Not for a long time. There isn't a cookie cutter approach to implementing VR interactions yet and AAA devs do not take risks any more. It would cost too much development time for the small fraction of the playerbase that would use it and introduce additional work in balancing and bug fixing. Sprint Jump VR since for some reason you can't sprint jump in vanilla and I like to autistically jump around.
I liked Simple Realistic Archer VR over the other archery mods, it works with any arrow/bow mod and requires you to grab the arrow from over your shoulder instead of just spawning it on the bow. Locational damage mod too for satisfying headshots.
Followers can Relax, Campfire and Audiobooks of Skyrim for a comfy rest mid-dungeon. Combine with new content mods like Forgotten Dungeons and your companions of choice, Interesting NPCs has some detailed vanilla friendly ones.
I tried a few different mods but Realistic Mining and Chopping for VR seemed to work the best for me when it comes to mining.

So I took people's advice and used that performance tracker thing that XSOverlay has and it seems my VRAM is the main issue that is causing me to lag in full rooms. That shit was capped out (or close to it) almost the entire time.

VRAM was the only thing bottlenecking. And yeah I have benchmarked before I primarily don't even use this PC for VR, I run it at 2k 90+FPS on ultra settings on pretty much everything without issue.

Cockpit games are best played with HOTAS anyways. Given that HOTAS seems to work perfectly with the VR mod I think that it'd work pretty well.

Got a Quest 2 and it's honestly kind of boring. I got used to it within 5 days and didn't have any trouble adjusting to it. I knew it was a mobile headset, but I still thought the novelty of VR would overpower that and it would be really cool.

But I didn't feel that. Everything looks so bad and the Oculus store games are not that fun. I also feel a bit dead inside knowing I allowed myself to get zucked and mostly wanted to disconnect from shit like Facebook and Google. I wanted to buy the G2 but I don't have a PC yet and probably won't be getting one anytime soon unless a really good prebuilt comes along that doesn't sell out in 2 minutes. And although the Q2 has the freedom of being portable it's hard to actually appreciate when it's so fucking uncomfortable. I bought the halo strap and a counterweight and still all I can concentrate on is how it digs into my face. I wouldn't even be able to use VD because my router is old and would cost ~$100 to upgrade, which I don't want to do so I'd be using the cable.

Should I just return it? I already spent $80 on accessories thinking it would be this special experience and I don't know how much I can actually return.

I think that Vox works well enough, but VTOL VR makes steering really hard without a proper stick. It's even more apparent in Jetborne which uses the same control scheme. Having a real stick with real limits really does work better than waving around your hand in middair. I think that the best control scheme are inbetweens like the high fidelity planes in DCS World where you can use your VR controllers to interact with the cockpit while still using HOTAS, especially if you are using hand tracking as on the Quest or with leap motion.

Even with the best build possible there are limits to the VRC itself. If you are in a packed instance even with every avatar hidden there is no hardware no or in the future that will get you close to 90 FPS.

I've been testing this out for the last few days with full body tracking. It's a huge immersion improvement once you get it set up right. It can use the hip tracker for direction and the speed and height of your steps for speed. This will also extend the life of your index thumb sticks.

I've bought a quest 2 last week, been playing Echo VR (which is a blast) but holy shit the amount of annoying american and british kids/teens is crazy.
They constantly babble and narrate their actions like if they're some twitch streamers.

New FBT solutions are becoming available. There was a kickstarter for Tundras, essentially better Vive trackers, that should be delivering by the end of the year. There was also another method called SlimeVR that needs to lighthouses.
There's been literally nothing on Decagear since the announcement, other than their Decamove shit being released which is basically useless. No other headset news really

In terms of games there was Sniper Elite VR which was fun enough for a $20 game, and a bunch of indie titles. Demeo was dissapointingly short but seemed polished. Can't think of much else.

if you want pcvr you add the link cable
if you want less head pain you add a better strap
you will be happy with a decent headset that was very cheap

if you don't have money problems and want good pcvr you buy index
you will be happy with the best headset and overall best experience vr has right now

if you want wireless pcvr and for some reason the quest2 wireless pcvr which works just fine isn't good enough for you, you buy vive pro (1) with the wireless attachment and some cooling attachments because that thing overheats, also a mic attachment because vive mic is shit, also probably a whole headphone attachment honestly because audio sucks too
this is going to be expensive as fuck and won't feel worth it 90% of the time unless you're hardcore into vr dancing and even then it's questionable if it's worth it
