It's not bait, but my experience in learning anything and what I've witnessed in others. Most people have the delusional view that they can just linearly grind anything they want to a high level and the only reason that doesn't always happen is because they stopped too early. The reality is an almost complete plateau with minimal gains beyond the first few weeks even with a lifetime of input. I've never seen anyone who genuinely progresses from bad to good over a long period of time. They're either immediately good at it, drop it early on because they're making no progress, or in rare cases stubbornly grind on for years, even decades, while making less progress than someone else will in the first week.

The similarities SHOULD NOT be an excuse to make them into identical clones but instead be used as a lesson on why vr is innately different and that the difference should be leaned into to make something unique and better within the scope of the subgenre rather than attempting to copy it one to one including all the flaws.

Nah but you do need to play at higher difficulty ratings to get any interesting enemies that aren't just slow skeleton and slow zombie. Usually around tier 4 you start getting elemental enemies, enemy attack patterns change and it gets a lot more hectic. My main drama with using bolt action (on a quest at least). The time it takes to make the thing work and re-acquire a good sight picture (especially on magnified scopes) means I'm taking loads of time for shots unless it's a sniper V. sniper battle where we're not moving much anyways.

One of the cooler ways to play the game is to go full ranger build, bow/crossbow/spear on the back and daggers/axes at the side. The game has some pretty aggressive auto-aim as well which helps in the dungeon. Grabbing the daggers by the blades to chuck them doesn't change the damage but it feels pretty cool.
