The shillening has concluded. It's actually okay overall The basic features like voice and IK work, you can upload avatars using the tried and tested unity method, performance is quite good on most maps even with a bunch of shit like multiplayer dynamic bones enabled, which is the super low hanging fruit of any clone to wave around to say "hey we're better than vrchat". Yep, it does work pretty well. Even adds in the colliders to your hands so you don't have to. Self-collision doesn't work for some reason.

On the other hand, the menus and social interaction are really clunky still. There are no portals to drop, which makes world hopping really annoying. For some reason there's a cap of 2 concurrent worlds you are master of, i.e. if you make one instance, then make another instance and people are still hanging around the previous instance (that's "yours" still), it won't let you create another instance. Plus, we had a problem where after just a few minutes in certain worlds, people's IK and voice started freezing or they got crashed. There were only ~8 of us in the world, and like 20 people in the entire game, so not a good sign.

There aren't any actual cool worlds to explore anyway, it's all "comfy chill hangout club" ports from vrchat. Their scripting/game system is (so far) vaporware, no game worlds. there aren't even avatar worlds, (except a few placeholders with non-working pedestals).

I'd say if officially supported dynamic bone touching is your killer feature, shillout is worth trying out today. Otherwise, it's still too clunky and empty (both worlds and people). Wait 6 months and see if it's still alive.

No, vanilla skyrim does not translate well into VR. Need to have the technical know-how, patience to mod Skyrim. Once you get vrik and magevr it's absolutely worth it. However that's just vanilla, you need to go on the skyrim vr subreddit to mid the game. Read it. Then read comments to make sure it's not outdated and is compatible. EUs have been able to join the NA server in the past without latency causing any issues I was able to notice, and it's always up, so you're more than welcome to use that if you want.
