So turns out that C# resolves namespace names before any local names, including parent namespaces. you can set a cage or make it generate a cage
so the raycasts are fired from the cage down to the base mesh
the cage has to be an exact duplicate of the model you're baking just Fatten scaled outwards so the original base is inside the fattened cage duplicate

benefit of making your own cage is you can increase and decrease the cage in certain areas to get rid of baking artefacts on complex objects

you can also just use the Multi-Resolution modifier
it will add subdivisions to your model and when you have a Multi-Res modifier instead of your sculpting destructively modifying your mesh, the Multi-Res modifier will contain all the sculpt information making it non-destructive
so it will contain both the original lower poly form and a higher poly form with sculpt modification information on the same model
you can then just bake from Multi-Res and it will use both the low poly original and higher poly sculpt data on that model

For Raytracing you need device memory location. You have to ask "what is the device address of this gpu allocation", then you do your stuff on it.
You don't control where gpu allocates memory, the address is just returned to you, and I'm not sure if it's virtual or not, but if you reroll enough times, gpu can return exactly the same same.

In the meantime until eu jong time i recommend a few offline matchs in mahjong soul to learn the ropes.

Heres the bare minimum basics to get you started. You make a hand of 3 sets of triplets or sequences of the same suite(think poker), and 1 pair of the same tile. Discard tiles that "float", like don't connect with other tiles.

Example: you have 134 in the same suite. You'd cut the 1 since it doesn't belong with the 34. Same thing with the winds and dragons if you have them by themselves otherwise if you have a pair of the same wind/dragon you'll want to hang on to them. Theyre called honors and youvcan only make a pair or triplet of them. Keep your hand closed and never call: when you play there's 2 buttons to your left. Starting out its recommended you press the Call one socits red, and you have to keep pressing it whenever someone joins the map(Tilegun), the baby mode there tells you how far you are from tenpai(ready hand) and then you'll see a funny vutton saying riichi. You press that and select a tile to discard and then you wait until you get a prompt saying tsumo or ron. When someone else riichis ideally you look at the middle discard area and discard whatever they discarded so you don't deal in, basically folding.

No, it's not related to the memory allocation, I'm pretty sure at this point.
Imagine if the gpu was a hotel and you came with 3 people (memory buffer for each frame). You say "I need three 1-person rooms", GPU responds with "Ok, use room 1, 2, 7", if there are ten rooms total, there would be 10!/(3!*7!) possible premutations.
I keep redoing it until it gave me room 1,2,3 with bad perf and then room 1,2,3 with good perf.

Perframe data is already using the same buffer.

Anyway, it's not that complicated really. That's just something I did to make sure the perf difference is not related to the gpu memory allocation on my side.

I suspect it's runtime shader compilation from spirv to machine code that gpu actually executes.
But just recreating the pipeline didn't help, I had to do full instance recreation.
Very weird overall.

There is actually a special technique to draw things like powerlines well.

I know I'm retarded but I've been wasting way too much time with this so I thought I'd ask: what on earth am I supposed to do with the animator object from a booth model I bought? I tried adding it directly to the avatar, adding it to gesturemanager- nothing works, I can't get the hand-triggered faces to work in game nor can I get gesturemanager to detect any emotes. What am I missing here? I don't think there's anything wrong with this avatar as I had a free one that had the same file set up (prefab/texture folders and animation folder). I just don't know what to do with the animation folder. In the tutorials online, they just drag their avatar into unity and it magically works.

Vermillion is an oil-painting-sim
surprising amounts of detail. Pressure and angle and all that matters for brush strokes. Has an undo button, video player (for painting tutorials) and a paint by numbers thing that works pretty good

as good of a sim as it is, it can be very difficult to use a VR controller with no tactile feedback. You can sorta cheat it by having your virtual easel up against a wall or something and then use your controller against that surface I suppose.

It's won't directly teach you anything, but sketching in 3d and being able to check how the form looks at different angles can sort of help with 2d drawing I guess. But I have my own little world or two, it's just that I'm not using those for a home world. Give world-making a shot now, there's no need to wait for some perfect knowledge scenario. Slapping together furniture and environment models from booth/unity store is tons of fun, and you'll learn a lot just from that. Sounds like nothing, but once you'll put some models on it, you'll have to generate light, and that alone suddenly becomes a good chunk of knowledge that you can learn in easy and pleasant way while aimlessly playing sims house building in Unity.

You also won't learn much until you'll start doing it.

God, I felt this one. Some people play well with gathering information, some prefer to fuck around and find out. I might be projecting, but if I'm right, I bet it'd be better for you to just open unity and start doing things with minimal knowledge. You can google for answers to your questions as you go, and for some, it's far easier to be lost, then ask, and then and receive answers, rather than have answers to questions pushed into you before you've ever asked them.

Start small. 3 sets and a pair. 3 sets of sequence in the same suit, or triplets of the same tile. Pair works the same way but has to be two of the same tile. Turn off Calls to avoid the chi/pon/open kans (the button needs to be red, you have to do this constantly at Tilegun when someone joins, but not the vrg parlors), and focus on discarding tiles which don't connect with other tiles (like 672, you discard the 2), and you keep doing this until you see funny riichi button, click it, discard title with highest tile count and gg until you see a ron or tsumo, and hit auto discard so it goes by faster. The basics really are just that easy. Stuff like yaku and open-hands you'll learn later.
