In the heat of summer, clashing and clipping meshes, (((sports))) and the fire particles of youth all burst forth. Now with a VR flavour, we are proud to present the very first VR SPORTS FESTIVAL.
With your help, /vrg/ will be the first in the metaverse to experience the flames of youth as we test our playspace against each other's play spaces and who can manually physically do a lot of these traditional sporting goodness in a virtual space.

Sure thing! Lemme list them separately per post.
So the main idea here are that we will be competing as if we are physically there as much as we can in our virtual set-up.

1) BATON PASS - will be 6 anons around an oval track and using the redirected walking system where you will need to manually walk in your real life playspace.
(People will be walking slowly manually)
Your team will have a baton you will pass over the course of the whole track.
Throwing of the baton is forbidden and we will have a referee to make sure.
The first team to have their baton pass the finish line wins.
But we continue to track the ranking as well for points depending on placement.

2) THREE-LEGGED RACE - will be groups of 2's tied together in a special UDON system which binds them together. You will have to walk lockstep with both your feet near each other else it won't let you move.
This would be a short track that will test your ping and coordination with your other team members.
Similar to baton-pass it will be redirected walking BUT will be a short track and your feet will be on a leash.

3) Free-throw - 4 anons in a group will do free throws from a specified line away from the basket. You have 8 balls to work with. Do your best to get the most point. This one is self explanatory and we have a gym already ready for this.
Stand on the free throw line and throw the ball using your real life strength.

4) Scavenger hunt - There will be wishes of anons scattered across the school map
The anon who gathers gets the most wishes and therefore points wins this one for their team.
After 15 minutes, you will gain the points you have gathered for your team.

Similar to the other ones, on each event, you all can participate but only the highest point gets tallied to your team's total to make it fair for both big and small teams.

5) Swimming - would be quite interesting. We'll ask the anons to lay on their belly or back. Let go of their hand controllers at the starting line of the pool.
And using the UDON system, waggle your feet manually in the real world to propel yourself through the pool.

Ranking and placement is self explanatory. We will have a referee to vet who actually touch down first.
As you may have noticed this swimming mandates that you use FBT.

But should be ok since 90% of /vrg/ have FBT anyways

World constraint question - is it possible to have the worldspace object thingy follow around some part of the armature so you can be more precise with the placement of an object in the world?
For example I'd want the object I want world constrained to spawn where my hand is but be locked in that position after it is spawned.
Along with that, does an object with a parent constraint still follow transform changes if it's disabled? If yes then maybe I can toggle the parent constraint off whenever I spawn it in so it doesn't move

Plays quite a bit different to beatsaber but I like it.
It's like everything is a down note except you're just tapping them instead of swinging through. Patterns are a bit different as well which will take some getting used to, particularly on the drum roll bits.
Needs custom songs for multiplayer and I think it could have some staying power.

Im above 6ft tall and grew up feeling fairly average, family has people way taller, school was in the country so plenty of dudes way bigger than me. When i got into the real world I realized how tall i was on average, which is normally a positive thing, however i have always had conflict with this. Im more often than not a follower and a supportee not saying anything about being dominent is bad but i just am not, yet socially im always expected to be dominant no matter what because im tall.

the main hurdle is getting the tri count down. The limit is now 20k but as someone who uses his Quest here and there you should really aim for 10k - 20k tri avatars are super super laggy in instances with 5+ people, or on your own with a single mirror.

you also need to use quest compatible shaders

After getting things toned down in Blender you just make a Quest compatible project (target platform Android), import the Quest SDK, import your project files, set the shaders provided by the SDK and upload it. You can upload using the same blueprint ID as your PC avatars to have them gracefully fall back to Quest version for when Questies see them but your armature apparently has to be the same as on the PC avatar. It's was surprisingly painless effort when I last uploaded some.
