This. You can also disconnect the headset cable from the headset, and bounce the cord against the floor (need a fair amount of room), and it'll untwist itself a bit. So it looks like the thumbsticks could have more than 50 hours in them if the Index Controllers were a bit tighter inside. If Valve added another step in the manufacture, or changed the form a little to include some sort of wedge so there's absolutely no wiggle space around the thumbstick, it seems it would solve the issue.
Then again drift is often the final step of a very staircase of issues, and Valve hasn't made an official statement about it, so I think it's safe to assume Index Controllers will forever be trash because key component is half-dollar store quality.

Well I don't know the full story but there has always been problem with anons on /vrg/ vs discord tranny tards. The problem is that 4chan in general is about anonymous discussions but for some reason /vrg/ has become fully drama cancer because of the ''official'' discord that let all there anger and namefagging out on the /vrg/ thread.

The discord has become group mentality that doesn't accept newfags and backstabs each other with a bunch of drama. Onward was really fun to play, since getting VR, it had never really been hosted and I didn't get in on the hayday of Onwards prime, so it was fun to play it and experience the game. We mostly just screwed around in gungame and shot some b ball.

The quick rundown to expand the playercount is to find the official version in the menu, click the details (i) thing, copy the map (makes a personal clone). Then in the room settings for that map, under general settings -> subroom settings, you can increase the max players to 20. Then, find the game rules chip in the world (it's next to the scoreboard on the wall usually). Hit it with the maker gun in "configure" mode, scroll through the pages till you find "max players per team" and increase it to 10. Then do the same for the other subrooms of the world (the 6 CTF maps and the 2 lasertag maps).

I'll likely be around for the next rec room lobby anyway though, so I can get people in.

No, the index is still wired, no wireless option. It's still a really good headset. The controllers suck though. the finger tracking isn't reliable enough to add any presense, much less actually have gameplay implications like hand signs. (HTC) Vive is the only PC headset with a wireless module as far as I'm aware, Quest/GearVR are smartphone-based headsets, there's a way to use Quest as wireless PC VR but it introduces noticeable latency. I have visited many public worlds recently, all of which are filled with 90% steam visitor desktoppers, your occasional raid with obnoxious avatars, a very high chance of being crashed by some obnoxious nigger that joins the instance and immediately kills everyone with a billion particle effects, and basically, it's awful.

Public instances used to be somewhat decent, there were some interesting people that hung out in them, but they're just garbage now. I know it's not just me either, because I have talked to people that also visit pubs from other groups that I don't really even know, and those people also say the quality of people in public worlds has just been drastically dropping and dropping. So it's not even just /vrg/ people that I talk to saying this stuff (although they also say the same thing), it's just something that a lot of people have begun to notice.

The reason why this is, I think, is that the game has now been around long enough and gotten to the point where the interesting people are going off into their own friends+ and private worlds with the other interesting people they've met, and unfortunately all that's left now in publics are uninteresting steam visitor desktoppers, wolfboy particle effect spammers/crashers, and people that are actually still trying to get in on the Knuckles meme because they just saw the video for the first time now and think that that's still something people do 2 years later.
