What is this?
A celebration of anon’s varied groups and activities.
For one day /vrg/ turns into a full blown school festival, with rooms, booths, attractions and little corners of chaos all hosted by the different groups and friend circles around the community.

Come wander the grounds and visit what anons have cooked up.
Games, exhibits, hangouts, performances, themed rooms, comfy spots, weird ideas, good ideas, dumb ideas made real.
The whole point is to let every part of /vrg/ show its face and make something fun for everyone else to enjoy.

If you’ve ever wanted to host something, decorate a room, run a booth, make a club attraction, show off your group’s gimmick or just contribute to the general festival atmosphere, this is the event for it.
Big or tiny projects, polished or scuffed projects, they all have a place in a school festival.

This is both a social event and a showcase.
A chance to see what all the different corners of /vrg/ are up to, meet people you don’t normally bump into and enjoy an entire map full of anon-made activities all in one place.

Specially if you are currently or have hosted weekly/monthly/occasional events before and currently!
COME AND SHILL, Grow your club, Entice another anon to try what you love doing!

What are some good, comfy public game worlds on VRC? I don't really want to play an idle game, but would like something I can just sit in my beanbag in and play without much issue. Zombie Survival is good for this, but it's kind of "involved" as far as games go and you do still have to pay decent attention or otherwise die.

If the answer to all of the above was yes, download some workshop maps and play away. I recommend the F-45A Desert cobra campaign for starters. It's a vanilla campaign but with a plane built for ipad babies on easy mode. Learn to quicksave, and some hotkeys like clicking thumbstick to do targeting, and triggering sides of head for visor.

I would add btw don't be frustrated if you need to quicksave/quickload often. It takes some time to learn what is a threat and how to engage. Check out some guides on missile evasion that are in the manuals on the wiki as they might not be obvious to learn in game without direct teaching.

Hey everyone, here's an update on Lavenders development over the last few years and what we are going to be doing moving forward.

## Short update:
Lavender has been out of prototyping and in production for the last six months.

## Development overview of the last few years
### 2022
Development on the Unity version of the game runs into ambition limits. We ask ourselves: what is the game and what are our goals? We decided to start developing prototypes for what a better lavender would look like. We create the following prototypes of the core vr gameplay with UGC loading:
### 2022 - WebXR
We ran into lots of web limitations that severely hamper the experience you could get out of it. The majority of complex systems would require a client side application, not just a web page which is not how people expect web apps to work. Client side application requirement rules out simple WebXR on Quest / Standalone headsets. WebXR also would require lots of server side bandwidth from us, which we are trying to avoid.
### 2022-2023 - Unreal Engine
Unreal ends up running worse even when tuned and set to forward rendering in VR. Their UGC pipeline is more intended for DLC for games. When abused for player modding it comes with a lot of limitations for scripting, shaders, and content building through a full unreal editor. For any ITR2 players, I assume at Security Level 4 and pushing into the Pechorsk Outskirts apartment blocks that all of the 5.56/5.45 rifles are completely useless with all the heavily armoured mimics running around (and the sniper mimics still survive a couple headshots). I found that any 5.56/5.45/5.39 weapon works fine so long as you can put 2-6 aimed shots into a target. The idea is not really to one tap them but to put enough bullets in their area until you hear them die.

Put a suppressor on your guns. Managing aggro is the best approach around the apartment blocks. If you catch an enemy by surprise and kill them quickly you're unlikely to take any return damage and it won't aggro the others.

There's no need to, unless you REALLY want to optimize for bone count, which normally isn't a big deal. You should leave them separate and have physbones controlling both bone chains, that way the ear fluff can wiggle around inside the ear.

The large unweighted end bones can be ignored or deleted if you want.

Getting back into VR project work and trying out the various quest sdk features added since the last time I poked at it years ago.

Some time ago they added a 'travel mode' to the quest, which their docs say is to support vr usage on planes or trains where their standard tracking wasn't working.

I put together a MR test application and tried it out in what I would consider to be a very challenging environment for tracking. I was amazed at how well it worked. I assumed that travel mode would mean it just reverts to some head-locked windows but it actually does full 6dof tracking with reasonably good quality.

I have absolutely no idea how it manages to keep coherent tracking in an environment with random sudden acceleration in all directions and an unstable background, but somehow it works. Very impressed with meta.

Singleplayer game with supernatural stalker elements and missions better than most extraction shooters. Loot goblining is fun because you don't have to hoard a bunch of retarded trash for missions that have "collect x5 household items" or find a shopping list of crap to upgrade the base, anything not needed can be liquefied and everything else is relevant for playing the game not just ticking boxes.
