Okay, wizards. I'm a cheap bastard and decide to use iVry to emulate vr and stream it to my phone for use with a cheap headset. It actually works and its neat. Only issue I'm having is that I'm having problems with the controller. It's some cheap bluetooth controller that looks viable enough for vr gaming, but it never does anything in the vr mode. You're supposed to pair it with your phone for it to work, and I did, but when I push the b or back button, it just cuts the vr stream and goes to my phones homescreen, which tells me the controller is controlling the phone, not the game.

Also having some trouble getting the computer to accept inputs from my xbox controller. I'm stuck sitting at the steamvr room, and no matter how much I press the y button on either controller, nothing works.

I did some searching. I suspect this controller was never designed to connect to a pc in the first place. Cant find even a scrap of info on a driver. If anyone is interested, my headset is a destek v5, and the controller seems to be manufactured and sold by them as well.

So I have a model in unity that opens in a "scene" however when I open that scene that has the model already set up, it just replaces all the crap I already had in my own scene. Basically I wanted to add the model then import over some things I have on my already existing model.

we used to meet up in publics in the old days.
that changed when vrchat made it so empty instances get eleted and do not appear on the list anymore. It was easy enough to find an empty instance at the end of the list and thread drop that. But then vrc changed it. Only populated ones show up. And Friends+ is a thing. so since by that point most vrgers had come to friend each other, meetups simply moved to friends+ and remain there. You just ask for a namedrop or namedrop yourself, etc and get in that way.

Sometimes an instance link is posted, but that's rarer since obviously that only works if people are in the instance

So for those of you using these, how do you normally hold them while just being idle/ just standing around in vrc? If I grab the center grip (which instinctively I do since I'm used to vive wands) my avatar is doing awkward fist gestures while idle, even if I remove any facial gestures or lock them with gesture disable the hand motion is still in a fist because I'm grabbing the controller, which looks dumb. On the other hand I've tried forcing myself to just let go of the grip entirely and just let it "hang" onto my hand via the soft strap thing that it has wrapped over my knuckles, but then my avatar has a weird "flat" hand with all fingers extended because nothing is touching the controller sensors. Shit idk, I'm just trying to get the hang of using this over a vive wand (mine broke a few weeks ago).

It seems the "Sweet spot" is hovering the fingers near the sensors, but not quite touching them, but fuck doing that the entire time I'm idle, that's very uncomfortable

Cheap bastard anon here. Did some searching, decided that playstation vr is a good balance of quality and price. Using ivry (again) to connect it to pc. Gonna get 2 playstation move controllers. Now the big questions.

All the guides are saying to use playstation cameras to set up the whole thing in my room, but my friend has a 360 kinect and from what I can tell, it can be used with a software called driver4vr to allow full body tracking.

I'm not looking for finger tracking, that's not necessary, but what would I need to make this work? Would a kinect be sufficient for 6dof? I know I need an adapter for the kinect to connect it to my pc, and possibly a ping pong ball with an LED in it attached to the headset for head tracking, but can anybody who has used psvr and a kinect for their pc vr gaming tell me if a kinect is sufficient?

The quest is essentially a current generation mid-range PC headset that just happens to come with a top end mobile processor and battery inside for running standalone games if you're a poorfag without a PC (apparently most gamers these days). It's got all the features you expect and a few you probably don't, the few features it is missing are limitations of the tracking technology the designers chose and "no 6dof" isn't one of them.

It's a great headset for the cost almost all the problems are Facebook related.

Heres a basic explanation, if your texture has the box in blue checked, the box in red also needs to be checked, and the box in blue is always checked by default. Auto fix always just checks the red highlighted box, but unchecking the box in blue works also. The modellers assume that you install Dynamic Bones, but it works without as well. I think they usually don't double check what happens if you actually don't use them, hence why they didn't consider that it'll throw you some error because of the missing script, unless you remove them.

How tf are you supposed to treat mutes? I have no idea why but I attract them and they always start following me or making weird gestures at me. Mutes aren't deaf. You can talk to them but their methods of communicating are largely going to be signing. Knowing you can't understand it means they will either use a pen or gesture in ways that make sense to you, meaning there's no real problem.
