The game is fun but it's worse than Pavlov in that regard. Slow pace until you contact the enemy at which point headshots from any weapon can kill you very fast. Heavy use of the leaning mechanic to hide most of your body while waiting in strong positions when on the defence is the way to win. For attackers you want to take your time and open up as many angles as possible so the enemy can't bottleneck you. If you go in too early or get caught out with no cover you can be waiting a while for the rest of your team to die/win.
I think it's much less interesting during post-death too because you can't watch or chat with the enemy team, instead you talk to and place markers for your living teammates. That might be good for small groups but it's worse for a community game.

Running is audible, walking is audible on metallic or wet surfaces, sneaking is silent. Breachers has pretty good audio spatialisation so just because you're in range of hearing something doesn't mean you will hear something if there's physical barrier.

So, I'm giving my Quest 2 to my cousin, and I'm looking for a good headset. I use Virtual Desktop and mainly play VRChat. Is there something that works well with PCVR? Another thing I should mention is that I need glasses, and I'd rather not spend money on perscription lenses for my headset, but will if absolutely necessary. Money isn't an issue, but I would prefer something around $1,000. I've been looking but can't decide, so I'm asking you all.

I just bought an XR Elite and it's reaaaally hard to recommend unless you absolutely refuse to buy Facebook (I love my Quest Pro). I guess it depends on whether you're willing to wear the QPro in open mode (no light blockers). That's what I do with glasses and it feels great. I've done the quest 2 with spacer and hate the way it pushes the glasses legs into yyour face and can move them when turning your head. I imagine the q3 would be the same. There might be a really good halo strap for Q3 that replicates this but idk.

Tried out the Frenzy Blood demo. It's cool looking I guess, pretty simple shooter but I haven't figured out how to regain the blue sanity meter. Guess we'll see where it ends up.

Minimally Invasive was definitely the best demo out of the lot. Microscopic surgeon manipulating your Doctor Octopus arms to solve a bunch of puzzles. Hard to generate a webm that isn't a spoiler or already a gif on the store page. The tutorial pop ups are very useful make sure to read them. Everyone should try it for themselves if they have half an hour to spare.

Phantom Bound was another fun one, the demo is short but it comes with an endless mode to play around with as well. Looks like it'll be good when they flesh out the campaign but there's a good base for mechanics. Very easy to get overwhelmed by many ghosts.

I think I'm going to sell my stupid 7 tundra tracker set. I never use all 7 trackers, and even 3 trackers is a pain because of the shitty charging situation where the trackers will turn on when you plug the in, when you uplug them, and whenever you look at them funny, and you have to hold down the button on each tracker for 5 seconds to turn it off. Every once and a while I check their plebbit for a fix but there's still nothing, and they killed their own forums.

Are the vive ultimate trackers any good over the 3s? I obviously have the lighthouses already, but less occlusion issues might nice.

If VRC dies then CVR is actually a decent alternative now. They fixed the biggest issues and they even have some form of scripting now which is arguably already more performant than Udon, but not as mature.
What they lack is players, so unless VRC pulls some big funny that makes them bleed players, CVR isn't taking off.

Serious Sam TFE HD, TSE HD, and 3 got VR ports. The mod compatibility isn't great though. Quake 2 has a port but I haven't tried it. There are VR mods for SRB2 and SRB2 Kart which work with all other mods. I honestly stick to playing most retro shooters flat as missing out on mods or being forced to play a gimped standalone version just isn't worth it for me.
