I don't mind being recorded when i'm doing funny stuff on purpose, but there's a couple of people around here who should really chill out with this shit. To be entirely honest, i'm not happy about being recorded at all. They removed reloading on single and double barrel shotguns, making them too OP, especially when dual-wielded. I had to impose some rules on myself (not to dual-wield them, not to fire too often) to make the game playable with them.
In vanilla game getting rammed by BVLL sends you flying, meaning you're at least saved from consecutive hits from other BVLLs, in broken VR port they just surround you and ram all at the same time, resulting in an instant death. Despite this, Kukulkan's whirlwinds (which basically have the same effect but stronger) still work as they should.
Regarding puzzles with gravity, only a couple of them were broken in HD remasters, but in VR port none of them work, even trampoline platforms are disabled, causing huge troubles with evading enemies on certain levels (namely the segment in the corridor of death where the player must cross multiple rows of trampolines and the final battle).
It's still an enjoyable game in VR, but it could've been even better had they note deliberately break it for the benefit on a non-existing demographic.

Ok, so I've tested new Assetto Corsa Evo patch - 0.8

Holy shit, they fixed VR performance, it's like 2x-3x faster now.

In low pop servers, on a small track I'm actually getting stable, silky smooth 90 FPS at 3000x3000 per eye. In 42 person Nordshleife I get stable 45 FPS. On Ryzen 5800x3d and Nvidia 5090. 5070-5080 should be able to get stable 45 FPS at these settings at low population servers.

Funny enough NONE of the graphical settings except of the render resolution have ANY effect on performance, foveated rendering included, I didn't go super high on the settings but swapping from low to medium has litterally ZERO effect on frametimes, even the mirrors. Maybe you need to restart the game for it to fully have any effect? But I do see the settings changing how the game looks.

They also added a VR resolution slider in game, so even if the game doesn't listen to SteamVR resolution changes, you can change your resolution on the fly.

3k x 3k with 2X MSAA look so much better, I had to run at 2k x 2k per eye before or less to get stable 45 before.

I get that but they're pushing a non-VR experience onto a VR headset when a VR version exists. It's crazy. It's clear they can't just be like 'install this mod lmao' or officially promote or support it, but that's the problem. VR mods are a massive pile of VR experiences that would help with their VR chicken and egg problem that they can't dip into. They need to be adding things like 'vr mod support' as an official steam page option. Valve would definitely react positively if portal 2 vr mod maker wanted to put it on steam, but be honest with yourself. The player camera is headset 6dof and the gun is 6dof'd to the controller and it's fully playable with vr controllers. That's kind of all you need, really. Make a good game first, then make it VR. Your interaction with the world is with your player camera and with the gun so in essence, everything but the morph ball is a vr interaction.
Something that bothers me a little is that the lock-one mode is so integral to fights that you're forced to use it. It works fine in VR but it'd be nice to have a greater VR integration, like you lock on but your view doesn't move to the lockon position. Maybe I submit an issue, the dude is releasing updates every couple days and it's gotten way better in just a couple weeks.
