CVR should have rixed some of the issues with layers and the Car Controller script, so next years race should be a much smoother experience.
I recommend you get a bit used to CVR before the race, learn their SDK and upload your avatar, so you have a some knowledge when you make your own awsome car.

I've seen a number of complaints on reddit about dead pixels, and the flightsimvr guy on YouTube says he had to get SIX refunds until meta shipped him a proper headset. Its a 3d program specifically focused for making clothing, and you can export all the stuff on filetypes like fbx that you can add on your character, its pretty much what industry standard 3d use these days, besides also actual clothes designers. Nice thing about it is that you can do all the seamings, zippers and everything else on it as well, so its very useful if your character in mind will be done to dress and undress. Now if you are simply making a model without that, then just stick to doing the 3D model on blender, though I would suggest using Zbrush for modeling, it takes more time learning its nightmareish UI than modeling desu.

Find clothing you like and study what it is about them that makes them look good.
Look at the geometry and complexity, the details they have, the textures, look at what details the textures have, how the highlights and shading are done, how the shaders are setup etc.
Just keep trying to bridge the gap between what they do and what you make.

When I make clothing in substance painter I always make sure not to shadow and highlight with just multiplying with black and overlaying with white. You need to have a highlight color and a shadow color of different hue's not just a lighter and darker colors of the same hue. That's what makes textures look vibrant.
Try to add as much detail as possible and make sure that detail stylistically matches with everything else. So add seams, add wrinkles, add stitches etc.
The best booth modellers are also good illustrators so look up anime illustration guides about drawing and rendering clothing. Apply those lessons to your textures.

The PSVR2 already runs at a low as fuck resolution often below panel res, not even considering distortion correction supersampling. The higher your base resolution the less you have to worry about, like with the smoothing tricks another anon mentioned. I thought that Tokyo Chronos's writing was kind of shitt. What bugged about it and Altdeus as well is the scale. Everything is scaled to ve enormous for some reason which really kills the immersion of those games. You can't just lower the scale in SteamVR as it'll make the text way too small to read and everything will still be too big. Try The Midnight Sanctuary instead. It's short but everything is to scale, the way it renders the entire town is really immersive, and the way it uses head tracking for the trippy patterns is cool.

Tokyo Chronos is not good, the scale is bugged out as shit and the presentation is super basic. I'm not sure what the other anon is talking about with scale in Altdeus, because they fixed the scale problem there and everyhing looks 'right' for how big it should be. Quest 3 came in. Here's some thoughts.

Initial thoughts, EW stuff is fun. Figured out the jamming but not the decoys yet but I can say you NEED to take the TGP now to visually identify targets. F45 is still king but you can use decoys to force them to close on you and pick you out with EOTS, which should be close enough to kill them. Lots of new stuff to chew on systems wise and properly using everything in combat is an entirely different conversation.

Damn, I'm sure Asgard's Wrath 2 will have low points but just starting it's immediately apparent how smooth the game feels to play. Even the ladders are a nice touch, letting you touch the rope on the side to instantly go down, yet it isn't a struggle to manually climb down either.

Don't let me sway you, I'm only an hour in and this is my first game because I just got the Quest 3. But it's a nice reminder that VR action games don't need elaborate weighty physics to be good, so long as there's still physicality and satisfying feedback. Yeah I've figured out only a tiny bit of it. Basically low freq for early warning, mid for searching SAMs, and high for locked SAMs. No idea what the other two settings do for jammers. Also haven't memorised all the abbreviations either so it's a bit of a shitshow with me in the EW seat. Had limited success locking out the early warning radars to do high recon, then jamming out the targeting radars on the approach. After that it's just monitoring locks for defensive jamming while you go for another pass.

Assuming you're not going full retard and pressing preview on the blink slot actually makes you blink, you have to be sure you don't have any animations in any part of your Fx layer that mentions that shapekey. If you do, and want to keep it, you will have to make another shapekey and use one in each slot. Really easy to put the model in blender, activate the blink shapekey and then select "new shapekey from mix" to duplicate it.

Quest Pro has better comfort (with Globular Cluster strap), passthrough is useful for grabbing a drink and eye/facetracking is really fun to use in VRC but useless for anything else. Visual clarity is better but compression artifacts are noticeable in both Virtual Desktop and SteamLink at max bitrate. Wireless is great for dancing but being limited in time sucks, can't get it to charge while playing. FOV is supposedly better with Index but I can't really notice it. I use Knuckles so I don't care about the controllers. Anyway, it's worth buying if you can find it second hand for cheap and you play a lot of VRC.
