I need help with vive controllers. When using the trackpad to move or rotate it puts me into a hand gesture afterwards. I'm not swiping it, simply clicking. It doesn't matter what steamVR bindings I use (default/community/custom). I've already asked around a bit and some people have never had this problem while some only had it a few times randomly and it went away.

Feels like the latest update broke a lot of things. Having a harder time picking things up from the ground and most of the time it feels like the ghosts do nothing until the sanity drops to 0%.

The big maps are also kind of lame since nothing ever happens and it takes so long to walk back and forth between the fusebox and looking for the ghost. Hopefully the dev ups the activity on the larger maps or adds multiple ghosts.

I have the same problem and it infuriates me more than anything else in this game. My solution was to turn off gestures in the circle menu if I was going to be walking around a lot and turn them back on for conversation. It's a shit bandaid fix and is far less than ideal but the devs are complete retards and refuse to fix it. I told tupper about it and he said not to use vive controllers which has, despite all odds, made me hate vrc and their devs even more which I also told him. Also posted about it on the canny but it got drowned out by the million other complaints about this shit game.

There's also a couple of groups that do regular games like mahjong and dnd but I don't know when or how to get in on it.
Your best bet is to come in and see for yourself. It's american saturday night so there'll be lots of people on. It'll be a good chance for you to meet a range of people.

Been to a handful irl. Mostly metal concerts though so the appeal there is the physical: feeling the sound, heat, smell, getting thrown around in a crowd, and throwing other people around. VR is a good stand in with corona though those things you just can't get from VR at all. The music, company and visuals are still good. Plus you can still dance, just not slam into other people.

How do people deal with busy instances so well? I always feel out of place and try-hard in them. Like there's a bunch of small groups and if you join one then the attention shifts to you, or you join the space but then you're just awkwardly there. Real EU hours tend to be one big group and the dynamics just aren't the same - you join the instance and you're just part of the instance as a whole, and you don't have to join/ leave small conversation groups.

I aint got shit to talk about so the idea of pure conversation and leaving/ joining them is rough as fuck so I tend to be on the periphery for most of it stumbling into the odd conversation and then slipping away.

I'm very introverted so the loud gatherings drain me but they are less stressful that a group of 5 if the conversation is one I can't contribute to and there is no activity like a game we're all playing. So my experience with VRChat so far has been mostly pic related. Most models don't load at all, even when the load bars hit 100. My security settings are set to standard, so it isn't that. What am I doing wrong?

Find the settings on the safety settings optimization. Limit the filesize of avatars to load to like 30MB or something reasonable. So your computer does not waste time downloading unoptimized shit avatars

That's literally the point of grenades; to kill people behind cover. If you see someone peek, you should expect them to throw a grenade so you should relocate before they do so. The spam at the start of rounds is completely negated by waiting a few seconds or going the other way. I was not killed by a single 'random' grenade today so it's clearly not unavoidable.
