Then as a joke he was sending me gifs from magic Mike and I jus thought it was funny didnt think much of it. And then he said he had to go cuz he was gonna go practice cuz its really hard to do and requires a lot of practice and talent. Ok? Coolio I thought. Go have fun!

Yes, I use it to make robot arms on my back follow my arm/hand/finger movement.
For the arms usecase, use rotation constraints. They have no performance hit either.
You can also disable the constrains to make the arms lock in place on an emote. Or enable them all on an emote to start em up.

Hi bros, I have an Optimus tech laptop and ever since December; I haven't been able to see my virtual desktops from within VR.

For any of you unaware of what Optimus is: A typical platform includes both a lower-performance integrated graphics processor by Intel and a high-performance one by Nvidia. Optimus saves battery life by automatically switching the power of the discrete graphics processing unit (GPU) off when it is not needed and switching it on when needed again. The technology mainly targets mobile PCs such as notebooks

Optimus doesn't have any client specific setting to tell it to use the dedicated GPU and not the integrated gpu (Yes, even if you have set it up as so in nvidia control panel) This kind of fuckery applies to VR and the virtual desktop, as the desktop is categorised as a low performance process, thus will be allocated to the intel intergrated gpu.

I looked at fixes a while back, like a couple of months ago, but nothing worked.

Anyone know of any fixes?

Dunno if you'll see this, but I recently got a Quest about a week ago and have been using almost non-stop. Prior to this I've had the Oculus DK2, HTC Vive and Valve Index.

The Link cable is bullshit, don't waste your time on it. If you want PC gaming on the Quest you absolutely must use it wirelessly, which is possible with Virtual Desktop or ALVR. It works just as good, and sometimes better than a wired connection (because you aren't restricted by a tether). The only thing you need to be aware about with wireless streaming is that its absolutely necessary to have a decent 5GHz router in the same room as your playspace.

Quest has a good amount of games that you can play standalone, all of which are easy to pirate with SideQuest if thats your thing.

I'm on the fence as to whether I can recommend the Quest over a dedicated PCVR headset for PCVR games, but I will say that I haven't touched my Index at all since getting it.

I fucking hate wired-tethered VR. It sucks. When wireless solutions for the Index come out it will be fantastic.

A random person hosts, people who don't know each other join, then probably never recognize each other again after. Frequently interacting as a group under usernames is something fundamentally incompatible with 4chan. Discord, inner circles, valentines day, shitposters, leaderfags, lewders, or whatever, are just the inevitable consequence of forgoing anonymity. I feel the same way but there are countless more factors that goes into the problem of /vrg/ and that has mainly been the evolution of the culture.

I see it as the culture itself has changed a lot here from 3 main factors. One being people create identities on this place and form relationships outside of 4chan anonymous culture but takes their newly formed relationship and banter into the thread creating discussions and drama not related to VR. This may have been delt with by making the discord however that back fired badly when anyone and their grandmother could join the discord without the background knowledge of 4chan culture. Moreover with a growing community of “normies” things are bound to go south and that is where we are now. Does vrc have a limit on how many sub emitters you can have on a particle system? I've got a cannon that has an explosion on impact, a set of rings that come out from the start, and a bunch of trailing particles that follow the shell all on sub emitters but only two of them work each upload. It seems to be random which ones but really I don't know.
The inspector menu for the particles went dark grey for some reason if that means anything too.
