Threadly Dirt Rally 2.0 reminder, we're currently running R4/NR4 in Sweden.
Ends on the Monday after next (12/25), so you have some time to get some practice and get your run in.

I am looking for hosts for EU and potentially SEA for the 29th or 30th, just DM or email me with your VRC username and timezone.
We currently have one volunteer for NA but backup hosts is never a bad idea in case plans change.
The hosts can either go to the hub world and take everyone through the portals there which will be public portals (because as far as I know you can't put friends+portals in worlds) or I will send them a list of the worlds for them to favourite and drop friends+ portals to.

The deadline for submitting worlds is the 28th and they should preferably be submitted to labs to make it easier for hosts to drop portals to them
The theme is winter, anything even vaguely winter related is fine and all skill levels are welcome. You can submit your world by sending your world ID to vrbuild123@gmail.com, vrbuild on Discord or post it in the thread

Just plug the ethernet cable into a router and run your own wifi off of that. Given the further details of your situation, I would not recommend the GL.iNet Opal anymore; it would not be suited to your use case.

The TP-Link Archer C6 or A6 routers are good choices and relatively inexpensive. Purchase a router and an ethernet cord. Plug the router into the ethernet source you have, then plug your computer into the router with the new ethernet cord. After setting up the router, you will now have a wifi network which you can use for both your quest and any other devices.

A centralized database built into the mod manager with up-to-date links from the authors and that players can report when the links are dead would be nice. Content Manager already notifies you about updates for some car and track mods, but I'm not sure how that works. It certainly doesn't work a majority of the time, and will always be a clusterfuck due to people having different versions of the same car - made even more complicated by people modifying those cars and creating their own variants without changing the folder/model names (and version numbers). The walking dead saints and sinners is good
Ancient dungeon VR has multiplayer now and it's a simpledungeon roguelike (it is not much like rogue)
Thrill of the fight / creed are boxing games, with more of a sim / arcade feel respectively
eleven table tennis gets a lot of time out of me, since it's a great pingpong sim.
If you have a wheel ,dirt rally 2 and assetto are pretty much mandatory
The last clockwinder is an amazing puzzle game that's well worth money/time/etc
Vertigo 2 came out this year and is excellent vrfps, also probably better than alyx.
Wanderer is great; good timetravel puzzle game

If you think it may be cable, carefully and slowly wiggle it into different positions around the place where it clips to headband, and see if it works (it'll catch up with some delay). If it does, it's a cable. Not using CV1 anymore, so can't tell you if new versions of oculus software still support CV1, but figuring out fresh cable damage is relatively easy with wiggles, so I'd try it as a first thing. CV1 cables are also famous for breaking over time.

Well the CV1 is literally the only headset that does outside in tracking so I guess you are pretty limited.

wow! under all there godrays and reflections you can almost tell it's really sharp right in the middle when running at 75hz.
The FoV is alright to BUT DON'T LOOK AROUND cause all that's blurry anyway.
And the custom fit is so good and tight it keeps your skin all moist and clammy. none of that nasty air circulation.

I need some advice about whether to go with Pico 4 or Quest 3. My initial plan was to wait for Pico 5 but apparently that's been cancelled. The base costs are $440 for Pico and $615 for Quest 3 where I live, however I Quest 3 would come at $715 considering I will have to get the elite strap which isn't required for Pico 4. This will be the first VR I'm getting so I'm game for anything. I mostly spend the time on my PC watching porn so I will be using it for PCVR mostly. There's currently no way to run standalone Quest stuff on the Pico, and I wouldn't hold out hope for that to happen. You're only missing out on a few games though.
