No, dynamic bones are easily copied, and should be part of a prefab.

If you're like me where the avatar is in a prefab and the avatar descriptor is added in a scene, then it's just a matter of copying all of the files over to the new project except for the scene.

Then in your new project you make a new scene, place the prefab, and add the 3.0 descriptor.

Components/scripts are the first one (limit 8), the total number of bones that script effects is the transforms (32), I think? I.e. if you have a dynamic bone with ponytail-base as the root, then have 4 bones off that -base, that would be 1 script but 5 transforms. I.e., to get under the limiter you'd want 8 or less bones with 32 or less simulated bones.
I'm a total unity-let, so that's just my understanding, anyone with a better understanding feel free to correct.

The matcaps are just for viewing in Blender, you need the matcap as an image file and a shader that supports matcaps to use them in Unity.
Technically since matcaps are just images you can use the snipping tool to steal the ones from the selection you have there.

It is a shame that unity's cloth component only works on actual mesh vertices. You can kind of hack around it by using a geometry/tesselation shader to generate a more complex mesh on top of the raw simulated vertices, but I don't have the shader skills yet to make anything fancy like frills.

There was some discussion last week about how to stream music into vrchat. I found that while plain icecast mp3 streams don't work, you can live-transcode an icecast stream into RTMP with ffmpeg pretty easily, which pipes into nginx-rtmp (or other streaming services like twitch/youtube with rtmp input), which you can then play in vrchat's stream player as an HLS stream. Example with r/a/dio:

With some effort, you could read the spectrogram output in shaders and have synchronized visual effects in the world, light shows and such.

In blender 2.8x select those vertices with like a block select or something (b) in see through mode (wireframe usually is) then f3 and search for merge by distance. basically there is a seam because the vertices aren't connected. the 2.79 version is merge doubles. you can change the merge distnace on the dialogue that come on the upper left. if there's a seem just because two connected meshes were split up then the default should be good. if you're frankensteining stuff together you might have to bump it up a little
make sure to back up and save to a new blender file after doing something like this in case you fuck it up

reason it might be showing up in unity is because they're separate meshes, and thus getting lit up differently since they have different bounding boxes. if they're separate meshes you might want to merge them together into one in blender. if you don't want to merge them together, then under the skinned mesh renderer options in unity you might want to set one of them or a bone or your armature as the target anchor, that will decide where they receive lighting from. so if they have the same target anchor they should get lit up identically

The best I can think of is one time I "split" the head to make some changes to the body then re-joined it, so it's all just one "body" mesh. I'll try that merge by distance though. What baffles me is in blender I also don't notice any problems, everything looks fine but only when I'm in-game does it show the seams. If it was a different lighting issue I'm not sure why it would happen since it's all one "Body" mesh. The head isn't it's own separate mesh

Make sure you've got all the vertices selected at where the seem was. You could try deleting a 0 to make it look for a wider area of vertices to merge.
You could try switching between material mode and solid mode view (hold z) to see if the seem is easier to see in blender.

Well it's functional. Turns out only the player IK and bullets are synced. Your player's body has physics you can interact with the world in each other's games but you have no way of knowing where things are actually moving when you push them. You can't grab and pick up objects on their screen but running into a door will open it because your body colliders will push it.
Tricky to get used to and there was a lot of "does this work for you?" being asked when we tried things but it's definitely worth giving a try if you have the game already.

It's close to the that time of year again. School is in session. Instead of just the typical group photo where everyone goes AHHHH and breaks the game we're gonna try something different. We're gonna have people actually teaching and a school talent show. Now for the teaching it's gonna be more like you present a topic that you like. You could talk about how you like cute and funny things or why people should read the halo novels, starshitizen, any topic you're autistic about is good. It should be around 5 or 10 minutes long but it can be shorter if you'd like. Think of them as shorter versions of the presentations from 2018. As for the talent show it will be in somewhat the same style as last time with people coming up on stage and showing off a talent ie instrument, an avatar you made, dancing, jokes, a skit and things along those lines. There is going to be prizes for the two categories: the best lesson and the best talent. The prizes will be $25 steam gift codes. As for how they will be judged we are still deciding. It may be a raise of hands, how loud people cheer or a rotating panel of judges. There may be other school events going so think of this a part of the school festival. School outfits are preferred but not required for the events. Oh and at the end there will be a group photo. In our testing you can progress through the story mode normally by walking through the gates and you'll all still be in the same lobby when you load in to the next level. No need to rejoin or rehost or anything. If someone joins and you've loaded the same level, they'll be in your game. Because of all the desync it's easier to think of it as you're both playing single player but all of your buddies' movements are transmitted into your game through a newly spawned npc that the enemies don't attack but can still knock things over. Like some parallel world bullshit or something. You can hit buttons and flick levers for each other and pull each other up onto ledges though you can only damage each other by shooting.

Yeah, this is not even close to acceptable. The only thing you can easily fix in unity is deleting the lights and changing the order of the bones. You also seem to be in a broken IK pose instead of a T-pose, which is why the view doesn't work.

Start again with something that is going to be suitable for VRchat without extensive modification. You could get this in game, but not with your skill level.

You can see the skeleton on the Hierachy, anon. Which, if you hadn't tinkered it, would be on the left side. Just keep going through the Armature>Hips>Spine>Chest and then look through the arms for what isn't properly placed. To solve the polygons, you can decimate it in blender and force it into a T-Pose. Ok, Oculus users, I need some info. I have recently started dealing with some pretty severe vision loss. I still have enough vision to play some vidya, even VR stuff (currently have an original Vive), my issues are more related to being able to see small detail. I'm actually in a program for visually disabled people that helps them function better. One of the other students mentioned this app called relumino by Samsung that's available on the Oculus store. The other student currently uses it on her Samsung Gear to assist her with her own vision issues. She is saving up for an Oculus Quest to use it on there. Does anyone have experience with this app on the Quest? I had zero interest in upgrading my current VR setup until I found out about this app.

I'm glad the revolver is back in the pistol round round. It's created a bit of rock paper scissors situation which I think is refreshing, even if it still probably needs a bit of fine tuning.

M249 is fine, it's still just as powerful as before but few people use it effectively. It's hurt by the slower movement speed in a game where the netcode favors fast peeks but if you abuse the broken crouching hitboxes and M249 recoil reduction you can make up for it.
Uzi is irredeemable garbage when solo but has to be balanced around akimbo. Sawn-offs do a more reliable job at close range, anything beyond that may as well be useless for both weapons but at least with Uzis you can swap to one for range if you really have no other choice.

First, the recoil for the machine gun is considerably worse than the m4. When standing it's recoil is worse than any rifle and there is no foregrip option to alleviate this. Crouching is unreliable and is best used when staying stationary and defending a particular approach, but there are better guns for this purpose, any sniper rifle does a better job.

Secondly, I do not think /vrg/ actually understands how bad the movement penalty is. (same with the .50 cal but that gun actually still has its niche after consecutive nerfs) Pavlov heavily rewards ambush tactics, flanking and quick peaks. Not being able to strafe while shooting is atrociously bad and makes shooting you in the head really easy, You also cannot slow peak safely at all with this weapon because it's so slow, and on top of this crouching mid spray and staying accurate is actually pretty difficult and usually not even worth the effort of doing so.

Thirdly, the limited ammo update butchered this gun. You only spawn with 75 extra rounds, not even a full additional magazine. If you live with it till next round you will go to 150 extra rounds which is still the worst ammo ratio for any gun in the game. (only 1.5 extra mags compared to most rifles 4 extra mags, even the fucking revolver gets 2-3 extra mags) The MG can't even fulfill it's one niche properly. (spamming)

Sweatys don't use the MG for a reason, because it's total trash, not because "literally everyone somehow can't use it properly".

Even if the multi is irrelevant I'm glad we're getting more linear games with a focus on shooting mechanics. Started using my Rift S again after using CV1 and boy did it take steps back in a number of areas.
