i bought the kevin minion router during black friday and setup a dedicated wifi 6E for my quest 3 for vrchat, but whenever i download a world or a bunch of people at once the screen locks up in one of those flat screens where i can see the black edges if i move my head and the headset basically almost locks up. what am i missing here? i ran tests on the router after i set it up and it seems perfectly fine for everything except for when i use my headset with it

Oh no, he did pop the flares. The idea is to bait the flares with one engie and expose himself as the threat while forcing the heli to flare. Then with the flares exhausted the other engineers that are spread out come out of cover to get their locks. The heli pilots cant take all of them out and so must stop its attack run and break the line of sight or get blown up

The heli should not be able to decide a match, or force 2-3 guys to play AA to keep him at bay. It should be an occasional threat. It is so fucking simple, really.

Okay, so I played the Thief VR for 2 levels.
I dunno why someone said it's got locked TAA, it's not, it's running unity, with nice baked lighting and MSAA. Looks sharp, level geometry/textures are good enough, runs great.
The first level is extremely linear it's kinda a tutorial level anyway. The second is pretty much open "puzzle", you'll have to figure out ways to open doors, bypass guards etc, but eventually you'll open the whole level to yourself. Kinda like Resident Evil 2. You can very easily speedrun each mission and just kill all the guards, it's kinda like Hitman in that regard. Guards are quite stupid and fighting them 1 v 1 is very easy, but also strangely satisfying, you need to parry them to knock them out. They don't really come to help other yelling guards, avoiding them is mostly staying in shadows and moving quietly, sometimes need to throw something to distract them and go through lit area.
The game excels in "exploration" though. Finding all the loot, secret loot, keys to even more secret loot and loot behind fake walls, is pretty fun. Doing that without fighting guards or not being spotted is gonna be the real challenge of the game, kinda like getting silent assasin in Hitman. Stealing shit feels kinda like in The Walking Dead - you rummage through shelves, cupboards, everywhere and steal everything what's not glued to the ground. But unlike Walking Deadit is converted directly into money, so you don't need to worry about inventory management - inventory is there only for key items like, ekhm, keys, quest items, food. Finding all the secrets in a level is pretty fun and I enjoyed the game for now. Some views are also pretty beautifull.

It's fine that way if your internet speed is well under 1gbps, but at 1gbps any CDN (like VRchat's asset delivery) can choke out the headset's control data to the PC, causing the PC to stall frame delivery whenever downloads are maxing out the link.

Quest 4 is obviously just Zucc targeting at already existing VR users that just want high end HMD. It's not subsidised because they're obviously not expecting to move large amount of units with this approach. It's going for the niche market from get go.

When I play some vr games (noticed it in Metro) I feel short (/more realistically close to the floor)
Why? I don't really feel it in real life

It's probably this. The point at which the height calibration scales perfectly to the model is too tall so you feel shorter than usual. It's quite common for game characters to be the same height so it will be jarring when even the female characters heightmog you.

I think it's better than attempting to scale the playspace to match the model as I've noticed in some games (Thief VR) that I can't even touch the floor without using the crouch button.

VR is saved

Tried Roboquest VR, pretty fun. Turned off turning (smooth at 1%) so I stopped accidentally turning when I'm trying to double jump. Game glitched where I couldn't switch weapons and could only bash. Feels a bit overwhelming at first but definitely want to play more, and can't wait for multiplayer. Never played the game when it came out either without the VR so it's pretty fresh.

It wasn't until I finished my robot that I met an artist who told me about these settings. You can turn off twist on some joints, I wouldn't have had to make everything a ball joint otherwise.
Also for knee and shoulder caps, you can add a third bone sticking out of the joint and constrain it to always point away from the joint and paint the cap to that.

They are different worlds.
Tilegun is the specific map euros use to play in, and has a prefab similar to the one you're already familiar with.
Tanki has a prefab where you pick up the tiles, ron, tsumo, and make all calls manually, so the game lasts longer, and is way more punishing for new players.

If you like VR, you'll like it on any headset. I own a quest 2 and a quest pro, and I don't mind using my 2 still. Sure pancake lenses are way better, but it doesn't change what VR is fundamentally like. You'll have just as much fun on a q2 as you will on a q3.

Still a great headset. VR has been a trickle for near a decade now, it's very easy to justify waiting. You can skip a generation without missing out on much. The longer you wait, the better the value, whether that means saving up enough to buy a new Frame or Q4 at launch, or just waiting for a used Q3 to get cheap enough for you, it'll still be an upgrade and you'll get more for your money than you would've today.

Someone, anyone, please agree with me, please, I'm desperate here - I need to justify why I still daily-drive my Slampig Odyssey. I've lost count of the different headbands I've used and I can't get good facial interfaces anymore so I have to use extra-thick Vive ones that don't fit right. Microsoft dropped WMR entirely so I'm stuck in Windows 10 because this is one of the few headsets affected by a bug in Oasis that fucks up the distortion correct so I can't upgrade to Win11 and Oasis yet. I don't want to replace the cable again. I don't know how much longer I can hold out. I couldn't even work up the energy to move the 3.5mm jack mod over to this new headstrap, I'm just going to use Bluetooth earbuds and accept the 90ms delay as penance. This is all Palmer Luckey's fault, unless it isn't but then it's /vrg/'s fault. The light inside me is dying.
