The cheaper way to get into vr is through windows mixed reality (though they have the problems of no interpupilar distance adjustments, limited tracking, and some compatibility issues with games). The only one that has IPD adjustment in WMR is on par price wise with the other two headsets. The rift is a bit cheaper than the vive too and if you don't give a shit about vrchat then I would recommend rift over vive.

if you don't care about vrchat or playing sims in VR, get a PSVR or wait for the Oculus Quest.
PSVR has the shittiest specs but it has the biggest library and the lowest barrier to entry. Quest will be out in a couple of months, is completely self-contained and wireless with full 6-degrees of freedom headset and controllers (unlike the Oculus Go). It won't have everything the pc has but it's got plenty of ports announced so they seem to know what they're doing.

If you are looking for shooter games there are pavlov, contractors and some third game at least
Not sure of scary or exploration games, vrchat has that kind of maps but their quality is limited to the effort the map makers (players) put into them so the quality and length varies
You should try to google "horror games vr" or some similar keywords to see if you can find anything that peaks your interest, make sure that your pc is VR ready before buying headset otherwise you will be stuck with expensive paperweight until you upgrade your rig

There's counterstrike and insurgency vr, lots of room escape games, lots of boxing games, a handful of really good flight sims and racing games, and a bunch more exploration games. Horror is something completely fucking different in vr and I cannot stress enough how intense it can get.
Two things to remember is that it requires a good computer and is much more impressive with room scale so if you can't get at least a 2x2m space and ideally a 5x5m space like a garage or something completely clear with nothing breakable on the boarders then you're missing out on a huge part of it.

pcars2 has all the oval motor speedways you need from America and also proper stock cars

i love pcars2, specially because it allows you to take the weather real time from the location where the track is at and the time that it's currently at, and everything progresses at 1x scale, it's fucking amazing to check forecasts ahead of time IRL and prepare ahead with your setup.

PCars2 is easy to get working with VR, it has better support than AC (it's plug & play), the only problem you might face is that you might need to recenter your VR view position, but it has settings for that.

AC is fun for cruising, but I suck ass at going fast, touge and pretty much everything, but NASCAR I can see myself liking a lot.

I might not get it to be organized this weekend but if I can get a group of people who race we can org this, with PCars2 it's easier to organize games because you just make lobbies (similarly to Pavlov), in AC you actually need to host a dedi server.
In PCars2 it's really easy to drive using an gamepad, if you ever played any of the GTA games with a controller and you were good at driving, you can excel in PCars2 with that skill.
In AC I found it harder to drive using a controller, so I resulted to mouse steering which allows me to make precise turns.
AC is better in a way because you can have custom tracks and cars but it lacks "game polish".
VR makes racing great regardless of the input type you are using, you'll know this once you can get immersed driving using a keyboard, wheel is the best and the only real input method though.
Are NASCARs manual? I'm Yuro, I don't know how automatic works. PC2 has e-brake support?

I have a big ass fan I use for general cooling, I turn them as a last resort - they work surprisingly well if you have a buzz cut/are a bald fucker. The good thing is while they are pretty loud, they don't get in the mic like outside fans do. They get my head cold pretty fast and I think it also stops my eyes from getting sweaty and fogging up the Vive, which for some reason happens much less than when Im airsofting.
Overall I don't regret the purchase, but they do get in the way when I'm spinning and the wire is in the way, and they do take the only USB slot Vive has, so if I wanted a better mic, hooking it up there is out of question.
Also pretty good for extra immersion if you're driving a cabriolet in Assetto Corsa.

it has a "charging" system for weapons much like sword art online, where you old a pose until you have power, and then swing.

The best example for this is all the 556 rifles, each one has only extremely minor advantages over the other- G36 is smoother shooting, ARs are extremely easy to takedown and super modular, AUG has longer barrel/shorter OAL, C93 is aesthetic as fuck and also extremely resistant to jams/bad ammo, AK5 is really reliable and durable, ect
It's all minor differences and most of them don't translate at all to video games short of full on gun autism sims, meaning that in something like Contractors they all feel extremely similar across one class.

Health regen is already really slow. I've had a lot of luck just prodding people from a distance and having them not realize they're still injured, move to point, and die almost instantly from torso shots as a result.
It's not CoD-tier at all, it's just there.
Also full auto on the G3 is really good out to medium range, while full auto on the FAL is a really strong "oh shit" switch, so as long as you aren't running a semi auto sniper which are almost universally worse than the battlerifles, you have a good backup.

Surprisingly this exact thing. I tried the Vintorez first because it's my raifu and didn't like it at all. Should really get back to it now that I actually know how to aim and have a bit more game sense. Tried the FAL later too but recoil was too high to be effective. The AUG pisses me off because I keep clacking the tracking ring of my vive dongs on the other controller when I'm trying to reload but is otherwise really nice. The G3 was my go-to for ages because it's so comfortable to use and the scope is really nice with its irons still under the scope for mid range. Also the charging handle on the left near the barrel is nutworthy convenience. The recoil is just too high for mid range where you're not safe enough to pink but too far to full auto. AK5C just has that nice short profile and not a huge amount of recoil but still plenty of damage. Makes it a really nice close to mid range weapon. The sound design of this game is pretty shit and a lot of the guns sound like garbage but the AK5C is probably one of the only guns that I actually like the sound of.
I don't know really, I haven't tried many of the guns. All I know is that shotguns are fucking garbage and you die too quick to anything else that it's not worth getting fussed about the minor differences.

I think they're simply saying that they're "natively" sensing and calculating VR locomotion, and then translating that to wasd/thumbstick movement, perhaps with specific tuning on a game-by-game basis (hence why they'd specify support for specific games like VRChat). What do you mean by 4 point system? The head, hip, knee, and ankle? First I'm skeptical about being able to get complete accuracy without also a chest IMU, but also it shouldn't be physically possible that one can infer the rotation of the actual foot without an IMU on there. At most, this should provide tracking more similar to Kinect, where the feet are often stuck in an orientation relative to your shin.
