everyone enjoys different things in VR. there are other activities in VRC that people do for hours on end that i personally don't understand, but clearly they seem to enjoy it.
a change of scenery every so often is good, though. i feel like a new map every 2 hours helps keeps things fresh, but i never dare drop portals because inevitably either no one will go in or the instance gets split in half and things peter out.
