It's not though. A handful of people with unoptimized avatars isn't going to make your frames drop by like 15-20 fps. If EVERYONE had unoptimized avatars as opposed to fully atlassed ones, yes, you would experience those frame drops. But just a handful of people? Unless they're like 100 draw calls each, it's just not possible to lose that much fps from a small amount of people.

The stuttering and fps drops also seems to be a bug relating to the last two patches, a lot of us have noticed it. Everyone's frames will just randomly completely drop and stutter hardcore when someone joins the room sometimes. It's not that person's fault, it's just whatever this bug is that's causing it to happen. Drop a portal and have everyone go through it, and the fps stuttering stops, meaning it's not people's avatars, it's some sort of fps bug that happens after awhile of staying on the same map. I don't even know if Tupper or any of the devs have acknowledged it.

Just added mine following >>215933609 and >>215933662 's advice. I don't have trackers so not sure if it'll work with FBT but I honestly see no reason why it shouldn't. The jist of it is just creating a new animation, adding the blink shapekey and doing the blinks with 3 frames separated by 0.5 seconds each, so you know you can set the shapekey at 0 which does nothing and at 100 which makes your eyes closed right? So the 3 frames would be something like: the first one is 0, then the next one(located 0.5 seconds after) 100 and the next one(located 0.5 seconds after too) 0 again. Then you just copy that to add more blinks at different times so that it looks more natural. The average person blinks 3 times each 10 seconds play around with that.

My effort in my avatars were validated when someone suggested, upon seeing the gimmicks in my avatar, to have some kind of contest for avatar creativity.
I've been looking for an outlet for my ideas and VRChat is just the right thing.

Someone already blocked me. Best case I can assume is she wasn't familiar with my name and was paranoid from that 4chan crash/steal hoax. She wasn't in her usual avatar and was a nikei all day. Yes. I think you can even do additive blendshapes, ie: doing one hand half closes your eyes, doing both fully closes them. Though I guess you could already do that with duplicated blendshapes with different names.
