yea being on orange is the exact way to prevent those awkward talks with friend that most people here use, and my original response was to others whining why most vrg instances are orange - because nobody wants to bother explaining 10+ people every time you want to join here why they should leave but only this time. Mocobi is basically the very first commercialized-normie-IMU tracker. And since it is IMU based, it is somewhat not stable.
There is not a single IMU based tracking, that does not have the "foot sliding".
Some have it more, some have it less (depending on the software) but they all have some sort of sliding (limitation of hardware and IMU tracking as a whole). In short, they only know rotation and in which direction you are moving, but it doesn't know where it is in 3D space.
If you have an index, you can get vive/tundra trackers for kind of the same price.
If you don't have an HMD that uses lighthouses, IMU based tracking is the only chance you have of getting fullbody for a reasonable price. But all IMU solutions (in the sub 500,- range) is kind of the same.

It's just turning the volume down on the sound emitter in the 3d player object, but the voice data still gets sent to the server and transmitted to other players. But either the volume state desyncs sometimes, or people have modded clients that can hear you, because there are times where it breaks. I confirmed it by talking to people while I was muted and getting responses, especially during times when I was quickly toggling back and forth between muted and unmuted. Started noticing other people talking to themselves more often too now that I clued in on this.

If you get a Quest headset you need to make a meta account, you don't have to link it to your facebook account (there was a period of time when you needed to use a facebook account but that's no longer the case)
In my opinion the headset you'd want to get depends on what you want to play. If most of the games are on the quest's store, go for a quest
If you are interested in pcvr games (half life alyx, racing games, skyrim, ...) and social vr (vrchat), then it depends what types of games interests you the most, but pico 4 is a better pcvr headset than q2

Alright I've looked it all up and decided to buy a Meta Quest 2 as a standalone headset.
Reasons :
- more games on meta store
- PICO 4 is chinese
- PICO will not allow mods on games hosted on its store
- It's actually cheaper
- Meta Quest sounds cooler than PICO

The only downside is no eye tracking (though i don't see how that's going to be a problem) and 2GB less RAM.

If you want a headset for standalone and have the money you really should wait for the Quest 3.
It's really only a matter of time before we see exclusive Quest 3 games and ports, even with a smaller market some devs will still choose not to support Quest 2 because it's too difficult to gimp their game enough for it to run at 72-90hz. We've already seen many developers upgrade their games for Pico and the Quest 2 clock speed update so we can safely expect many of them to make the Quest 3 versions better too.

decently, you'll have to do the mesh and Weightpaint work, plus UV and textures if you get really unlucky.
From case to case and depends on your expirience can take from 1 to 30 hours, Mesh being the main part you need expirience with to change proportions of outfit without ruining the main look, and weightpaint being the main problem for begginers until you get used to instruments and workflow.
Basic few minutes tutorials on Youtube helps a lot thou, especially "project weight from body to cloth", will give you a great and quick basic start with new weights being roughly resembling from your base

Depends. If you find a similarly sized/proportioned model and take outfits from there it's pretty easy. The further the proportions differ the harder it gets. Forget about putting an outfit made for big boobs onto a flat chest without some remodeling for instance, or to fit something with anime proportions onto something that has realistic ones.
