So Ancient Dungeon VR came out and gotta say, it's pretty good, honestly reminds me a lot of Zelda 1 in it's style and gameplay.
Combat isn't anything indepth, it's not waggle but it's not B&S/TWD levels where it really has weight or anything, bit more arcadey in that regard.
You still need to dodge and crouch a lot, even for exploring the Dungeons to avoid traps.
No stamina system besides your own which can fuck you up if you get tired on a boss..
Currently two difficulties.
Normal and Hard, Hard requires to be unlocked so I've been playing on Normal, and it's challenging, I keep dying.
Especially since the game doesn't teach you much, there are a lot of environmental threats, some are obvious, some you won't even release until a few deaths in.
Atmosphere is great, it's comfy but also intense...Not sure how'd I'd explain it to be honest.
The music tho is really good, more atmospheric but the areas that do contain big music, like Boss fights, are fucking great, and fits the mood and atmosphere so well.
You can save in it but only if you want to take a break, if you die, you can't reload a save and go back to it.
Which is great since, while there are only 5 levels (dungeons), they have 1 big layout and it can take (me at least) between 5-10 minutes exploring it, I'm just estimating, it might be longer desu.
I personally don't save but the fact it's there is a nice touch.
And I know, 5 dungeons?
From the Trello (which he plans to redo), it looks like he plans to add more, currently looking like 4.
And the best part is, he supports modding.
There are already 2 mods I'm keeping an eye on.
Hardcore Difficulty and Magic.
Would and do recommend if you got some spare cash, it's only 20 bucks too.
