Picked up the game since it was on sale, and busted out my wheel for it. I looked at the guide on OP and the MEGA link is dead. I suck ass at it though. Still getting a feel for what assists to use/not use and not trying to drift while breaking ahead for a turn.
>>422479652
Just drive around SRP until you know all the turns and you win every impromptu street race. Don't pick the S2k though, that's my crutch and I don't want to switch to Silvia or the MR2.
does walkabout mini golf vr have cross save for steam/quest or do i have to collect everything a 2nd time, which doesnt sound too bad to do
>>422365417
you can quickly run away and fuck it up from afar
the real problem is getting 2 of those spawn immediately near the entrance to the level so you have no space to maneuver and basically have to kill them as fast as you can before you die.
>a lot of PSVR2 reviews complain about the image 'doubling' for titles that run 60fps->120hz interpolated
Anyone that owns a PSVR2 here? I'm curious if Sony isn't doing their own version of ASW/timewarp/etc, since I rare saw any image doubling on my old Rift CV1 here which capped at 45fps for the games it couldn't do the full 90hz on.
>>422469730
Any fps game that copies its flat counterpart by adding a cone of random spread from the muzzle of the gun or adds some "weight" (eg makes the guns sloppy and slow to move when it's heavy) is just terrible. That is something that simply does not translate well to vrfps but is a standard in flat games.
You are right about mmos though. Those games are often menu or hotkey heavy and glorified chat rooms. VRC is unironically the only good vrmmo because it embraces the end game fashion and chatroom experience without bothering to offer a game. Township tale managed to make the busywork of crafting engaging and utilises the vr controls well. Damn shame about everything else in that game though.
>>422477085
>numbers on how PSVR2 is doing?
Probably one year after its release. Just a guess though.
>>422433098
Ive had a few NDs that got me rushed by scavs. Pretty funny but my SKS was lowered and pointed away.

>>422488635
I just got out of a game; scavved a galil and mag sight but got domed by an AK. Good luck saint, enjoy the gun.
This game got soul, but it's fucking shit.
>>422481293
No Steam/Quest cross saves. The Rift version might have it.
Was going to do another Skyrim VR playthrough, and figured several, if not most of the mods I had installed had gotten upgrades, but rather than try to look them up individually, I was going to look up the WJ modlist I downloaded like three years ago. However, the modlist I was using, UVRE, doesn't seem to exist anymore. I don't really want to go through the hassle of getting another modlist, so is there an easy way to update mods using MO2?
autistic essay because bored and actually wondering what's going on
>Beat Saber official content is just some shit music pack nobody asked for a couple times a year and while modding is the real game, still is built off of mechanics that could've been added to the game instead; non-cosmetics being slapjobs of what a company could do (even with mods I don't know how it hasn't occurred to them to sell cosmetics)
>Pavlov hasn't had an update for about a year and a half, and is actively withholding existing content for PSniggers still
>I'd complain about VTOL but after picking up DCS I'm pretty much done with it anyway, the interactions with not-HOTAS stuff is nice though
>Random other popular games are basically in permanent alpha testing (or "early access") while de facto being released and neglected
>98% games might as well be literal who indie garbage buried deep in Steam catalogues
>Insert further bitching
I swear every game I liked basically had its devs fuck off entirely while 99% of VR is either a bad ripoff of another game, extremely repetitive and lacking in content, broken or often all three. Even the big online games besides Beat Saber are bleeding players hard. I get why big companies don't want to bother with VR support right now but Valve specifically already has gotten into VR and did nothing besides not-HL3 and an overpriced headset while they have the perfect franchises for VR including the dead ones. Pavlov already pulled off CS and somewhat GMOD extremely well
I guess my point is when is this shit going to be taken seriously and not just a janky indie-tier marketplace of "we'll finish it later, maybe"seriously though putting aside it's like roblox made of playdough, VTOL's new plane (over a year after a helicopter that has to have missions designed for it and can't really be used with planes, and nobody does helicopter things because there's no free one) even compared to older vehicles is like a shitty mod
>>422518491
Actually on the DCS note a lot of the good VR games are really just VR versions of existing games anyway, but like the real games, not "why would you buy that game when you can buy this ripoff that's worse in every way"
>existing content for PSniggers still
Because of them*
>>422518146
if you still have the meta data then it straight up tells you which mods are outdated
>>422519718
I don't I have that.
On a semi-related note, I'm playing Enderal VR, and in the Powder Desert area, there's a weird issue with the exterior lighting. It's like everything goes pitch black, but then the game cranks the gamma all the way up. It's only happening outdoors, but it's at all times of the day. If I fast travel away to a foresty area, then come back to the desert, the issue is fixed, but only temporarily. The entire scene switches, and it becomes impossible to see again. I don't think it's just the gamma that gets fucked, but also the color tint, since my menus, which are normally that off-white papyrus color, turns pale blue at night, and bright yellow during the day, but still really hard to read, again, like the gamma got cranked up. I have no earthly idea what the issue could be, so I can't even begin to diagnose it.
Are the $300 reverb g2s gone forever?
>>422523754
It wasn't as good a deal as it seemed at first. It was only the HMD without controllers, and headset was refurbished. Personally, I wouldn't buy anything used that goes on your face.
>>422526205
I've bought all my headsets used, and the prices have been great. Got a Vive for 300 bucks back in the day, got an Index recently for 300 bucks because you can just resell the newer lighthouses for an easy 300.
I don't know why anyone buys new, honestly. Most headsets are barely used, mine came with 3 spare face gaskets. The biggest problem is even driving them, I have a mid-range rig and going over 90hz on the Index is a struggle at times. What's the point in buying the latest headset when you need a 3k rig to run it?
>>422526205
I got one for 300 direct from hp and it was new with controllers
>>422528169
That is, or I guess was, a really good deal. The only time it was that cheap that I was aware of was from the American store Target, and like I said, they were refurbished and HMD only.
>bought Assetto Corsa without DLCs a while ago
How fucked i am? I've just read that it seems like mods do need DLCs for some reason
I never launched it despite buying 1.5 years ago, i wonder if i can try to refund it through support explaining that i can't buy Ultimate bundle now
>>422537978
either buy the dlc separatly as it is also on sale (I did that a while ago) or remove the game from your account and buy the ultimate edition. Refunding won't work, your purchase is too long ago.
Should I skip SS or DE?
I'm a bit unsure if serious sam bundle of all games will be too much to buy at one time and dead effect seems weird despite pastebin praise.
Also does boneworks need a lot of room?
My play area is somewhat crumped
>>422545887
Of those games, the biggest choice to skip would be BW. I thought it was fucking garbage, the game came out without any fucking left hand movement support. Plus, it's trivial to pirate if you really want to try it out. I played it for an hour, refunded it, and haven't touched it since. Tried out Bonelabs the other day, feels like the same game and just as bad, so I imagine they didn't fix anything about BW in the past 4 years. I would say you need some room, I could never work out how to pull myself up obstacles without physically stepping forward a bit, seemed impossible.
I also bought the whole serious sam bundle and talos principle for cheaper than that price 4 years ago, it's funny that they're now charging more for less. Back then it was discounted "92%", now it's only 83%. Didn't like Talos in VR, didn't play much of SS but it was alright.
Dead Effect, I haven't played.
Alright men. What's there to cop? I don't think I'll be getting Alyx, it's not cheap enough yet.
>>422549309
thanks I'll skip all 3 then
episode 1 is pretty nice.
>>422549768
There's basically nothing on sale I'd recommend buying. Pistol whip is a fun game with autoaim turned off, but it has terrible music, so pirate it and save 20 bucks. I guess you could get AC, but if you don't have a wheel it probably isn't worth it.
I like how the valve complete pack still doesn't have Alyx in it. How is it complete? 25 bucks seems alright for Alyx, but without any real mod support I'm waiting for it to go sub 5 bucks, it'll happen eventually.
>>422549953
Probably a good choice. I'm over 150 bucks in credit on Steam thanks to TF2 crates, haven't bought anything on it in years. Shit sales, shit games, what's the point?
>>422550635
I'm set on simracing games, they're just in a different directory. I'm the simguy after all. I could get Kayak but 20% off is almost nothing. Vtol doesn't have a big discount either.
Actually I have Skyrim VR. Maybe I can get the anniversary edition or is that just for flat Skyrim?
>>422551452
Flat only. Even so AE is a meme
>>422518491
At least HH&H is getting regular updates. If that game was dead I don’t think I’d have a reason to own a headset
>>422550017
is that starfox?
>>422555958
it's the half life krystal mod
>>422555895
Has there been any real updates to H3 in years? I started it again for the first time since Alyx the other day and it seems almost identical. T&H is a little less shit, I guess.
Vail is 6 dollars. is it too dead
hl2 ep1 is way shorter than I remember. at least ep2 is in two weeks. I love that one.
>>422545887
There's a bundle with Serious Sam and Talos Principle VR. If you haven't played Talos Principle, it's an amazing puzzle game and it's quite pretty in VR.
>>422561442
Probably yeah. Game died in a month, and that's with most people seemingly getting it for free. Which is a shame, I liked it, but whoever was designing and leading the game had no idea what they wanted to do with the game or what the hook of the game even was. It's one of the only games I can think of with competent programming and art and seemingly no "ideas guy" to bring things together into something cohesive.
If you get it, maybe you can start a server for /vrgg/ and get a few people. But last I checked trying to get a public game was fruitless.
I bought some lens inserts for my index, and they're junk, they crush my nose because I have a low IPD. The lenses just pop out, is there any good way to attach them to the headset? If it was regular plastic I'd just use hot glue, but it's some weird rubber liner thing.

The excuse bigscreen gave for not building diopter adjustment into the lens stack sounded like bullshit. They're afraid of retards over-adjusting and fucking up their eyes, but really they just don't want the mechanical adjustment.
Probably a stupid question, but is Morrowind VR worth checking out? Is it as transformative an experience as Skyrim VR was? And is there a mod list that's compatible with VR?
>>422659359
>If he wants lenses, then FOV doesn't matter anyway because no headsets give decent FOV with lens inserts or glasses.
it does though.
I was able to still have more FOV with my index +vroptician lenses (bringing them right onto the eyeballs), then with other headsets with less FOV.
That being said, the prescription lenses from big screen seem to be only 1-2 mm thick and built in, somewhat. From their renderings it seems like the FOV doesn't change at all. Still sad about the FOV though. And about that I pay enough to essentially buy a second (complete) index kit.

I've heard about people putting extra foam in the headpad and buying all sorts of headstraps for it. PSVR1 was praised for the comfort and I thought one couldn't go wrong with a halo ring but apparently not.
Also sony should've gone with mini led. No one really gives a fuck about the blooming as long as grey blacked out scenes are solved. Games add bloom, lenses have all kinds of light bleeding artifacts and so do people with astigmatism. There are worse problems out there than white text on a black background not looking perfect. OLED isn't bright enough for even fresnel HDR or else they wouldn't have increased the persistence.

Foveated rendering has to be built into the game by developers, and no PC games support it even though the Vive Pro Eye and its SDK have been out since 2019. VR devs are just too lazy. At least Sony is strongarming devs into using it on their end.
>>422756767
Not really. You can use the VRPerfkit to use fixed foveated rendering in a decent chunk of games and get a pretty decent performance boost.
>>422757602
Fixed foveated rendering, but it can't take advantage of eye tracking. I fucking wish that I could use eye tracking with my Quest Pro. It's ironic as the Quest version of Red Matter 2 has dynamic foveated rendering but the devs didn't give a rats ass about implementing it into the PC version. Same with other VR multiplats. Dynamic foveated rendering might make No Man's Sky actually run well as it does on PSVR2 with it, but no dice where those lazy fags have left the Steam version without that option. Sadly fixed foveated rendering is super noticeable with pancake lenses, and all new headsets are using pancake lenses.
>>422756767
Vive Pro Eye is not fast enough for foveated rendering. Latency is too big.
OpenXR has the eye tracking extension. Varjo Auro supports it. I think QPro supports it too, not sure about the latency on it.
Overall there are not enough headsets which support fast eye-tracking (less than 0.05% of total HMD market), so there is no point bothering.
But I agree on one thing, VR devs in general are lazy incompetent retards.
Sony is not going to do shit. In one year (if not sooner), PSVR2 would be on life support. We have been through this already.
>>422757602
Fixed "foveated rendering" is trash. Even with fresnel lenses, you can see the artifacts easily if you just move your eyes even a little bit offcenter.

The idea of getting good at a video game repulses them. It's the end product of a culture where everyone is the main character.

Half Life 2 in VR is a superior game to Alyx in every possible way except for graphics and pointless prop interactivity (WAOW! I can open a file cabinet!), and that's because Half Life 2 is from 2004. It has more weapons, it has more varied environments, you don't have a voiced protagonist breaking your immersion every few minutes. It's also really nice to be able to move faster than a leisurely walk in smooth locomotion, and be fighting more than 3-4 combine enemies at once. Alyx holds your hand the whole time and never really challenges you because Valve anticipated it would be a lot of people's first VR game. HL2 is still balanced like a normal keyboard and mouse PC game, and somehow it also ended up being one of the best VR shooters.
