You need to add a component to your animation inside the animator. This component specifically. It may already be there if you're using the example hands layer from the vrchat sdk examples.

tracking eyes = the fake eye tracking and the blinking vrchat does
tracking mouth = lipsync

In this pic, the animation for open-hand disables/overrides the tracking for the eyes.


so if you have an animation you want the avatar to stop talking during like a tongue-out expression that might look weird mixed with visemes then turn off mouth tracking. If you have an animation you want the eyes to not blink during, like a sleep expression with the eyes closed, then turn off eye tracking etc

note the default state is "no change" which if put on other animations won't turn the tracking back on after the first animation disables it, so you probably want to change those too once you start messing with tracking.

Going into blender and remapping a shapekey isn't that hard. Overclocking a shapekey does require going to blender though. What you do is you change the max value of the shapekey, shift it to the new max you want, then make a new shapekey out of that. Then use that in unity.

We're essentially the most social MMO guild on the entire board.

But we use this thread to plan events, meetups, activities, game lobbies and other social gatherings in virtual reality.
This general shouldn't be about interpersonal drama and gossip between individuals but this general is going to have arguments and discussion about the social groups contained within this social community.
Because this game is VRchat and the main "gameplay" of the game is social interaction in a virtual environment and everything that entails.

the surface would have to be sitting super close to the face mesh so your shapekeys can just move it in slightly or out slightly.

For those that know unity shit well. Which of these animation parameters is the one that changes the normal map of a mesh?

Like what is it called? there's a billion of these and I can't figure out which of these changes a normal map. I'm making an animation that changes my avatar's texture (which eventually will go into an on and off toggle) but I also have to change the normal map or it looks off. I figured out which one toggles the actual texture, but now I need to toggle the normal.

You press the red record button and ltierally just drag the material to the material slot of the meshrender of the gameobject while you're recording.
