makes some sense to me, i have an index atm and i usually adjust the lenses outwards because the comfort from eye relief is worth the slight decrease in FOV, so wouldn't be surprised if i've been using my index with near beyond's FOV anyway.
also with the index your horizontal FOV is cutoff by the screen edges well before the max setting anyway, and if my FOV is gonna be limited then id rather it be in a circular "binocular" fashion than seeing the straight edge between the panel and the interior (esp considering the index's black levels are abysmal so this edge is very very visible in dark scenes)

I sit in actual seated games like flight sims. Honestly haven't even tried playing a shooter while sitting now that I think about it. Sounds awkward as fuck especially with so many games that have holsters on hips. I prefer to physically turn my body while aiming and checking corners too. My reverb g2 is having trouble launching steamvr or keeping it launched, often resulting in crashing or not being able to open the steamvr overlay. Sometimes the display shakes wildly for a solid minute or two before I can use it. My friend with his g2 doesn't have this problem and I didn't have this problem with my rift s. Has anyone had a similar problem and how did you fix it? Google has failed me

Yes, its a really fun game in VR and there's usually a weekly hosted game here. Make sure you buy the legacy collection and download the VRPlus and VRRecoil mods. The base game is really bare bones and without these mods, you're stuck with teleport motion and no visible gun recoil. My only real gripe with VR is that akimbo weapons will crash you if you fire them. Its been a known bug for years and its never been fixed. One major benefit of VR is that you can interact with objects and shoot at the same time, desktoppers can't do that and on higher difficulties that has gotten me killed many times.

If you're truly new, please play the tutorials and start at normal difficulty; A lot of the game's mechanics will be lost to you if you don't play them. You can work your way up a new difficulty tier as you get more familiar with the game and eventually play on overkill, which is the new normal for most.

If you don't own the DLC for a heist you can still play it if someone else who owns it hosts.

IK has since changed so it doesn't do that any more. Ideally your model should be about right for your real life proportions but that looks weird as fuck on an anime girl. Arm span that matches your height is usually good enough. The rest is just keeping your head bone dead straight above your chest bone and having a mostly straight spine. There was a picture guide somewhere but I never saved it or tried it because mine was close enough anyway.

So I got my Index today and played through the Lab without any real issues with the semi-teleport movement style it has, beyond my eyes taking a bit to get used to staring into a headset so I took it in a couple of ~40 minute sessions. I didn't get over VR sickness until I played pavlov since it forced me to use non-teleport movement. I did learn a few things about tabor with this maxed out weekend. My priority is looting and making it out by the skin of my teeth, the thrill of risking my stuff and coming out with better stuff is what makes this game fun. They've got one massive quality of life upgrade over tarkov - a HUD compass showing the direction and elevation to extraction points. That alone lowers the bar to entry massively over tarkov.
Bugs are getting fixed really fast so my prediction of waiting a month from EA release until playable good game might be spot on. Honestly the thing I'm mostly waiting on is the trader quests getting an overhaul. I'd prefer bigger and harder quests that you can't repeat to the near worthless kill 5 fenix quests. I'd love to see something like tarkov's repair the fuse box quest or one that has an item that spawns in one map that you need to deliver to another. They have a tonne of items that mean basically nothing and sell for jack shit too like all the computer parts which would make a semi decent quest of trying to find and deliver all the different ones. Of the current quests the only one that is decent is the kill 25 fenix in 5 raids with smgs only.

The reason why everyone who isn't terminally ill still uses vrc is because if you want a VR social app with custom avatars your options are:
VRChat - EAC, biggest crowd, most features, bad perf
NeosVR - Crypto scam ran by furries with only the ability to create in-app. Exposes your files to people in your instance. Runs the worst of the three
Chillout VR - Full of client skids who are actively malicious, or scat-loving furries. Developed by people who used to steal api credentials in VRC by distributing random dlls. "Supports" mods via more random dlls. Only investors are ByteDance(CCP) and the owner.
