catan is pretty chill game and incredibly simple, the win condition is to reach a certain number of score points that you mostly reach via building stuff on the map like roads and settlements

what you do is you get a random map with resources like sheep, wheat all over the place, and you basically think where to place your first settlement and one road piece

every dice roll is a resource roll, and it gives everyone who has a settlement near that resource some of it, if your settlement is near 0 you get nothing, if its between 3 tiles of wheat and get 3 wheat every time someone rolls wheat

that means that you could have surplus or lack of resources and every round you can trade with players

what you do with the resources is you build roads, improve your city, or play development cards which are cool but more random stuff or basic stuff that give you points, roads and settlements you build also prevent other players from building in that area

certain events in the game include a thief piece that prevents a tile from giving resources

basically the game is chill and you can trade with people or just do your own thing and its not super competitive or die-hard

at the edge of the map theres port cities and instead of building inland you can place a city in a port and depending on the port you can trade with the bank 2:1 resources, so imagine having a fuckton of sheep and trading 2 at a time for any other resource card you need

you develop your shit, build the longest road, build the biggest army (army is just to counter the thief piece and get it off your shit) to get to victory points

also if you roll a 7 that triggers the thief piece

catan is fun as hell It's a pain in the ass to get people to actually try it, its a chill evening

it also has more advanced addons that make the map bigger and make it more complex

Sounds like a lot of fun, anon. I also used the scavenger mod for my in radius only playthrough. Treehouse is in a very convenient spot as far as the safehouses go. You should look into physics locking objects to make wall racks and shelves. Just balance an object on another for long enough and it will freeze in place. Lets you make spotlights to brighten up the place a bit too. Also there are a bunch of art collectables you can find around. Pic related is in the quarry cave safehouse.
Looking forward to doing a radius only run in ITR2 because you can survive a tide by being in a safehouse. Will probably use the rail car safe house in forest. In ITR1 1.0 I lived in the radius and tried to clear the entire map without going back to home base. Was very comfy. Did all the major spots except castle and the mimic hellscape to the north west.

The game changes how much ammo it gives you based on how much ammo you have. They do this in order to always make you feel like you barely had enough. I also think that they adjust boss health the same way so that they only die when you're nearly out. It's lame and gay and one of the big reasons I don't like alyx that much.

That's VR motion sickness. You will stop feeling dizzy after enough VR experience, like getting your sea legs. Just don't try and force it; do stop playing if you are feeling unwell, and try again later and the time you can handle VR will just increase.

It isn't. Use the ammo you have.
Immersion ruining spoilers ahead: Ammo spawns dynamically based on how much you have. There's a soft and hard cap set by the difficulty. It will just stop spawning ammo of that type once you get to the upper limits. If you get below the lower limit it will spawn bigger piles. Basically if you're not finding ammo of a certain type it means the game thinks you don't need more. For the shotgun the ammo limit is really low. Barely more than a full shotgun's worth of ammo. If you actually use it, you'll always find more. Still have to go looking but you'll never find so little that you'll run out completely in a fight. If you do, you should be able to find more even in rooms you've already cleared. There are mods that boost this cap but infinite shotgun ammo trivializes an already easy game.

Winter, ice and snow is the overall theme of the Winter World Jam,wich can be a comfy apartment with snow outside, a frozen lake under a starry sky, or whatever else you can come up with for your map.

Perf block is Poor and worse, with (if I remember correctly) +50MB download and not my friend. Don't remember the nitty gritty of my settings anymore. Late reply but it's not as deep mechanically as UFS but at the same time it plays better and nails the fishing much better than UFS. It's largely stationary, seated game with tons of locations and some 400+ fish to catch, each with its own pattern when you hook it. No virtual beer but you can turn on single controller mode and crack opean a bear IRL while shooting shit with friends. It's comfy, it uses VR motion controls properly and the devs keep updating it, that's the best way to describe it.

It's setup so that everyone in the group has permissions to make group+ instances and drop portals to them, and nothing else (no notifications or other annoying stuff). The group is also private/unlisted so it doesn't show up in anyone's profile and isn't searchable in vrchat (need the direct link to join).

So if anyone else wants to host world explorations in the future, feel free to use the same group; just make group+ instances and post the group link. I experimented with groups for a year mainly to blacklist legit KOS like IH but in the end i think the experiment failed because not a whole lot of people actually joined instances when i put them up and it was getting harder making judgement calls when people opted to join the group. The game has some custom code for very heavy scene where it'll turn on ASW but it kicks in too late and then takes too long to go back to a normal framerate.
The dynamic resolution setting in the option is a trap and only reduces resolution without ever increasing it.

I bumped the render res by 20% and it made a very noticeable difference and with increase clockspeed the FPS are the same. Only time it drops is when using a smoke bomb in combat.

As for the game, it's a pure power fantasy I fucking love it. Must play for sure.

Things I like about the game:
Obviously the IK. Not perfect but it's good. Fuck all the floating hand apologists.
Throwing batarangs is piss easy since you use headgaze to lock-on to targets.
Climbing ladders. Grab two bars, fling yourself up, physically grab the edge and climb up. I can't believe no fucking games got it right before. I mean sure most of the time you're gonna be lazy and use the grabbling hook to get on the ledge but still.
Grabbling hook again, it puts your at the edge of a ledge. You can either hit forward on the right thumbstick to mantle over, or use your hand. The animation is the same.
The usage of forward/backward on the right stick for contextual mantling is nice and blends in right between when you need the immersion (manually grabbing ledges) and automated for fast paced gameplay purposes.
Combat punches with the IK are canned animations mostly, like they follow mostly where your controller. And it's good. It's fucking fast and gets the job done while still giving you a good enough illusion.

Verdict:
For the past 4-5 years everyone has tried to replicate fully simulated physics sandbox like boneworks and it fucking SUCKED.
I can't believe it took this long to get a good balance of practical gameplay in vs realistic autism. Turns out you need to abstract your game to get a visceral and great experience.
Can't wait to hear the cope from Mr Baldie and how he's gonna twist how muh games need to everything to be motion control wagglan and how having a throwing arc with your off hand for grenade throws it the biggest sin since genesis.

As much as I like the core gameplay of Until you Fall, Batman has been far more enjoyable for me so far simply because it's not another roguelite set in a tiny arena. Also, not sure if it matters at all, but mine isn't bridged like that. I just checked the box instead of selecting both and bridging, then just set the IP on my router instead. I don't know if there's any weird differences between bridging like that and ICS, so it might be worth trying if you know for sure there's no interference issues.

Stuff with faster movement is where you'd start to notice issues. I'd max out the target bitrate and encoded video size in the settings for now, there's more you can tweak later, but you need to dig through settings files for some of it. Pretty sure you're capped at 350Mbps no matter what you do though.
Virtual Desktop gives you more you can tweak too, might be worth trying out later if you notice any issues. I think you can force the bitrate higher for AirLink too, but I've never messed around with it.

I feel like wireless is nicer to have in games like Pavlov, but compression is less of an issue in VRC if you're bitrate constrained. On your setup, I assume you'll be fine though.

Is that a fancy way of saying to draw all of them in a single API call? Already doing that, it's uploaded as a list of GL_POINTS with attributes controlling size/colour/glow. Currently I'm blowing them up with a geometry shader, but randos on the internet say this is not efficient with modern cards so I might try something else.
Either way, GPU is not currently the bottleneck. The main issue actually seems to be that I'm using Lua 5.4 for levels/patterns and it's kind of slow, but I've sunk too much cost into its new coroutine API to just switch to LuaJIT (5.1).

Arkham Shadow runs surprisingly well on Quest 2, i think they just made it exclusive to sell more headsets, and honestly i respect that since i do want quest 2 to be left behind

so anon let me teach you about the absolute basics of making your own network in a share house
1. buy a new router, I personally recommend the TP-Link AX1500, it's what I use an works amazingly
2. buy 2 ethernet cables 1 for router and 1 for pc
3. connect one ethernet cable between the WAN ports of your current router and the one you buy, this will function like one of those wifi extenders, but it actually works and isn't a scam
3.5. if you bought a TP-Link router turn off Smart-Connect or whatever and connect all your devices to the 5G connection
4. connect a ethernet cable from the LAN port of your new router to your PC
5. connect all your wireless devices to your new router network and away you go
