While the DJ did his thing just as flawless as ever, I sadly can't say the same about the map. These are the following issues we've had that I'm going to fix for next time.
- need to bake my map again, most avatars were dark as the night.
- Audio was a bit more quiet than usual
- Bit too much bloom on the spotlights near the middle area, mostly because of overlap of multiple lights.
If there's anything I missed, please let me know. And thanks for bearing with the slight scuff regardless anons. I hope everyone had a good time.

I gave the Deep Rock Galactic VR mod another try after like a year. It's still rough, but better. There are toggleable health bars on enemies now, and you can swing the pickaxe around to mine instead of holding a button, and performance seems fine overall; the only noticeable graphical glitch is the outline of the mule through terrain gets weirdly doubled, some VR rendering issue.

However, VR mode still missing all the tooltips you get in the flat game on how to use things and the laser pointer that normally tells you what you're pointing at doesn't work in VR for whatever reason (it still can command bosco, just provides no info). So unless you've already played the game flat a bunch (or have a friend along who has), it's pretty frustrating to stumble through. Oh and if you fail a mission there is no way to exit the failure screen apparently, except alt+f4. A skill issue yes, but the annoyance adds up and detracts from the fun. I don't know if I want to play the flat game enough to work up to being able to enjoy the VR mode.

I had a pretty good run too. Came in semi-geared (tan armour, decked out scar) and started out largely unmolested in prison, got to research hearing a lot of gunfire inside and decided to go to garage. After this kill I made my way back to the prison and opened the door for some AP powder and 3 NVGs. The prison keycard room is best for getting NVGs so if you're grinding Minty it's worth going to both for cash and the chance at the quad NVGs.
Feel kinda bad about the kill though, I distracted him by fortnite dancing behind the bullet proof glass as he was coming in and shot him when he put his guard down. Gotta say though 5.56 is really fucking shit against tan armour and above.

Lolno it runs on the MacBook Air / iPad Pro version, it's the worst M2 possible.
In 'raw power' it's comparable to the XR2 Gen 2 that Meta is putting in the Quest 3, but that's kind of a shit comparison with specific benchmarks. They're really very different chips, they'll excel at different things (the M2 should murder the XR2 when it comes to multi-threaded shit), and the Apple headset has the R1 co-processor specifically for VR/AR stuff.
However, the M2 is an inefficient slut, TDP is double that of the XR2 Gen 2, and in actual benchmarks it's always been a power gulping watt-dumpster, hence the 2 hour battery life with a fat external battery.

It's an iPad Pro on your face with a co-processor to keep things smooth while it thermal-throttles playing Charades in RecRoom.

I think it's just a misconception about what an AC is.
You don't need centralized AC built into your house to stay cool, you can just get a shitty window unit or a portable box you put next to the window. My AC is a 400 euro box that I put next to my window with the hose hanging out of it. I wasn't even able to fit the cover over the window, but it still manages to drop temperatures from 30C to 23C just fine which makes VR actually viable.
If you can shell out all that money for a PC and a VR setup, you really need to look into an AC unit because summers are getting unbearable here without them.

They got it to run on xbox at medium settings I think. It only breaks down when you push for high/ultra.
I don't think even a 4090 can run it at more than 60fps in VR on Ultra at 2500x2500 per eye.
On my 4080 I try to target 36fps or 45fps and turn on frame interporlation just for that game. I'm not too much into sims but there's something magical about MSFS and sims in general in VR.

i found a trick where i could overtake people usually on the wide turn at the middle of down and up slopes by going flying into the turn on the way up because the down force of the upward change in momentum gave the car way more traction and no one else seemed to really be taking advantage of that. since the beetle is a slow heavy car that was a huge advantage but it was also a little risky i guess and easy to fuck up, and couldnt be done if other cars were in the way without accidental cornerbombing

oh yeah, i completely forgot i have mine at 100% and i also use a mod called "FFB clip" which basically compresses the FFB signal to a higher level overall so that i feel more of the lighter forces on the wheel

its kinda weird and not as good as a more expensive wheel with more regular settings im sure, but feels like a big improvement to me in most cases. especially at higher speeds, the wheel tightens up a lot and seems to give me a much better idea of how much it would take to lose control

I think the mod I use called ffb clip helps it feel more like dirt rally 2 so maybe that game has a similar compression effect for some wheels or something. I have Vive Pro 2 with index controllers, and half of controlls don't work. Grips don't work, fingertracking doesn't work, left A/B buttons don't work.

BUUUUUUT I think I figured it out.

Dave in his infinite wisdom in is now using OpenXR (that's actually good) and made a hardcoded list of controlls and HMDs (bad).
If your HMD it's not on the list, it gets treatet as some generic Oculus device.

So Pavlov thinks I'm playing on some Oculus headset. Vive Console apparently provides SteamVR OpenXR implementation of OpenXR hand tracking end point which uses headset stereocameras.
Pavlov thinks I'm not on Index, but still tries to get fingertracking, and for some reason selects Vive fingertracking instead of Index Controllers.

But to get grip and left buttons to work (to open menu and grip guns) I need to map my Index Grip and A/B buttons to oculus grip click and X/Y buttons

Funny facts:
Pavlov is getting full finger tracking but there is still no fingersplay.
Vive openxr fingertracking also can work while wearing knuckles, but badly, I can move my fingers while not wearing Index controllers which is funny.

DAVE FUCKING EAT SHIT.

Oh and linux server binary is also fucked and you need to rename or use LD_PRELOAD on /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc++.so.1 otherwise it crashes. Official Discord recomends doing something which is equivalent to deleting system32 on windows.

Wrong. SteamVR has two endpoints: OpenXR and OpenVR. They both work extremely well.

Even Tabor devs didn't have any issues with Vive Pro 2 + Index. Bonelabs and Pavlov have, they fucked up, they literally hardcoded controllers and HMDs, undoing all the work Valve and Khronos group put into OpenXR to make it portable and device agnostic.

All dave had to do is to expose ACTIONS, like reload, fire, scoreboard, which then you bind to controllers, just like previous version of Pavlov had it. But instead he made a giant list of all VR device buttons, for WMRs, for Reverb G2, for Pico, for Oculus, for Vive and Index as INPUT ACTIONS and then has some braindead idiotic code which decides which set input actions to use, and any headset/controllers mix which didn't fit into his infinite wisdom gets fucked.
