From my experience most bigger events definitely needs coordination using another site/system. But this magazine event can be a nice test bed for that.

First stage is gathering the willing camera men.
The photoshoppers have already been talked with in the thread and said they'll monitor the thread closely. So we have all day today to finalize how the camera men will go through the different timezones to request people of specific kino poses on specific worlds.

Also trying out the video taking drone control mode. Insane how much more life like the videos are with the blur. The full quality of this webm is even better than what is here in this compressed version.

Makes me think that when Half-Dome Oculus tech gets made, we will feel that insane amount of immersion all over again. The blur tiering depending on depth, distance and view location is amazing.

Every game I try to run on my Quest 2 runs like dogshit. My computer is no beast but it's not a slouch either. Card is old but not bad? CPU is new. I don't know what these fucking shenanigans are but like, the Superhot demo on the headset, runs perfectly. But trying to play Superhot through SteamVR on my PC, link cable or stream, the game runs complete ass.

How the fuck do games run WORSE when my PC's power is combined with the Quest's? That makes no god damn sense. Lotta these games don't even look that fucking demanding.

Go to steamVR video settings.
It is well known that steamVR doubles the pixel placed on the video. If it says 100% it's actually 2x the actual pixel capacity of your headset.

Make sure you research what the actual pixel of your headset is and place it in there. Fuck valve. Almost looks like anti-competitive practice.

I'm having a different issue, my computer is pretty fucking solid (3700x and 3080) and for some reason my hand tracking in SteamVR/PC link is shit and decays after like 20 minutes to unplayable, it constantly gets stuck but then I can go into the normal Oculus shit and it runs fine there.

Yes the resolution per eye. Research properly what you need on your Quest 2. Since you can't trust Valve to properly place the resolution for their competitor headset.

After that if you are gonna play any game through steam you have to press and hold SHIFT to pop out that special unity menu. Place the quality from VR high into desktop low.
This won't affect the graphics in your game. It's the projected window on your desktop only that it will affect.

This is why oculus games run best on oculus client.
The tracking space of steam VR is actually different than oculus' and it transfers the data in a different way that much can't be helped. hand getting lost is something I have not experienced with my quest 1 thank fully. But who knows.

For better or for worse, if the game requires really good tracking, buying it from the oculus store is the good choice.
