-STEP!! (Million Live) - This year the ALLSTARS show, a large group performance with as many people from /vrg/ as we can get, has been upgraded into the Million Live show. It will be a music video made with canned animations to better include those from different time zones. The goal is to have EVERYBODY or as close to that as we can get. This year’s song is the Idolm@ster classic “GO MY WAY!!!” with a costume that will hopefully fit the cool/cute theme the thread voted for. To participate all you have to do is submit your vocals for the song and a unity package of your model in the group costume to the organizer.

-JUMP!!! (/vrg/ Idol Festa) – The main event! A glorified karaoke contest where /vrg/’s top idols (this could be you!) will compete against each other live on stage in a gigantic clash of singing, dancing and fashion. You can enter as a solo contestant or get your friends together and jam out as a team to your favorite tunes.

Whops, You can't see it, but it's called "Smear brush, and is that checked Box, so you k ow where to find it.
Play around with strength and radius. I amear the darker parts of the head down onto the neck in vertical downstrokes, then low atrength circular brushes below for some good smearing to get rid of that seam.

Doing this takes a few min and gives good results. I have the head&Body on the same texture/mesh, but it should also work on 2 different materials, as long as they are merged into one mesh(you can use seperate by material in Cats to seperate them again when done)

to be more specific, the face and all its shapekeys should be a separate mesh from the rest of the body. the rest of the body should have zero shapekeys. this adds an extra mesh total but is better on CPU performance because there are less vertices affected by shapekeys.
if you have 1 mesh, unity will have to go through all the vertices to apply shapekeys, even parts of the mesh that have no shapekeys affect them (such as the legs and torso).
additionally, if you have any shapekeys always active, consider setting them as the new basis with CATS so that they aren't shapekeys at all anymore.

if you really want to minmax this, combine shapekeys in blender using "New shape from mix" to have 1 shapekey per facial expression (rather than separately having eyebrows, eyes, mouth etc all on different shapekeys for a happy face).

I think it's more the case that I'm frequently in meetups in my own timezone where I don't know half of them and they all seem to be part of the same group, so it's hard to integrate. I feel like a bit of a relic of a bygone time, lost in the shuffle, which is part of what makes it more attractive to try to find another (smaller, well defined) group that is consistently on when I'm online. Then I'd feel like I have a more proper home rather than a stranger.

Your first option is to spend $1k on objectively the best headset you can get right now, the Valve Index. If that is way too beyond your pay grade, get a Quest 2 and deal with the Zucc.

After setting the headset up and downloading VD go into your rotuer firewall and block the mac address of the Q2 from sending or receiving packets from the internet.

I just use wireless with my router. So PC connects to router via ethernet and then 5ghz band streams wirelessly to headset. The packet blocking in the router is only for sending packets outside your local network so the PC and Q2 can still see each other fine. I was in the same predicament when I joined. I ended up getting an Index and don't regret it at all.

The reason for using an Index is it gives a clear path to getting full body tracking, connects with the PC, has really good audio, and doesn't deal with Microsoft or Facebook. At the time I bought it, Microsoft headsets were rare and I wasn't sure I could run one.

I really like playing VRChat and having FBT, and I had the money for it. I did have some issues with the Oculus software and it working with Quest 2, but it was workable. Index has the advantage of using just SteamVR and nothing else, so less points of failure, but the root cause may lie in your own system and not the headset. Not him but I get this issue where sometimes the facial expressions don't revert back 100% and get stuck after releasing a gesture. I have to reset avatar to get them to go back to neutral. When I make the fx layer for a new outfit it's using the same base model with the same shapekeys and the fx layer is just duplicated from one that already exists and works fine and has the right/lefthandgesture layers untouched. Only extra thing that happens to that fx layer is the extra layers for other toggles or whatever get deleted from the original and new ones made for the new outfit. Deleting and remaking the fx layer also fixes it sometimes. I'm guessing it's a unity problem with layer order or some bullshit like that.

you're not using "any state" transitions either which is good! "Any State" transitions are bad for performance. single layers with a simple predictable state machine like those are absurdly fast. the code for those animations doesn't even run until the parameter updates.

At each point, the transitions determine where the token can move to. The important thing to realize is that there is only ONE token for each layer.

The screws are really long, and have plenty of thread to bite into even with the washer there.

Unfortunately it's still a tundra tracker, making it useless for anything but tracking your feet.
I figured I'd have a go at using it as a chest tracker, but between the tracker itself and the tundra dongle, the verdict is a resounding nope.

That seems to have worked. I pointed them straight up and zeroed out the roll.
I actually tried to do it before but when I jumped out of edit into pose mode they hadn't moved? I had already Pose->Clear Transform->All so that confused me.
This time I exported to fbx (on 3.x) and imported into 2.93 (so CATS could generate visemes) and did not encounter that issue.
Although strangely enough the eye bones were the only ones that didn't get changed to pointing straight up after the fbx import. Be curious to know why.
