The damage on the Skyjacker is so bad. It took 3 hits to the same spot just to knock the tiny armor plates off a single hopper leg, it would take at least twice that to break a limb from scratch. Yes, different grinders are supposed to use different weapons. The dredge isn't designed to run triple lasers or whatever you are trying to do. Try miniguns and cannons instead. Take a catalyst if you want to use a laser and try to stay at distance.

Reassess how you're measuring what works and what doesn't then. If I end a game with 2500 damage but only 1 kill, it's not necessarily a worse result than 2500 damage and 7 kills. My teammates could have sucked up all the kills with no more damage than is usual for them, there's a lot of luck and circumstance involved.
The actual damage number, limbs destroyed and my own number of deaths is a better gauge for my performance. Did I die 10 times when I usually only die 5? Then I know I should think about how I died and whether that situation could have been avoided. Was my playstyle in a particular grinder getting me into inescapable fights? Did I die because I thought I could win this 1v1? Did my teammates die in front of me before I could fire a shot? What could I have done instead?

If you want to improve in any game you need to have some measure of your performance and the willingness to ask yourself these kind of questions. You should also ask whether or not it was still fun. I may have only got 1 kill but it was fun to dance around the enemy and draw their fire for my teammates to take advantage of. I may have died 60 seconds into the round but it was worth it to ram that hoppertranny back to the stone age. These are things you need to figure out yourself first.

Doing a lot of damage with no kills is bad when there's three or more teams. Question about the Quest 2; shouldn't USB 3.2/thunderbolt deliver enough power to keep the quest charged completely while in use?

I noticed that after about an hour-1.5hr of play, i was down to 70%
I wouldn't be playing enough to really drain it, but I thought that with it being able to deliver the power it does (at least able to charge a phone via 18w fast charging), it'd be able to keep the headset fully powered as you play.

Got my index controllers today and they are good. It feels so much better than my vive wands which were abysmal, grabbing stuff feels more natural and it is hard to accidentally press the system button, the front trigger is fucking amazing in comparison but the thumbsticks are meh they don't feel as good as the touchpad and other buttons.
The knuckle foam is fucking amazing I wish I had that in my 8kx.
For games the finger tracking is adequate and better suited than leap motion since the tracking is far more robust and you have haptic feedback which is important, but I find it is not as good as leapmotion for making gestures.
Leapmotion was not perfect but it was more natural, I messed around with it on my vive in the past in altspaceVR and big screen.
I could use leap motion with my vive wands simultaneously despite the FoV and occlusion limitations you could clap and do all manner of gestures it came off more accurate and natural.
With the index controller when I open my hand and my fingers are far from the sensor there is a region where it is woefully inaccurate and just snaps into an open hand.

It didn't affect gameplay for me so far though the issue is mostly just aesthetic, bolt action was fun as hell in H3VR but it really needs a stock, gotta figure out how to make a simple rifle stock for it that you just grab when needed and throw aside when not required without the need for fixtures/magnets like the commercial peripherals I've seen.
I am thinking of just using a threaded rod and some 3D printed thin/hollow curved paddles that don't affect the finger/grasp tracking.
Only practical solution seems to be curved grips that follow the contour of the controller with the rod at the bottom.
