Looking for people that knows how to overclock safely.
Would it be ideal to try an overclock on a new card from Nvidia?

Problem arises is that I do hear overclocking increases the risk of burn out specially when it overheats from wrong or high voltages or something. And climate here is hot. So no fail safe, if it gets too hot it's really hot. Safety in the card being under clocked is good I'd think. Specially for card longevity.

Anyone here an expert on this matter? Willing to listen on how to go about this.

His main bottleneck, which is also mine, is the fact we only have four cores, no hyperthreading. I am absolutely getting pegged 100% on my CPU in most games at all times which leads to a lot of ASW at 45fps (probably 40 on that guy's Rift-S due to different refresh rate). All of our VR hardware processing gets lumped into the same cores that the games are hammering while my GPU sits around 70-80% usage depending on the game.

All 1st-gen Ryzens had 8 threads to work with last I checked.

While a 1060 6GB is near min spec for most VR games now, you should be fine in SkyrimVR with it. I have a 970 which is slightly worse than a 1060 and Skyrim VR is smooth when modded with the FPS enhancing mods from the Reddit modding guides. I meant it in terms of truly making your own avatar from scratch. I agree though that if you have no experience, start with downloading any old model on vrcmods, go through the motions of uploading stuff in unity, make basic texture edits, drag in some props. There's a lot of procedural knowledge you need for vrchat besides 3d modeling skills if you want to make something fully from scratch, and it's a lot less discouraging to make incremental progress along the way.

Firstly thread isn't an indicator of /vrg/, instead watch a long/unedited recording of an event or meetup. It's a bunch of autistic men (who look like anime girls) talking about the kind of things all autistic men like to talk about,especially the kind of stuff you'd talk about on this fingerpainting forum. The "popularity contest" problem is a result of NA hours containing literally more than 100 active players, well past the limits of a normal friend circle unless /vrg/ is your entire social life. Sure even on the weekend it might only be 50 people online at once, but that's still too many to be practical and it means a newcomer has to fight for attention to get remembered or even noticed. It's also why vrg as a whole has splintered into subgroups/clouds, but if you're a newfriend from the thread you're not gonna know what they are.

The solution to this has come from inside /vrg/, but nobody has proposed one. Blame the leaderfags, but they also have no incentive to do anything about it, since all the people having problems are outside and not reaching them.

There's room for you in the smaller clouds, but without first learning where/when you are and what are your interests and goals in vrchat we can't even direct you to the right subgroup. Someone at a main meetup could do it but that still puts the onus on you to penetrate the big group and find someone who wants to lead you to a smaller one with people who still have free friendspace in their brains.

Best thing you can do right now is make a post describing yourself or at least describing what you want out of vrchat. There's a good chance someone interested will namedrop and/of friend you and you can go from there.

There should be a prefab that came with the model. If you drag and drop it into the scene it should be ready to UL, hopefully with all animations already applied.
Otherwise if you're on avatars 2.0 you need to drag and drop the animations into a new avatar controller then apply that to the model via the avatar descriptor. On 3.0 it's a lot more complicated.
