I haven't been able to play much recently but he seems to be figuring it out. He told me a bit ago that he had more success with the regular rifles than the awp. Interesting though. What are some decent VR games I can use to introduce friends to VR? I've read the OP pastebin and none of them really seem like the type of game that would be good for a first introduction or what they're interested in (one like active games, one wants more of flightsim-type stuff, and one likes artistic things. Ideally free, because I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars demoing things to them. So far on hte list I've got Beat Saber, Talos Principle, Tilt Brush, and maybe Elite Dangerous (but that seems like it might take time to get into the meat of the game).

Open to suggestions. I really don't want to dick about with setting things up for Oculus games so Vive preferred.

This was in the prototype world.
I'm not sure if the author is aware of this but m+kb can still utilize the climbing mechanics.

It's just a wave arena fighter at the moment. Recent update brought leg tracking and index support but also killed compatibility with all the mods so it's a bit dry on the modding front at the moment. Lack of content is the big thing right now though their plans are to make it into a dungeon crawler. Combat is very well done though. Nice and brutal.

The Valve Index is noticeably better then any other headset I have tried. Screen door is still there, but it has been significantly reduced and motion clarity is great, likely due to the refresh rate and low persistence panel. Really it is the only headset out that I would recommend people buy. If they don't want to fork out $1k? I would tell them to just wait two years until microled headsets hit the market with 4k each eye and the 4080ti that pushes the pixels. Not that that would be any cheaper.

The problem with vr racers is that you're always looking mostly forward and there isn't any reason to look around you. Even when you're drifting around a corner it's not that much of a head turn. Car combat you'd have to look all around you to make sure you're not getting flanked. Would be much better for vr.

Bought the Index controllers after using vive wands for nearly 2 years and I absolutely love them, even their implementation in vrchat. On Rift you know if you're touching the button or not so you know what your face is doing without even looking at your hand. With Index, you have no idea which fingers are even moving without looking at your hand, and even then you can't be sure because it might be slightly off the correct hand pose to activate it, so you have to check the camera/mirror. The precision, immersion, and intuitive control is completely gone and the hand pose usually just looks like some crippled mess because it doesn't track 1:1 even on the single axis it can detect and often tracks the wrong finger. The ability to have a custom hand pose for holding something is gone. You're forced to have rock and roll so you can no longer put an override on middle finger or ok sign, which was what the hand position on Rift reflected.

You don't know what I'm talking about because you're never used a touch controller but it's a massive step backwards.
