I tried keeping my sword down and trying to move my arms like in B&S but didn't notice any difference

now, the combat itself isn't that bad, rather, there's some good in there, but it's basically a shittier B&S, the physics kinda shit the bed when you try funky stuff with two weapons at the same time and sometimes the enemies' blades go right through yours when you try to parry them (and when you CAN, because the weird ass ninja moves they pull every now and then makes it really hard, to say the least)
and if you also simply ignore all the overcomplicated and retarded additions like the weapon durability, or the dodge system, or the fact that enemies wield 2m weapons, making it very awkward for you to stay out of their range

but if you tell me japs made it, then I understand how it all happened and why the game ended up this way

I made the unfortunate mistake of buying new hardware again thinking my issues would be solved, I'd be problem free, and have all my tasks get done faster. This time it was purchasing a 3700x to replace my 2700x and the chipset USB 3.0 controller changing IOMMU groups thus causing me to lose the ability to directly pass through a USB 3.0 controller to my video game virtual machine. The only solution that I can think of that will work fine is purchasing a USB 3.0 hub to pass through so that all the Valve Index's devices are on that. Only thing I don't know is if that will affect latency of the device or cause issues. I don't think it will, but I don't really know haha.

I've done it before on a i7-4790k + gtx 970 (pre-vulnerabilities) and a 2700x + gtx 970 and now vega64 (soon 3700x once I buy a usb 3.0 hub and eventually a motherboard that isn't shit and will let me pass through other pcie devices in addition to probably also allowing the chipset usb 3.0 controller, stuff like having a separate network card rather than an emulated one will be pretty sweet) without any issues. Performance is pretty much the same in my experience as baremetal. One thing that will save you a lot of pain if you have a amd graphics card is using the Q35 machine type (it is default now to save people my pain), I beat my head against the wall trying to figure out why the card wouldn't come back online after rebooting only to figure out the other machine type just simply doesn't work properly in this regard. It's easy to set up in general just don't do a bunch of crazy stuff like I do. (and don't buy shitty 50 dollar bargin bin motherboards like I also do)

One of the major problems in that regard right now is very few people creating any content for the game and most people using copyrighted avatars, which is fairly DMCA unfriendly. It's still in early development and each new update brings forth new bugs. However, the number of bugs has been decreasing over time and the game is becoming exponentially more stable. I wouldn't say updates are slow either. It's literally two autists in their basements just like make game-ing and they push out updates and fixes several times a week. I think the longest we had gone without an update was one week when lots of backend stuff was being worked out.

The game runs very well over all, but it isn't quite complete yet. Early access in this case means EARLY access. Release is also another 2 weeks out and a few more major systems are anticipated to be released before then, such as the friends system for ease of joining instead of needing Direct IP. Server browser and "portal" system should be shortly after that, likely after EA releases.

As for June getting tunnel visioned on things, it does seem to happen sometimes, but typically not for terribly long, so larger problems to get addressed, just not always as quickly as we like. There's also No2 who is very quiet about what he does and he's the one working on a lot of the server systems and tends to push out larger, less frequent updates.

One good gameplay-related thing about VR is the precision of motion controls we have. Flatscreen vidya couldn't really take advantage of it because of limitations of mouse input. You could give player some barrels to throw with gravity gun in hl2, but you couldn't really convince him that manually swinging a sword using mouse is fun. VR players could entertain themselves for hours if you only provide them three bottles to juggle around. We can interact like never before, we can play around with very precise input that allows us to grab stuff and move it in natural manner, and any game that takes advantage of that is vastly superior by default.
