You might find socializing more fun once you'll join us in particular, there's tons of nerd ass anons and a chance that someone shares your interests is considerably high. And when you don't feel like doing people things, you can explore worlds, play games (alone or social ones), whatnot. Just running around one of a million completely random worlds and trying to figure out what the hell a person had in mind while making it is plenty fun. You can also make your own stuff, sooner or later you'd at very least clap together your own avatar from random bits and pieces, and then if you'll enjoy the process, you might pop up a world or two.

Hanging out and chatting is the norm. That alone isn't my thing too but it's the only way to be part of the minor activities like playing pool or drawing, things like that are often present on popular hangout maps. Exploration is nice because there are many fun worlds with interactables and minigames but when everyone just wants to stand around all night on a map with nothing to do it can be frustrating. I think it would be a lot more tolerable if we could spawn scripted props or alter our movement mechanics but the best you can do on an avatar is novelty and fidget stuff.

Otherwise it's the same events you see posted to the thread, if they even appeal to you. Maybe try joining a VR game lobby if you want to see if the people here are the kind you'd want to talk to.

Thinking about getting the PS VR2 now that it's on discount and the pc adapter is nearly there. I don't particularly like socializing, too, which is why it took me a little over six years to actually open VRChat, but after finding out about some events, I finally did it. You can do lots of stuff that doesn't require socializing that much, like pypy, watching movies or anime, do the world explorations, karaoke, play game worlds etc. It's still more fun with others, but you don't have to stand around talking to each other.

the psvr2 doesnt have oled lenses, it has OLED Screens. it has fresnel lenses. which is ancient technology now. new headsets have "pancake" lenses.

the difference is huge. fresnel lenses have a tiny 'sweetspot' in the center and everything else is blurry - this means you have to turn your head to look around. pancake lenses are clear almost entirely, which means you can move just your eyes around.

fresnel lenses are dead technology that no one should be buying in 2024.

yes, you can absolutely build a network of two routers, it's a relatively easy thing to configure. There's a lot to consider in regards to whether it makes sense or not though. My main issue has always been frames. Distance hider has become a necessity in big meets because every boothnig has a (actually) very poor avatar and makes no attempt at optimising. No one has a meetup avatar now that is stripped of the unnecessary and is brought down to at least medium. They don't have fallbacks and even if they did their avatar not matching what other people see is just a bad thing in general. I walk into an instance and have to have distance hider on because there's a corner full of randos or trashnigs that eat my frames. If I get slightly too close to them or look in their direction my game fucking locks up. I don't mind seeing them and I don't mind some pile in the corner having a conversation I'm not part of. I mind actively suffering because they're in the same instance as me and have 300MB tex memory each.
And before you bitch about 70,001 polygons remember the fumo event had none of these problems. Your avatar's optimisation does matter. It is not hard at all to make a meetup avatar and actually use it. Medium is a VERY easy target to hit. So long as we have these faggots that refuse to optimise, kicking trashnigs and tda tier glowie avatar users is completely necessary.
