If you're factoring in the cost of possibly having to replace the cable and face gaskets, I'd just go for a new Index with a warranty. Might be worth it if you find one cheap enough or one that was barely used though.
Kinda hard to recommend WMR at this point too since Microsoft doesn't seem to want to support it for much longer. If G2s get super cheap again though, it might be enough to hold you over until something else worth upgrading to comes out. Supposedly has some additional overhead running stuff through SteamVR though, and takes some extra work to get it working with your Index controllers.

it runs an AI over the original image to guess at the depth, then it uses the generated depthmap to control how the model generates the image with more precision than img2img
it's not perfect because it's only an estimate but it helps a lot. Same can by done for pose and even fingers, although this was just depth.
you can generate a true depthmap in vrchat using the right shader, but i'm not sure you can do it at the exact time you take the screenshot. Anyway there's a bunch of free blender tools you could use to get pose and depth information for control net so just use one of them

I've been a casual VR user for a little over a year now. I haven't really interacted with many people or made any good friends (mostly due to effort on my part), and I usually only log on for club/rave events to go dancing. I've also never had any pseudo-physical interactions with anyone in VR either, like hugging, cuddling, etc.
Last night I was invited to a small private hangout by a person in one of my Discord servers that I've only ever talked to once or twice. I was a little reluctant at first, since I'm one of those people that gets more socially awkward in VR compared to IRL for some reason. But I thought what the heck, what's the worst that could happen.
When I joined the instance, the person who invited me came up to say hello. But when they approached me, they knelt down in front of me and gave me a little head rub and played with my ears for a few seconds before the others joined and we continued our evening. Note that I'm currently using a smaller avatar with long ears, similar to a Nanachi but a bit different.
If I'm being honest, that really fucked me up, but in a good way. Like all the feel-good chemicals firing off in my brain at once. It was... comforting, warm, and made me feel safe. We ultimately hung out for a couple hours with a couple other people before I had to get off for the night, but I couldn't stop thinking about that 5 second experience for the rest of the night or even this morning.
It's really weird to think about that fact that I'm a grown man and something as simple as a virtual head rub and ear massage elicited such a strong response in me. You can call this cringe or whatever, but I think it just goes to show how unique and special VR is.
Anyways, this was more just an anecdote of my experience and I wanted to share it with someone. But if you feel like commenting, what was it like the first time you ever received headpats or some other type of pseudo-physical stimulation in VR, and did you have the same type of reactionasdid

Only the weapons disappearing when leaving raid spawn too soon and falling through the map on spawn in silo needs to be fixed for the game breaking bugs to be gone. The rest are minor bugs, additional content, and quality of life fixes. Sure it wasn't ready for ea when it released but man they were only really a month or two out. The silo spawns were supposedly fixed with the latest patch along with the solo players spawning next to hostile duos but apparently some people are still falling through the map so I dunno.
You are right about the non fun fun game though. I got a good taste of it from itr but this having multiplayer throws the predictability of the exclusion zone right out the window.

I joined once after just doing the tutorial and it wasn't a great experience. It took me a while to take off so I couldn't find anyone and spent the whole game trying to figure out how to actually interpret the radar. They all had the DLC as well which kept relegating me to the interceptor role that I obviously couldn't fulfil and also prevented them from playing the maps they wanted so I quit after one game to avoid being a burden.

If you're naturally inclined towards paying instead of gitting gud then definitely. You can just kill pay pigs and take their stuff if you don't want to pay for it.
Also worth noting it is not in beta as advertised, it is in early alpha. Not bug free, not content complete, not feature complete. Still fun but extremely buggy and jank.But now that I think about it I crashed out more times playing the new call of duty today than Tabor today so I guess it's really already at AAA standard.

Unfortunate necessity when making big changes and some bug fixes. There's an issue with loot not saving between raids which needs a wipe to be implemented. Trader changes also going to reset rep. Both at once is the same as a wipe and to be completely desu I'd rather have a wipe than that bug and traders forever remaining the same.
Anyway it's alpha so expect more. Get in while it's live and fresh and there's no established meta or routes and everyone is still figuring things out. Alternatively wait for all the bugs to be gone and risk missing out because it died.
