Is it just me, or lip sync is broken in new avatar SDK? All blend shapes are still working through expressions menu, but mouth is always shut.
Only avatars with jaw bone works, the ones I uploaded with previous SDK are also fine, but once I test them, they stop speaking.

check all your animations and make sure none of them are touching the lipsync blendshapes. if an animation touches those blendshapes, the animator overwrites whatever the lipsync is doing and will make it not work, even if that animation is not active.

all the slots must be filled. if any of the viseme blendshape options are set to None, the visemes won't work at all. it has always been this way, so either you are mistaken or they were always filled.

Question from a vr-less pleb. I know there are tons of "3D virtual theatre" apps that allow you to play back stereoscopic video, sourced from 3D blu-rays and the like.

Now, some PC games natively support stereoscopic 3D. It's uncommon now, but it was a trend in the early 2010s when stereo monitors were being pushed. Deus Ex Human Revolution is one example. Nvidia used to have a hack to get stereo rendering working in other games, although it's discontinued now. I think there are some other third-party hacks for it too.

My question is... let's assume I can convince a game to output stereo 3D, in a format intended for stereo monitors/TVs. Is there VR software available to allow me to view that on a large virtual screen?

I was vaguely aware of vorpx, but I didn't mention it because I didn't want to give the wrong idea. I understand that program is mainly about trying to hack in "real" VR support (motion tracking etc) for normally flat games- that's explicitly not what I'm looking for.
It looks like that's it's main selling point but I do see some references to being able to use a virtual cinema mode instead. I can't find much about that feature because it's not promoted very prominently, and their website is terrible in general.

Have you used it yourself in that mode? Does it successfully give the effect of playing games on a 3D projector, like the 3D movie-playing apps can do?

it's something that sounds alluring to an outsider but really not worth the hassle. VR games that are actually designed as such can be great, but I'd rather look at a real screen than a virtual screen that shuts me out from seeing anything else
