For some games it's still not going to be enough, people either don't care to begin with or they lost interest. You can see even the EUs struggle with some games despite the regular core of VR gamers that show up to most lobbies. However a lot of games just don't even get attempted so we'll never know how many people were silently hoping to play.

Needed to play the smaller versions of the maps desu. The spawn system is terrible and it's worst on the large maps.
As we saw the gamemodes suck too. Small maps + lots of players + fast fuel/cooldown modifier + WORM = what is needed to make Vox fun. But Interest in Vox is nearly dead in /vrg/ so it's never going to be great again.

It's a great looking game with well designed cockpit controls and it was optimized around the original GTX970 requirements for VR so it runs very well. The sound design stood out among indie VR games and the way armor peels off the mechs is an interesting mechanic.
Everything else is mid or poorly designed though. The fact that not a single gamemode other than deathmatch is fun is very telling and it took them years to even make smaller versions of the maps, which are still not very interesting.

personally on my very first day i simply took off my headset every couple of minutes for a few seconds if i ever started feeling disoriented.

got my basic VR legs in like 2 days, after a month i could fly and jump in vr without issue.

i got a little sick ONCE and that was after i had already gotten used to VR but i was just a little dizzy and nothing bad happened, i just went to bed and was totally fine.
my advice would be to stick to simple surfaces that are flat, and maybe perhaps snap turning.
you should get used to it very quickly.

Alyx is probably extremely anti-vomit, given how restricted movement is and how it even defaults to teleport motion. Can't say for sure because it was never my problem, but that's definitely one title to try. VRC can often be a full night of sitting on your ass in one place with next to zero movement sad but true, probably worth a shot.

Walkabout minigolf, you can use teleport movement and it doesn't hinder the gameplay like most games.

Make sure you're well hydrated and not on an empty stomach. Get a rotary fan in the room pointing directly at you, it does help if you're sensitive to VR sickness.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is overrated as hell. The non-chronological episode order is more confusing than clever, and Haruhi herself is an insufferable brat with zero redeeming qualities. Kyon's snark gets old fast, and the rest of the cast? Barely developed.
Endless Eight? Eight episodes of the same crap with tiny differences—pure torture to sit through. Easy skip. The tone jumps from wacky school comedy to pseudo-philosophical sci-fi with no balance, and the anime doesn’t even bother resolving half its plot points.

Anything that doesn't involve locomotion. You want seated/standing experiences where the player character can't move beyond where you can move irl. "Diorama" games like Moss will be perfect to start with. If you have no problems, try games that support teleport movement like Alyx. They're usually fine too.

locomotion in the game is what causes motion sickness because your brain expects to feel acceleration in your inner ear when your eyes see everything move at the same time, since it usually means you're moving. If it doesn't get that signal, it assumes your senses aren't working correctly. In the good old days it meant you've been poisoned so your body prepares to empty your stomach.

After being tired of speculation, I've did an experiment repeating the "Measuring motion‑to‑photon latency for sensorimotor experiments with virtual reality systems" study, with slight ghettofication as I don't have a robotic arm and high speed slow mo camera.

I've used my phone in slow mo mode (120 FPS), to film HMD lenses and VR controller being flicked. I've repeated flicks between 10 and 20 times, and counted frames from controller movement to HMD lenses turning green and counted the frames and averaged them.

Conclusion: WiFi headsets have up to 2 times longer latency, than wired (increase from 40 - 80 in worst case scenario). More than that, scene complexity (plain color vs noise) does change the encoder/decoder delay significantly, realistic case must be somewhere between noise and plain colors.

The Quest 3 native games are such dogshit. How the hell are they spending billions of dollars to put out this crap? I get that it's mobile hardware but I would rather it look worse than constantly stutter and lag. Every time you put it to sleep and pick it up again it gets worse and worse every time. Had the Batman game freezes for multiple seconds at a time until I restarted the headset. Even on a fresh reboot is stutters constantly. Why does not one of the YouTube shills mention this?
