We made it through another year! Let's take a trip down memory lane together and remember all the >fun we had in 2023. I am trying to make a hunched over character (even more than it is now). Is there a reasonable way to do this? I can kind of just put the bones straight and not match it very much to the mesh, but that isn't ideal cause all the skin deformations are bad. Also want the legs to always be bent too.

For vr i don't think this it is possible the ik expects your armature to be a certain way and does its best to correct for it if it isn't. Usually with weird outcomes.
Maybe in like blender you could move it back a bit hunch it forward and apply the pose, and adjust the spine bones to be somewhat normal again, but I really don't know.

Is the quest 2 kinda creaky for anyone else, or did I just get kinda unlucky with my interface? It's not like dealbreaker unbearable, but putting it on and taking it off my CV1 was silent and didn't flex in unexpected ways even a little bit.

But from the thread and the events we host it is clear that there is a wholesome community we have here even on the meetups.

I believe this is a perception battle on where people's attention are placed on. Since we are a group of groups, there are groups falling apart into their own drama holes and even branching off out of /vrg/.
But there are also groups and individuals who are wholesome chungus and everything in-between.
The battle hence is not of trying to save those who wish not to be saved.
But to foster those who are wholesome and let them take the center stage somehow even though we just keep to ourselves.

Better AI is basicallly needed even when not in VR to make the AI work at fucking all, weapon and mech mods are not absolutely necessary but base game is sorta barren without them and it's all lore and rulebooks accurate stuff. Press alt+select on an edge to select the edge loop and then press delete and select collapse edge loops. It'll work great to lower your poly count in a tidy way so long as you don't select the edge of a UV island. If they've made the model in maya (I think) where the topology is auto generated from a sculpt, the edge loops will be like some crazy swirl around the model instead of rings in which case lol lmao.

Newly discovered you will get a lot more power if you use straight first in any combo. Swiping downwards to do straight kick is pretty easy. Crazy how many people will just stop mid battle for a tutorial too. Community is great in this game. Finding a lot of new players too. I haven't played a battletech game since I was a wee lad.
spent this morning downloading like 20 mods, and just set up UEVR for it.
Tried out an instant action mission. much to my surprise my hotas is already bound (t16000m) which was nice.
I just pressed buttons until I figured out what they did.
my biggest issue so far is my f9-f12 keys are not doing anything either in game or in menu and the mod uses them.
also getting some weird black flickering in one eye but it seemed to go away halfway through the mission so maybe it's a broken weather effect or something.
a little bit of tweaking and I think this will be good fun for a while

How do I reset the floor height in HTC Vive without having to go through the entire room setup? HTC Vive is a piece of shit and the floor height keeps randomly moving up. Rumble. It's the earth bending game. Really good. Every time I play I learn something new. Latest discovery is that each object has an intrinsic strength that is used to decide which one explodes when they collide. This gets increased by 1 for being moving and increased by 1 for being "grounded" (which is different to just being on the ground). If there's a huge pile of pillars (strength 2 but spawn grounded so 3) you can summon a ball (strength 2), ground it with stomp, and then straight punch it to give it a strength of 4 to go directly through all the pillars. The ball is lighter than the pillar so a grounded ball will go a lot further than just a pillar on its own despite both having a strength of 4.
Still got a lot of work to do to get the timing right but grounding an incoming ball to stop it in its tracks then sending it back is pretty useful.

Worth giving it a shot. It's definitely the only game that does what it does. There's no hotas support deliberately because of how the cockpit works for vr. It's a lot less sim than dcs so if that's your thing then no but if you don't mind the extra arcadeyness to it and want full vr control then go for it.

Most indie VR games sell less than 10k copies, hell most sell less than 1k. It's basically impossible to make profit if you're full time dev working on PCVR so that leaves you with solo devs working in their free time which leads to the graveyard of early access shit.

do the quest pro controllers have all the same features as the quest 3 controllers?
like the capacitive triggers and the side of the 'face' where the buttons are registers if you're touching it or not?
