Knife dropping was important balance as anon mentioned. A sneaky player could kill an entire team in seconds and if you bring it back I will happily do this. Knife already hard counters any weapon at close range and currently it has a limit of one easy kill before pickup so it doesn't completely counter team rushing.
Buy extra knives if you have a specific knife strat in mind.

Depends on how solid it is.

The ideal fix will require either a 3D printer or some woodworking skils and a chisel, but if you're just trying to hold that plastic at that static position it should be fine for now.

The issue mainly is that theres nothing mechanical holding in place. It's just some sort of epoxy bond. There's no screws, bolts, anything keeping it still and together.

So you can technically play HEVC, if you give MPEG-LA money for the "HEVC video extension" on the microshaft store (which is currently down because azure is down, lel). You can also technically play av1 files too if you get that extension instead (free). But since everyone has to get the extension, it's usually easier just to transcode to h264.

For web serving on localhost I recommend using `caddy file-server` since `python -m http.server` doesn't support range requests (which breaks seeking). but otherwise yeah, any web server works.

A little bit sad since it's VLC decoding the video, OBS reencoding the video to h264, mediafoundation/avpro decoding the video back to frames, then if you're on a zucc headset, steamlink/virtual desktop reencoding the video screen, streaming it to your headset, which decodes it the 3rd time to put the pixels in front of your eyeballs. But it works at least.

Are any of the multiplayer VR games still alive? Was kind of interested in trying out a shooter like pavlov or contractors, but the player count seems pretty low and pavlovs been getting negative reviewed to hell. The cod zombies mods do look pretty good aswell.

Long answer is it depends on what you mean by "alive". any game with quest crossplay (hyperdash, breachers, forefront soon) will generally have full lobbies available at any time of day, but it'll be mostly squeaky kids during the day. Pavlov/Contractors will have dry periods during the weekday, but are active enough on nights/weekends. If you want to play with people in this thread, pavlov has enough players in vrg locally to get ~20 player games every week, and enough people own contractors that you can usually get a few players for a cod zombies session.

Go down the list, normals often dont need to be bigger than 1024, diffiuse textures are usually fine at 1024, sometimes 2048 for highly detailed ones. (face textures, for example)
Nothing should be 4k other than REALLY specific things.
Masks, roughness, metallic, ao's etc are usually fine at 512 or 1024 for more detailed ones.

"YosaVR" is the combination of "Yosakoi" and VR. Yosakoi is a (modern) japanese folk dance style, which often relies on using accessories.

What is it:
Similar format to the Fumo/Gremlin event, show up in a funny themed avatar, we go explore some thematic relevant worlds where the furniture would look funny (definitely some CSS maps), then prop hunt raid pugs and the like for shits and giggles.

What you should do:
Make an avatar centred around furniture!
Make a disguise for yourself by simply wearing a lampshade on your head.
Sit your fumo on a chair or sofa and add extra seat prefabs for people to plop themselves down.
Hide in the closet, then jump out of it!
Have a picture of yourself on a bedside stand or stuck to a mug.
Stick your head in a jar if you want to make it spooky or, even worse, in a toilet.

To help with this endeavour, I've exported a selection of Half Life 2 furniture into FBX format with PNG textures for ease of use and did some rudimentary sorting, including a folder of "Frames and Screens" that'll be useful for sticking your face on something. Thumbnails/Previews are JPGs with a "_t" suffix for easy sorting.

If you alter the armature in unity it will break the FBX link which means that if you ever make a change in blender you will have to start over in unity (or pumpkin copy everything over, which doesn't work that well as avatars get more complicated).

Benchmarks show that transform count probably matters more than component count. (ex 2 physbone components with 100 transforms each = 1 component with 200 transforms).
