Koikatsu models are difficult to export:

1) all the required bones are there, but you need to manually make the armature, as there hierarchy is completely wrong, they all face straight up, and there's too many (eg: four bones in upper arm)

2) the game uses face bones instead of shape keys, so you have to manually them from these

3) the game is heavily reliant on materials instead of textures, so all you get with the extractor is a few flat colors with minor detail. If you rip the textures, you get a few shadow and/or highlight maps. The hair only uses one texture, which is the shadow, and the rest is purely materials; you can't even get the base color.

4) hair meshes came out wrong. I think they're not scaled or aligned correctly.

In other words, it's a huge amount of trivial fixes in addition to artistic skill to remake what cannot be exported.

For the armature, I had the same problem, there are like 800 bones in there. Most of them are "Scaling" bones, i.e. for the sliders in the character creator though, so if you were motivated enough, a python script to fixup the armature and make it humanoid-compatible isn't out of the question. No artistic skill required, just sufficient technical autism.

There's a ton of worlds to just look around at and explore. I honestly think vrchat is one of the best VR experiences out there right now to demo to people, even in "single player", i.e. private instances by yourself only. It's kind of like browsing the early WWW internet. You get cool tech demos, beautiful scenes, minigames, and plenty of geocities-esque "animefan42's web shrine" little worlds. They're not great, but there's a certain charm to it.

The thing is... why would it be too good to be true? Utilizing hardware is something most games do by default. If you had a game that was this CPU bottlenecked, the developers would be asked to properly offload things to separate threads. And scripting is something restricted by VRChat because they don't want to deal with properly limiting it. The support in Unity for scripting already exists obviously, the problem is providing a subset that wouldn't be abused. These are both realistic expectations, just not ones that are realistic for the VRChat team.

It's not so much surprising, just a little disturbing. That aside though, it's quite cool. I've been browsing through the a-frame docs and I'm impressed how much stuff there is there. It's not unity, but it still has a full entity component hierarchy, materials, particle systems, physics, all that, and it just runs in your web browser. In case anyone was curious, this is what you get with the koikatsu exporter plugin plus some straightforward (not automatic, but mechanical) cleanup in blender. Fixing up texture names where possible, and deleting all bones with zero weights assigned. It's still a mess.

In addition to what OP said, some accessories and parts are missing textures. The .ice file references a texture but the exporters doesn't dump the png for you. The UVs are there though, as you can see by the ear/eyes. And sometimes it works perfectly, like the flower on the hairband. The armature has all the bones facing up, which is fixable, but more concerning is that the armature isn't even aligned with the hands. It's all weighted fine, but the origin of rotation is wrong. Could be a blender ice import bug though, possibly mechanical to fix. Other stuff like the boobity bones are out of place, but they are weighted correctly afaict. The face has a ton of bones on it for deformations. Maybe possible to iterate through them with a script and generate some basic visemes and expressions.

(2) Their names are shuffled and each person is given a name for the person they will be making a gift for
(3) Having them make an e-gift (blender or unity file) preferably. Or anything that can be placed inside a RAR file (like a steamcode in a text file or a drawing)(edited)
(4) These RAR files will have to be passworded by the gift maker's password
(5) The gifts then have to be sent to the person they are assigned to as soon as they can (with no password)
(6) Then @Blue we will be respectfully asking you to add a Christmas tree on the center of the christmas map you are making
(7) Under this christmas tree there will be giftboxes (With names on top of them for which person this gift box is for)(edited)
Note: These giftboxes will have a plane hidden inside it with no material

The scoring system is garbage and you shouldn't worry about it. The way to get higher scores in this game is to swing in large arcs and it has nothing to do with rhythm to begin with. As for the beatsaver custom leaderboards, you'll get a shit ton of points for playing popular songs, the more downloads they have the more you'll get. Unfortunately most of those songs have awful beatmaps. I wouldn't even look my own ranking if I were you, unless you want to be stuck playing classics such as "gangman style" or "what does the fox say".

I don't know why joot even fucking bothered adding support for video. I have my ffmpeg script that makes good quality webms under 8mb for about a minute's video from the raw .mp4's shadowplay shits out. It's in a batch file so I have to rename the raw footage and move it to a folder in order to convert it but I'll crop it to my liking with the same script while I'm at it so it's not much extra effort. All of the output gets slapped into streamable because the complete absence of quality /vg/ requires is too much for me to bother writing another script for. You niggers can ctrl+c ctrl+v and get decent quality clips instead of getting your thumbnail and on-site playing of a piece of shit.
