You can just buy pico trackers on aliexpress. They can last up to a month on an AA battery. It would be cool if someone made a slimevt server driver for them, because right now you can use 2 of them for feet and hip guestimation and only on Pico device while using pico controllers.

I think its due to the nature of virtual worlds. No one has actually made a UX that doesn't conform to traditional UX standards that involve a cursor and instead uses the full benefits of what VR has to offer. I just saw someone mentioned Pico trackers so I will bring my problem from the last thread one more time and describe the first day of testing Pico trackers (which raised new question I'll also ask below).

The problem I have - after calibrating in SteamVR it puts all the virtual body trackers little bit to the right from the center where it should be (pic), rebooting everything and all the "reset position" buttons did nothing, I also couldn't find another person on the internet with the same problem. I'm still asking because I hope it might be a SteamVR/OVR problem I somehow messed up myself by tinkering and not a Pico drivers problem, because, again, I'm not seeing anyone has the same thing.

As for the feedback - trackers still worked even with the problem I have so I was able to test them a bit. I didn't expect much, but the one issue kinda ruined the whole thing for me, and this time I'm not the only one having it. After using trackers for a bit, especially after sitting - standing back, crossing legs, crouching etc - the tracking breaks and I need to open trackers app to recalibrate to fix it, which is extremely annoying. I remembered the guy I watch explaining how to set up trackers for EU version of Pico 4 was complaining about it and calling the trackers a failure because of this and I can totally agree, this one issue totally ruins the whole experience. Like, you can stand and walk around as long as you want, but as soon as you sit and cross your legs or crouch or something - the whole thing could break.

So, my question comes from the Pico Trackers PTSD I've just got - does Slimes will be having the same issue? Can you break the tracking by twisting yourself into a pretzel too much so you need to take a pause and recalibrate? Because if this is a thing - I would probably stay without any fbt for now. I believe Vives doesn't have that issue because of base stations thing, but I'm not getting them, while Slimes look like something I could grab.

Oh, there was plenty of vendors selling them on Aliexpress 2-3 months ago, I have no idea where they took it from. I've actually had pretty weird interactions with sellers of those - first I ordered trackers for $32 and after few days the seller DMed me asking to cancel the order because they don't have any trackers left. Then I ordered it again for $37 from other vendor and had the same DM, this time I couldn't cancel the order, so I told the seller they can cancel it themselves, got "ok" as a response and then the seller did nothing for the next 2 weeks, but after that suddenly the order got status "prepared for shipment" or something and after a bit I've got my trackers. I have no idea how it works in there.

Speaking of VR games, here's my takes from the demos. I've gone through a bunch of them
First; Astro Hunters VR
Probably the best demo. Feels like a real game, but I thinkit might be too shallow. Might be fun if they add some coop. My favourite bit was just being confused. It's a space looter extraction type game, but it's made by someone not retarded.
Upsides is it has a real gameplay loop and plays perfectly fine.
Downsides is it feels shallow and I think it needs greater depth of gameplay since once you have decent gear there's probably no reason to keep playing. Although I AM going to play this some more so that's something.

DDay game:
Yeah it's a museum. Should be in vrc. Point of a museum to me is seeing something in real life so a VR museum is pointless to me unless it shows you something that can't be done IRL.

Frenzy Blood was basically unplayable; the camera lagged behind where you moved your head so you felt nauseous the entire time.

Controls didn't work on index for jarpug

For rune bender VR; wave defense with pointless busywork to cast spells

Masternoid was breakout in 3d. At least the game WORKED.

Minimally invasive was another game with no worko controls on index

Phantom bound was the second game that actually felt like a real game. I got taught a gameplay mechanic valve-style and then had a boss where I had to use it. Janky though since I think the boss was glitched but whatever. I might actually play this game.

Periculum: RTS but with hexagons. Controls and visuals were a bit janky but after getting used to them I got bored by the game. Not the type of game I enjoy though so if you're a big strategy RTS game person you can find your own reasons to not like this

The pirates game. Another game where the player camera lags behind the headset. Dizzying. The only parts that were interesting were the climbing. There's a game in here somewhere that will never see the light of day.

Yeah it was turn based. I was bored very rapidly.

Security control was a game. similar to something like lethal or SCP secret lab; you run around with tasks to do in the dark avoiding security guards who can lock you in gay baby jail. The tension is too low and the game is spread too thin and your punishment for getting caught is being bored for 5 minutes.
The guards and other players can be people which adds some depth. I think it's balanced for a maxed out player lobby so I will need to try that before judging it properly I think. Not bad overall, just lacking spice.
