I was looking to see some 360 stereo images in VR but couldn't find any free program to do it - so I did my own.
it's as simple as dropping the 360 stereo image to the executable. I've included a sample pic that is shown if no file is used, a 8K screenshot taken from Dragon Quest XI.

You can get 28+1 gestures if you set them up to combine meaningfully and 49+1 if you employ reverse shape keys.

For people who'd like to challenge themselves to this puzzle, without having going through the dungeon and without time constraints, here it is, put clearly:
In the image, the red and green boxes are the wooden panels blocking your way, the blue circle is the player collider, and the black lines are the switches. Here is what the switches do when flipped:
Left: toggles both green panels, and toggles the bottom two red panels.
Middle: turns both green panels off, toggles the top red panel, and turns the middle red panel on.
Right: turns the left green panel on, and toggles the top and bottom red panels.
What is the order you have to flip the switches in so that the player can go through?

If you really want to challenge yourself, try doing this all in your mind, and with a time limit like, say, 5 minutes. ;)

However, if you want a hint, here is a possible way to think about solving this puzzle:
Since changes only happen one stage at a time, you can think about each as a state. If the last state is an opening the size of the player or bigger, then think about which switch you might have needed to press to get there, right before that opening was created. Perhaps only one switch actually can create such an opening, at that last state, so maybe that can make things easier by decreasing the amount of branching possibilities. Then you essentially keep doing the same thing. If that switch was pressed at that state, then which switch could've been pressed in the state before to get to that state?

And if you want to cheat, here is a possible solution, where 1 means the left switch, 2 the middle, and 3 the right:

Reposting. If anyone wants a nice single player adventure try luxerion world

Neos is pretty damn neat. Real easy to import models and create worlds all without leaving VR. It even supports a large degree of scripting in an almost Labview like graphical programming language.
I do think it needs a little more work on usability, particularly the main menu was hard to keep track of since everything spawned a panel that was easy to accidentally move. I'd also like to see a few additional locomotion options added and movement speed tweaked faster in general. I have no idea how well the social aspect works as I only ran across what I assume was a single desktop player who wasn't interested in talking.
However, as a "metaverse engine" it's probably the strongest contender of anything else I've tried yet.

One thing that annoys me was the button for the mag release was also the same button for the bolt release, very often I dropped the mag out of the gun, wish they could make the two function separate, like in onward.

I am tired of vrchat as it is. There's nothing to do. That's why I added custom scripting. I see people with thousands of hours in VRChat and wonder how can they not tire of it.

Okay, big fucking wow from me.
I managed to fix my rift microphone problem;

Last night my computer downloaded the win10 august update. As well as breaking a bunch of minor QoL programs I use it completely and utterly removed all ability to use the microphone on my rift, no audio was being transmitted to any application.
I then discovered, when I had to actually do some fucking work, that my main fucking recording microphone wasn't working either, a Zoom H6. This drove me to desperation and I was THIS close to rolling back the update when I discovered a fix.

The august update added a nice little switch in Settings > Privacy > Microphone called "Allow apps to access your microphone", which defaults to off and just kills all microphone usage, nothing can use any microphone input except "Windows". It very specifically states that it doesn't block "Windows" from accessing your microphone which is unusual because it even goes as far as stopping the "Sound" window in control panel, which I assumed was part of fucking windows. I have torn my fucking setup apart and put it back together twice looking for a fault over this. Fucks sake.

Thanks microsoft, I can always count on you to really make sure my prostate is thoroughly hammered.

this is a common misconception. Worlds or avatars do not contain scripts, only serialized script data (for example, the value of a float or a color) that provides the necessary data for a script to work. In order to actually make the script/mod work, you need to have that script/mod installed in the Extra folder, otherwise the script/mod literally doesn't exist in your client. it's totally safe as long as you don't drop shady mods into that folder.

There’s a bunch of ways to do it. If you want to play a ton of different tracks, you’ll want to use the video sync player with the renderer set to api only. It has drawbacks though. It gets really laggy if there’s a lot of people there. If you only want to play a handful of tracks or a compressed album, you can use the audio bank component or just enable/disable the audio sources with triggers.

if you want your mic to be even better, try voicemeeter banana. I don't even use steamvr's mirror function anymore.
Voicemeeter allows you to apply vst to the audio chain and clean up the mic's general quality. I installed a windscreen on my vive's internal mic, put some ducking and gain control on it, added midtone and bass boost, and now I sound fantastic through the garbage 2$ mic they included in the vive without rigging in a boom mic or using a headset.

5-6 materials is actually just fine, if you have one MESH. If you use optimized shaders on the MATERIAL or a single texture for more than one material, or use the same material in a different material SLOT the draw calls are the same, and it allows you to differentiate between parts, and they support instancing, making you cause 0 load in mirrors.
My avatars, verified via the profiler, cause far less load then 65k single material atlased avatars for three reasons:

1) I don't used cubed. My shaders have less load than STANDARD.
2) I use 1-4 dynamic bones. Period. Not chains of bones, 1-4 total bones. or none - This is the biggest killer of frames overall all, by far. It's massively cpu intensive, especially when you have colliders. When more then 3 people in a room have dynamic bone and colliders set up on everything, and you're looking at them at the same time, your frames will go to hell. Especially if you're in front of a mirror that isn't optimized, since now you're doing all that 6+ times for each avatar with antialiasing.
3) I don't have always on particles or a snail pen, or any of the other crazy unoptimized shit people run around with all the time. My shaders support baked and dynamic lighting surfaces and will pick up reflection probes and spheremaps used in optimized maps and use that instead of calculating it at runtime - on things like metallic.
My normals are optimized. I use occlusion culling where I can or manually remove meshes and materials you shouldn't have to render.
The point is this. The things most of you THINK cause problems don't actually cause problems.
75% of it is map lighting, map meshes not being static or bundled, no reflection probes and light probes, and cpu killing things like excessive worldspace particles or always on, unoptimized audio on gestures or avatars (this is huge, the default settings load in a shitty way and most people don't use ogg) emissive materials that throw light from avatars.

You can unscuff anything by simply doing retopology properly, ideally using a real retopo tool. 3d is hard. You're not a brainlet for wanting to use auto decimation but let me tell you something:
2 million verts per frame is what MOBILE PHONE GAMES can do. It's not the mesh. The mesh is literally ZERO of the issue.
Here's a quick trick. use the rectangle selection tool and select your body, avoiding your hands and head. Copy your body to a new object and decimate THAT, ideally with a retopology tool. merge your head and hands back.
It's the texture resolution and CPU intensive stuff that needs to be called frame by frame.
It's why the latest crash using RPC drawcalls on pens is a problem.

Note that "less common bottlenecks" includes things like vertex shaders. Meaning it's almost NEVER a problem.

Common bottlenecks and ways to check for them:
GPU is often limited by fillrate or memory bandwidth.
Lower the display resolution and run the game. If a lower display resolution makes the game run faster, you may be limited by fillrate on the GPU.

What this means for you: lock your VR SS to 1.0, don't stand in front of mirrors with 8x anti aliasing, if you use nvidia make sure you're set to "prefer performance" in the power profile

Check “batches” in the profile window. The more batches are being rendered, the higher the cost to the CPU."

You: Check your avatar in the "profiler" tab in unity in run mode and move it around so that all the dynamic bones or whatever are doing things. Make sure you're being rendered ideally in 1 batch for the mesh and materials.

We're a unique case in that the main game played here (VRChat) is oddly enough the closest you can interact with another human being without actually being in the same room with them.
