That may be true in a sense but the bigger, more important thing is the software. Quest OS software has gotten REALLY bad recently, and while Valve's software isn't exactly perfect (SteamVR still feels like an eternal beta program) it's far less frustrating than Meta's.

If you're literally just planning on using it as a goon machine for koikatsu and koikatsu alone and you need something available right now, then ignore my previous advice and go with a Quest 3.
It's a fantastic headset hardware-wise, you'll just be dealing with software headaches sometimes.

I've used SteamOS on Steam Deck and don't really have many issues with it.
My main experience is with SteamVR for many years and any frustration I felt about its bugs pales in comparison to the Quest bugs.

I don't think SteamOS software is going to be a bug-free experience, I just know FOR SURE it's going to be better than Meta's HorizonOS.
Because between Valve and Meta only one of these companies has fired thousands of their employees in favor of overseas Pahjeets and AI.
And that REALLY shows in the current state of HorizonOS.

Yes and it's entirely random, it happens when you bounce between different regional servers, API servers simply fail to pass your state between CDNs and you'll be stuck with completely broken friendlist. That's separate issue from the usual queues and invites not working, that's just API simply dropping your requests because you're the unlucky sucker that got hit with load balancing because the server is melting. Only way to fix it is to restart VRC and hope you connect to API through CDN that isn't hosted on RasPi. Have fun, remember to subscribe to VRC+.

I will say the opposite that the people on the past thread: I think the Q3 software has gotten better for PCVR. Not that it is nice, it's still got bugs. But 2 years ago it was way worse, nowadays at least it works smoothly even though it's very limited in features. In the meantime, even Steam Link works better on Q3. VD has got worse, plagued with decoding stutter which Guy says it's Meta fault, however the other softwares don't have this problem.

Even though the 64 bit update is better for most people, it has screwed over VR with pretty bad stuttering for most people, so we'll have to switch over to the legacy version of the game that is on 32 bits. I'm playing Resident Evil 4 VR in Spanish for ultimate immersion (the game takes place in Spain).
It doesn't have a Spanish dub, but that means the dialogue between Leon and his American colleagues is still in English, but the villagers shout at you in Spanish and the notes etc. you find lying around are Spanish as well, so this works pretty nicely.

I wish games that take place across cultural boundaries would generally let you select multiple languages to keep things as authentic as possible, instead of having everything in a single language.

I've enjoyed CoD zombies in Pavlov and Contractors (I don't remember which is the best one at the moment). Pavlov has the better CoD Zombies maps now but I don't think I've seen anyone host a lobby for them since the new versions released.
The Minecraft zombie maps were better for large playercount. Currently there's only the desert one but the guy who made them is apparently updating and porting the old ones over before making a new one.

The Hidden is also a fun gamemode that would fit in well alongside prop hunt, TTT and the custom Infection gamemode.
Push unfortunately sucks when not enough people turn up. The only maps that work well below 20 players are the Day of Defeat ports.
