I'm starting to feel like getting into VR was a big mistake. excluding the cost of steam games: $1000 plus tax for an index, ~$2000 for a modern gaming rig, and for what?

How is it shitposting? I'll be as objective and unbiased as I possibly can. The "EU Discord" people keep referring to exists, but it's not what they think it is. There isn't some giant discord that's exclusive to the EU timezone people, it would get out of hand too quickly.
Aside from that one, there are also multiple inner-circle discords that are used for different purposes, with some people being in almost all of them. No, it isn't true that you get in by just "playing VR games other than VRChat", quite obviously you'd need to be decent friends with someone inside and even then you'd most likely only find out about it if you happen to stumble upon that topic or you were talking with one of those people that did most of the inviting into it and they saw you as a good fit. Some of them are even used only for VRChat related things.
These aren't exclusive to EU but I'm mentioning them because they're most often made by and mostly populated by EUs.

There's a few vrc maps based around exploring a dungeon with combat that are apparently quite good. They're coop by design because it's in vrc.
There's also Swords of Gargantua which is a dungeon crawler with coop. I can't think of many other games with melee combat AND coop.

What's the appropriate attitude to have in regards to the hundreds of splinter discords that exist? I'm not in any besides the well known ones and whenever I hear about someone who owns one, someone that I care more about and feel I have a connection with, it kinda brings me back down to reality. I have a nice enough time with people in /vrg/ but it's pretty fucking pathetic that everyone belongs to multiple splinter discords while I'm just kinda here. It's like being an NPC. i used to play it on flat but haven't tried it in vr, here's what i can say about it, it's pretty fun if you have full team and you all play to win without being too serious about it, the co-op aspect of it, saving downed allies and overall surviving waves as you do objectives is pretty fun some enemies are very annoying but they bring challenge to the game that isn't artificial, i can only imagine the immersion in vr but even with flat game it kind of pulls you into the mood and you may have heated tactical stuff going on in mic as you're trying to coordinate your defences etc, all in all it was fun but i have played my fps days ages ago with cs:go so i burnt out on the genre

Yeah it's a weird map. Started out as a 'I can do Just H Party but better' and became a much bigger thing. I think it can maybe be a bit like Void Club used to be in terms of a hookup place (upstairs) but it's a essentially a hangout map with a lewd tone and a nice private rooms system. It got meme'd and poopoo'd by /v/ because there were too many poc and women in the story mode.
But it's a fun game and the multiplayer scene is holding up.
They've made some nice updates to the game in the short amount of time it's been released too adding new ships, private lobbies and made improvements to the VR experience.
The only bad thing about the vr is like every other AAA cockpit/racing/flightsim/spacesim game out there it doesn't support motion controls and you need a hotas or a controller.
Definitely worth a buy when it's on sale.

I don't know any good ones but the process is basically the same as for hair you want to separate the clothes from the existing mesh and just parent them to the armature of the model you want to add them to. not them, but udon has a variable for whether the user is in VR and you easily can gate off of that. For quest, the map is essentially a separate upload from the PC, so you could just delete the triggers on the quest version or delete the rooms entirely.
