Do any experienced unity gents have a moment to tell me if this is possible? So I want to make a prop that stays in place while activated, but follows the player position while not active. I know I can most likely achieve this with rigidbodies, but I'm a bit of a Rigidbody and joint brainlet. I've done something similar by mistake, but I've no idea how to recreate it. Yes and no. So the resolution increase is indeed nice, and the screendoor is less of an issue, not to mention it's easier to put on and configure. The weight is more evenly distributed so it's not all on the front of your face. It's definitely more comfortable, excluding the shitty built on earphones. But you can take them off anyway. It really comes down to it being an enthusiast piece instead of a consumer piece. It's an upgrade for sure. Oh and instead of using a 3.5mm audio jack, you connect your own headphones through a USB type C, so I imagine you can get better quality from it than the jack on the regular vive. HTC just fucked up their own job again.

hi I'm unironically yuru and I can confirm that pretty much all you need to do to get into beta is ask nicely. They said they needed new testers because they were running low and overheard me griping about wanting to see the camera, so they let me on the beta server.

ask for beta access and put a little time in actually trying to break stuff (which many of you guys are smarter about than I'll ever be) and you'll be a great addition to the beta test.

for any of you degenerates interested in voice changers, I messed around a bit with icram trax v3, an industrial strength VST. It's designed for actual audio production, so you have to host it in a DAW, but it seems to work well enough. I couldn't record live audio for reasons, so I used a podcast as input instead:

You can also play with the formant pitch and young/old male/female sliders for custom voices, with varying degrees of realism. While not useful for larping as an anime girl, the "flat/expressive" slider is also funny as a special effect, where 100% flat gives you essentially a fixed-pitch vocoder. Later in the video I mess with input EQ and output reverb, which fill out the sound more while squashing artifacts from low/high frequencies. Obviously the nice dry studio recording of the podcast is hard to replicate for live use, but overall, it seems plausible.

This might sound like sort of a confusing question but does anyone else have issues with their overrides popping back up for a split second when you use a different override afterwards? For example if I had a song that played when I do the rock n roll gesture and I stop it, sometimes when I open my hand I hear it again for a split second. I’ve only got 2 frames, one at 0 and one at 0:01 so I don’t get it. This pretty much happens on every avatar that has some kind of effect on the overrides.
