it's Friday, what fun VR activites are you planning for today?
>>392005758
i will try to find some more potatoes and tomatoes
so that we can make armor potions for the trials
I want to add a gigantic cock onto the arena map of B&S. Is this possible?
>>392005758
my younger brother wants to try my headset, i'm worried he will break it somehow.
maby i'll let him play the superhot vr demo.
>>392007070
just show him that rollercoaster demo, that's what I always show first when someone wants to try VR
in 95% of cases they immediately get sick and will never want to try VR again
make sure you turn all the helmet options off for maximum motion sickness

Survios games haven't been good for a while, or ever arguably. At least Alien Isolation can be played in VR.

there's a vr mod for Alien Isolation.

I know that I can buy or print protective covers for the green part of the image on Index controllers but I haven't seen any way to protect the outer half-ring. Something that covers it completely would probably block the sensors so I was thinking about buying these small silicone/rubber bumpers and stick them all over the shell (red ciricles). Would this be a good idea or is there a better way? I don't have a habit of mashing my controllers against the wall but I want to have something just in case I have an accident.

You can engage in wombat combat, but in VR.
i got upgraded kiwi elite strap and i must say that its very good, not as good as many people are saying, but still very good
imo the best part about that strap is option to lift quest 2 without taking it off, without it i would probably return it lel
oh and now i cant fit quest 2 with strap to my chink case, i have remove it and then it will go

>>392043935
You guys really think it could be adhd? I've been having trouble at work too.
>>392031890
seems like a decent idea. you can look at teardowns of the controller to see where the actual sensors are under the plastic, they're not that big. I don't know how much shock those little rubber bumpers would actually absorb up to the point that the entire ring snaps off, but in any case it wouldn't hurt.
>>392048131
i'm fairly sure procrastination is a common problem. you could also simply not have the energy to take on vidya, or not feel like it for some other reason, or maybe you're just not all that interested.
can't guarantee cause i have unironic diagnosed adhd, kek. had to spend my entire life on learning how to get shit done and it's still not easy sometimes. but whatever, one way or another, i feel like the solution to your problem is probably putting honest and serious effort into taking on activities you want to take. i know the idea of "putting effort into starting a game" sounds dumb, but this is how it is, it seems like the situation demands it

>>392049150

>>392049382
you could put the rubber dots on your walls instead. or hang up bubble wrap.
>>392046548
Well done spatial audio adds so damn much to the experience with roomscale games you can move around in, it's an underrated aspect in VR games.
So guys. I'm the dude that kept being butthurt and complaining about my performance in AC (big maps like SRP and LAC specifically) and DR2 with a G2 and a 5800x/6900xt. For AC I had to run at 60hz, 80% SS, and AMD FSR on balanced and I'd still get some frame drops. For DR2 I ran 80% SS, medium settings, quality FSR, with frame drops. Now I'm bypassing Steam VR, and running OpenComposite (OpenXR) + the OpenXR toolkit. Both games at 100% SS, which makes them look way better, FSR for AC at ultra (in CM, which I don't know if it works if you use OpenXR, since that's where you turn FSR on when using opencomposite), no FSR for DR2, and settings at high. Both games run at 60 fps, while looking way better, and I haven't noticed frame drops yet. You lose the convenience of Steam VR features like fpsVR, the menu that lets you reset view, and some other things, but fuck that. This is literally a game changer. DR2 no longer looks like a piss stain. If I play with the settings I can probably run at 90hz too. I haven't tried recording gameplay yet, but it probably works somehow.
I think this should be in the OP. Like I can't believe how much of a performance goblin Steam VR is. You just need these two hoes below and it's super easy to install and switch back if you want to.
https://gitlab.com/znixian/OpenOVR/-/tree/openxr#downloading-and-installation
https://mbucchia.github.io/OpenXR-Toolkit/
What game is this?
>>392064105
Is there a performance boost if you use an Index or a Vive? What about something like the Quest 2 with Virtual Desktop which goes through Steam VR by default?
>>392074581
I don't know but for WMR it works great.
>>392074581
>Index or Vive
No, because they interface with SteamVR natively, but with a Quest 2, yes. The performance overhead and issues are caused by needing to run through compositors in order to match the SteamVR platform, as most headsets nowadays have their own software they use. Oculus is the most notable example of this as they had their own shit for a long time. To explain it in the most simple terms, even though this isn't quite accurate, think of it like emulating something, it's a drain on resources. The reverse applies if you're using SteamVR to run Oculus native games via Revive.
This is why OpenXR is becoming such a pushed thing because every headset can set itself as the openXR runtime and bypass SteamVR entirely, even if you're running the game via steam. It's not exactly Valve's fault here, just OpenVR being a much more proprietary standard where each company has far more of their own special mix of runtimes, more or less. It's why compatibility from some real old VR games can be a huge headache if not running on a Vive or Oculus HMD.
Ok, grenades in ITR seem pretty damn good actually lol
>almost finish clearing out factory, underestimated the amount of ammo i should bring
>half a mag left
>3 commandos, 2 armored, spot me outside
>run behind a wall some 30-40m ahead of them
>lob a grenade in their general direction as far as I can
>peek around the wall and finish off the last commando with the last of my ammo
Or maybe I'm just lucky
Either way feelsgoodman
>>392075781
I see. So Virtual Desktop is the same as Airlink or link in that case? I thought that VD was native SteamVR.
>>392075892
I find throwing them really hard with the vive controls. Always carry one on me in case I need to pop it around a corner or down a pit though.
>>392076386
It's the same. For some reason, one can perform better than the other for some people, but it won't change the core problem of being on an Oculus HMD and having the resources from it being sucked up.

>>392075781
>No, because they interface with SteamVR natively,
Performance actually CAN be better, because SteamVR is a buggy garbage. It is indeed also the driver for index, but I wouldn't be surprised if the driver is also mess. I don't think it is possible to bypass SteamVR on windows if you use index, but for linux there is Monado.
Someone really needs to test "OpenXR game through SteamVR" against "OpenXR game through Monado" and compare performance, just so we can see the absolute state of steamvr.
Damn man vrmassive is actually comfy as fuck what the hell.
post yfw the first time you heard "Is Max coming out to play?"
>>392084034
Quality Pavlovin'. The weapon gacha is wild with all the modded guns it has. I am not sure if quick reload actually does anything in VR however. This could be serious ludo with a full eight people.
>>392094715
>I am not sure if quick reload actually does anything in VR however
What Speed Cola does in VR is that it automatically ejects your magazine when you grab a new one from your pouch and auto racks the gun when you put the mag in. It totally changes the game for some weapons with how fast you can reload then.
>>392084034
>>392094715
>Tfw missed out on the zombies
Looks fun at fuck. Just a word of warning that trying to go beyond 4 people on most maps is begging for complete and utter chaos unless the map is open and built for it, like Lammy's. Most of them are too claustriphobic to easily play with many people at once.
It's fun chaos, but it's chaos.
>Playing VRChat one day

>Decide to look up "ASL" in world search

And that's how I started my journey learning sign language and got a shit tonne more use out of VR than any other game.

This is your life on AMD GPUs
>>392069837
it's gotta be some sort of shitty demo, I doubt there's a full game out there.

Thinking of doing some Pistol & Bolt action only S&D tomorrow at 18 UTC.
Should I keep the deagle/revolver in or remove them? To give an initiative to use bolt actions like the hunting rifle instead?
Is the Chao Avatar place gone?
The one with the flying Chaos
>>392130584
remove them
>>392130584
Remove them and add the pump
>>392132045
>>392133106
Ok, I remove them, pump would be too OP if up against pistols/bolt actions imo.
Guys I don't want to move to Finland...
>>392136506
Are you sure? 13 degrees C here.
>>392130584
pistol always wins tho
>>392137821
You should be able to buy both pistol and bolt action most rounds anyway.
>>392110521
Next gen will AMD stand a chance to NVIDIA?
>>392130584
I think pistols would be too strong against bolt actions desu.
>>392138686
yes, but it will be litterally pistol only, because rifles will just loose immediately at low range and low reload speed.
>>392144683
>>392149870
Then don't buy bolt action anon.
>>392144481
With flat games things are comparable. With VR I doubt that things will change.
>base station has blinking red light
how common is this? i got my index in december. I already sent a message to steam support and they will be sending me a new one
>>392110521
Whats wrong with AMD GPUs for VR?
>>392166124
Very unstable frame rates.
>>392166231
So I fucked up by buying a RT 6600xt?
>>392166419
I had a 6900 XT and it was terrible, so probably. Maybe there was something wrong with that model, or even that specific unit, but it was even worse than using the GTX 1080 it replaced. Every game would stutter constantly and have low frame rates.
>>392166785
Really?
So far, on my 6600, Into The Radius, Skyrim, H3VR, and Boneworks all run good
>>392130584
Pistols are too good to allow them in a game mode with bolt actions being a focus. You can easily two tap heads and even miss a few shots with a pistol before you can shoot twice with a bolt action just because they're semiautomatic. Other anon's idea of shotguns would be neat though. Shottysnipes in pavlov.
>>392167513
It depends on the game and headset you are using I guess. The lower speed vram (GDDR6 vs. GDDR6X on the Nvidia cards) will bottleneck things if you supersample a lot. Wireless encoding can be worse too if you use Airlink on the Quest 2.
>>392176397
>amd is shit
>works for me
>b-but it depends on games
fuck off jewvidia shill
im forced to use quest two as my main monitor until monday and i must say its too good desu
if only battery wasnt so shitty or if there was option to bypass battery so it would work just with usb cable without charging battery i could actually use quest 2 as monitor
considering i almost paid the same price for new monitor (270€ for Gigabyte M27Q) quest two is insane deal and with it being wireless, its just gets too fucking comfy when you can just go to your bad with it, i really dont get why so many people are ignoring the fact that you can do so much more with it then just playing stupid vr forever beta 'games'
and the best part, 0 eye fatigue because of depth, easy 10/10
the worst two parts, as i mention early battery and weight, even with kiwi strap i still feel that toster weight
Test. Making this post in VR.
>>392178804
Can confirm AMD is trash. I have a 6900xt.
>>392169957
Pistols are the focus, bolt actions are a choice, and for long distances, bolt actions trump pistols.
>>392182251
>for long distances
They don't. Sheer number of bullets means accuracy doesn't matter.
>>392182639

>>392183846
The ww2 pistols are garbage though. 5-7 and deag are unironically high tier weapons.
>>392184531
There will be no deagle, replaced by bolt actions.
5-7 will be the high tier pistol.
>>392184752
Also, AWP and 50cal are bolt actions.

>>392206903
I'm on a WMRboi using opencomposite.
anyone else run into an issue with ITR and can only use items with the right trigger?
>>392200743
I like Nvidia Shadowplay for recording myself. OBS's VR plug-in works too.
>>392207696
shit, thoughts and prayers then. the biggest issue with >>392201908 is aspect raidou, so if you'll squeeze it horizontally a bit in whatever you use to prepare videos for webm, it should be fine. i think ffmpeg will squeeze it if you'll just specify a resolution, so -vf scale 1000:600 or something could work
>>392200743
crop?
>>392192241
All I can hear is chu-ching chu-ching with the cost of those missed shots.
>>392207696
There used to be a preview built into the WMR app, it was a little triangle button and you could set OBS or whatever you use to record that window instead of the game.

They were signing, and then also using Speech to Text.
>>392247548

>>392188785
>V imprint on your nose
i never had it, maybe because setup 3 for lens on quest 2 is good for me
about to try get into VR here. is the Quest 2 just absolutely insane value for money or is there something wrong with it? it's so much cheaper than everything else but doesn't seem like it has horrible specs either
>>392255093
unless you set up airlink or buy a cable to connect to a pc, you'll be severely limited in what you can do with the headset
you'll also be stuck in meta's ecosystem regardless, enjoy that eating more of your overhead alongside steamvr
inside-out tracking isn't great, when i was using a q2 my hands flying off into the distance at inopportune moments was commonplace
it's also a little more of a hassle to upgrade compared to a headset with base stations if you ever wanted to try different controllers or get trackers for full body tracking
those are the biggest things that immediately come to mind
>>392255093
You have to sell your soul to Facebook and their walled garden, the controllers are tracked by the headset so it has blindspots, even wired PCVR games are compressed, the stock strap and faceplate are bad, the speakers and mic are bad. For $300 it's still a very good deal, however.
>>392255093
It's insane value for money, everyone universally agrees on that. People hate it for facebook bits, iand overall and obviously it's a budget device without frills, but for $300 it's an absolute steal.
>>392255093
It's like a console, cheap and good enough but it drags people into its ecosystem. Meta has invested hard in VR expecting a return when "the metaverse" becomes a thing, zuck's vision is to be the foundation of the metaverse.
>>392210136
Has the OBS VR plug in been updated recently? Last time I tried it an year ago it was kind of ass.
>>392216831
It's already cropped.
>>392217057
Am I not already using that since I'm bypassing steamvr?
>>392255093
dont listen to retards like this one >>392255427
quest 2 is the best vr headset for the money you can buy
fb account is already gone, yes they are still spying on you but who gives a fuck
imo the worst part is limited tracking, but i will take it every time than drilling fucking lighhouses that will 100% break and you dont even need that tracking unless you wanna fuck in vr tranny
being able to use quest 2 anywhere you want, WIRELESS is the best, you can go with it to you bed for max /comfy/ and watch/play vidya or whathever the fuck you want from your pc, nothing beats setting up screen as big as you want in position that you want
i really love how retards here are always seething about quest 2, because they got fucked by fat fuck and thing their overpriced shit is better
>muh ecosystem
>muh metaverse
>muh account
>muh mobile shit that stops 'real' gayms
>>392255093
Quest 2 is the best value headset on the market by a mile. The catch is that Zuck gets some of your usage data, it previously required a Facebook account and your options for tranny trackers are limited.
>>392198119
vr tranny
>>>/v/605995226
to be honest, blindly hating meta is better than blindly loving them
>>392264171
i don' think anyone blindly loves meta here, anons range from "i'd rather pay $1000 and stay away from it" to "whatever, it runs same steamvr games anyway"
has anyone even tried core facebook stuff in here?
>>392255093
This guy brings up base stations:
>>392262821
I want to add that the tracking with a Quest, when it comes to drawing or something in the air, is complete ass. And you don't have to drill base stations in, you can use tripod stands that are specifically designed for VR base stations. I use 2 of these tripods for my set-up, and they work fine.
Get a Quest, I guess, if you don't care too much about drawing in VR. The base station tracking will always be superior for drawing in VR, and just precision tracking in general. This is the one thing about the Quest that is seriously bad, and questies in VRChat tend to complain about it or bring up how much better my handwriting is. Then I sometimes explain to them why.
>>392264171
i really dont understand why people really fucking hate zuck
desu i respect him for what he is doing, i dont think anyone else would burn this much money on fucking vr meme and deliver headset as good as quest 2 for that price with this hardware/software

>i don' think anyone blindly loves meta here
Contrarianism is the strongest force on this website, you'd be surprised.
>>392264639
>The base station tracking will always be superior
it will always be superior for everything, quest 2 tracking is very simplified and 'just werks' which makes it good enough for what it is

I don't, what he is doing actually sinister shit if you just think about it for a second.
VR has a lot of potential inside, just like the old internet had back in the day. It still has soul within, and zack just trying to be the first one to start extracting it and turning it into money/power.
Big corps already sucked the internet dry, it's exactly the reason why it sucks so much these days. And now they want to do the same to VR.
Zack is not doing what he is doing out of kindness of his heart. It's an investment. Plain and simple.

There's a unit outside your window attached to the wall, then there's the actual AC on the inside that blows cold air towards your ballsack. Honestly it's not even that expensive, it's just that my living situation is kind of wack at the moment. I don't wanna buy it.

>After setting the headset up and downloading VD go into your rotuer firewall and block the mac address of the Q2 from sending or receiving packets from the internet.

amd definetly has shit encodeing so airlink is only viable on nvidia gpus. Also your idea of "runs good" could be skewed by the fact that you have very low expectations being an amd user lol. hardware wise amd is 1:1 comparable to nvidia or maybe even better but their shitty windows drivers leaves a lot of performance headroom especially in vr. I do hope things change as some triple a studios will have to optimize with rdna2 in mind for their hybrid games on psvr2

>>392255093
Its a great headset with an even greater upcoming exclusive library. Its definitely a miss if you care at all about your privacy tho. There are some decent looking and well optimized standalone games That are very comparable to their pcvr ports. The headstrap seems to be the biggest catch for a lot of people so definitely spend a bit extra on a good third party headstrap and look into "FreeForAll" piracy or if you don't want to install some sketchy program just download games from a torrent site and sideload them.
>>392287608
To be fair Virtual Desktop encodes much better than Airlink as it uses XR2 features that Zucc didn't even bother to touch. Saying that Airlink has issues doesn't even matter when there isn't a reason to use it over Virtual Desktop in general.
>>392288975
>To be fair Virtual Desktop encodes much better than Airlink as it uses XR2 features
Decodes? Why would XR2 features matter here, decoding was never the problem?
>>392290373
VD handles the encoding on the PC side too. It's just better software. Airlink is half baked. For $20 it's entirely worth it.
>>392291128
I have a feeling that you are talking out of your ass.
>VD handles the encoding on the PC side too.
Still didn't explain what that has to do with XR2 features.
>>392291292
Because the video is encoded on the PC end with XR2's decoding in mind, rather than Zuccs implementation which doesn't take full advantage of the hardware.
>>392287337
Do you have any benchmarks to back your claim up? I'm genuinely curious as this the first I've heard of it.
>>392291563
You know, the stuff you are talking about is easily quantifiable. If you want to shill properly just create graphs and comparison screenshots.
It is much better than "mhhh, yeah, airlink bad, vd good, alright".
What am I in for bros? Is co-op any good?
You guys have any experience record through the WMR preview window? I did a few test recordings and it worked fine. Then I started recording sickass driving for real, and when I checked the fotty the WMR window had frozen on one frame the entire time.
>>392297234
I mostly record with OBS's VR plugin as you get a bigger view than the WMR window. It's never bugged out on me either. That way you can get any aspect ratio you want for a more true experience to what you see through the lens.
>>392299946

why the fuck they wont allow you to change it? and virtual desktop allows to setup screen how you want, you can just grab it and move it how you actually want, unlike fucking airlink and you dont see that stupid oculus store page with the same games, they never update it
anyway, anyone knows program for pcvr that can do just black void like virtual desktop? i dont wont any stupid rooms, just my black void
>>392300280
You might want to try updating both. The plugin is certainly not perfect. It has a memory leak if you launch OBS without VR running, but it is powerful. If I had made this webm now I would have at the very least recorded it square rather than going with 16:9. That and I would use VP9 now that 4chan supports it of course.

Literally just sell the 6900xt second hand for a bit less than msrp and buy a 3080 for vr. I really do think that amd can be super competitive with nvidia considering that they're newer to the high end gpu market and drivers can take a bit to marinate. Look at intels entry with the a380: performs far worse than a fucking 1050ti. The hardware is there but drivers are gonna take their sweet time. VR is the cutting edge so of course nvidia is gonna be leading for now. But then again, we'll have to see if amd makes any interesting developments with rdna3 in regards to VR. That and also the fact that there's gonna be a whole lot of vr development on the ps5 which is PACKING an rdna2 gpu.
>>392310090

>that's why all my mods are glorified VorpX wrappers that run like shit and never get fixed because I drop them and move onto more audiences to milk
Like most grifters on patreon earning tens of thousands of dollars for doing fuck all this cunt is so full of himself. Imagine going after Valve for making a game with some of the most polished hand and object interaction of all time and then saying
>you don't actually need any hand controllers to interact with the environment because...uhh... because valve set the bar too high!
Talk about schizophrenia, cunt.

This absolute fucking mongoloid. Being in VR is more than just having a screen duct-taped to your eyeballs with an awful rendering method on top of that. He doesn't get to rag on motion controls without looking like a complete fool when he's making the standards so goddamn low.
The Resident Evil mods, and several others, are light years ahead of his trash.
>>392350274
>>392351116
>i have no idea what makes a VR game fun
>actually interacting with your environment is dumb, you should be seated when gaming
take your bets on how out of shape this cockwomble is
>>392357717
Just bizarre how flawed that line of reasoning is.
>VR hand controls are just wagglan!
Congrats bro, stay in 2012/2013 with your seated Unity demo where you look around this tuscan villa for 30 seconds and then go "Gee I really wish I could pick up that object, maybe someday!"
>but he makes mods for AAA games!
And all of them run like absolute shit. His RDR2 is literally unplayable and gives you a headache because it uses a flawed rendering method just like VorpX used to do. It was nowhere near ideal but at least it was proof of concept. And I have a 3080ti. I can't even begin to imagine how the cyberpunk one runs.
Terrible grifter with boneheaded opinions making too much money from idiots on patreon. Many such cases.
>>392266957
I just go for 100% reprojection desu, im braindead enough to not really notice it except for when it toggles
so I got a quest 2 as a freebie, anything I should know before I sell my soul to the Zucc
Tried green hell VR for a few hours today. Pretty immersive asides from some of the inventory controls. Definitely worth checking out if you're into grindy survival crafting games
>>392358314
At that point I just prefer to play a game flat. I have a decent 175hz monitor with better colors than my VR headset, I rarely see the point in games without motion controls outside of some cockpit games. It doesn't help that alternate eye rendering in the ross mods looks so juddery.
>green hell VR
unity trash that runs like shit
>>392364078
Personally I'm waiting on multiplayer. That game will be miles ahead of The Forest once multiplayer is patched in. I also hope that the DLCs for the flat game get brought over as well.

Then you are fucking blind. Record the gameplay with framegraph visible.
>>392365083
you sound miserable. Even if I upload proof you're still going to cry about it.
>>392365268
I have low tolerance for trash.
>Even if I upload proof you're still going to cry about it.
Record the gameplay with framegraph visible on not completely terrible rendering resolution (lowering it wouldn't help much honestly, there are game programming issues).
While doing that you will see exactly how terrible that shit runs and we wouldn't need to have this discussion in the first place.
>>392361376
You won't need to use a Facebook account very soon so it might be worth waiting a week to set it up if you don't want to use that. Other than that make sure you get a third party head strap, the cloth one sucks. And you'll need either a cable or a battery to play PCVR. I recommend getting a battery and Virtual Desktop for PCVR but I also hear Air Link is okay and that's free.
Less than 10 hours till nothing.

>attention criminals
>we took the guns of all non-criminals, for your convenience ;)
I'm not american, is this sign satire?
>>392393679
5-7 and tec9 were too dominant, they'll have the range advantage and are less RNG than the pump so I foresee it happening again. Personally I'd also like more than 1 primary weapon choice too.
Go with all the shotguns and limit pistols to Glock/Beretta/1911.
Don't know if Google Earth VR counts as a game, but I've been having some issues with it. It started just recently popping "cannot load next image" in street view, and it's really not an issue with my internet because nothing has changed on that department. I wonder if anyone else has encountered same thing and has some quick fix.
Tried fiddling with it and even reinstalled, nothing works. Street view is basically unusable as of now. It's kinda sad because the "game" was my designated relaxation shit.
>>392395435
I have the same Pistol/Bolt minus deagle/Revolver/50 cal, and gonna replace 5-7 and Tec9 with pump shotgun and sawn off.
Should be decent enough, and give the choice between pump or rifle for primary.
And avoid the dominant pistol meta of 5-7 & tec9.
>>392397034
It's also possible to nerf damage etc of guns, if someone has any good idea.

>>392420881
when you're kayaking irl, you're actually holding the paddle kinda in front of your face, at least initially. it's not necessarily impossible for it to work well. single paddles, if they're in game, are even easier to track as initially you're holding top of the paddle pretty much right in front of your field of view

anyone play demeo? i'd probably rather try it out with a group from here than take a chance with randoms
>>392443714
From what I've seen so far, it's exactly as little as you probably think it is. Kayaks kayaking around, and some time trials (with visible ghosts of other players) as a separate mode.
>>392444350
Controls don't feel bad at all imo, if anything my biggest weird-out is how overly responsive this kayak can get sometimes. As for stick, you can row at ridiculous cheaty speeds by holding your hands very close and making small circular motions, but then row physics get wonky and overall it doesn't seem beneficial compared to pretending there is weight and water resistance and moving in slower, but more fluid motions. There is lots of maps and I've only tried one so far (had one quick session), but it didn't seem particularly large, so I wouldn't expect much.
You're absolutely right, this game needs coop bad. Two kayaks, one kayak, whatever.
>>392445291
Can you slap the shit out of fish in the water? I saw some gameplay video and a cat fish swam under the kayak. I imagined picking it up like a pancake and yoinking it into a rock. Is it also hard to run? What are you playing it on?

demeo is a fun game. when it first released there wasn't enough content but with four dungeons, its shaping up to be a decent game. I'll play with you if you ever host.

No i'm not buying AC for 3 very hot days, yes i'm still gonna complain.
>>392446328
3080ti, so can't say much about performance. If i'd have to guess, I'd assume it'll work fine on lower-end configurations, as I'm getting full frames with no reprojection on ultra, and that's annoyingly rare in VR vidya regardless of the hardware.

Assetto Corsa. VR is made for simracing. AC has a shit ton of mods and tracks to drive on. SRP and LAC being the best.
>>392450048
Probably Pavlov because it's the only game I've ever played as part of a community and thus spent long enough to stop being completely terrible at it.
>>392445234
it's a really polished little dungeon crawler, I like it quite a bit, even though it was thin on content at first. I do wish it had custom map/mod support, but the devs are at least adding new stuff at a decent pace. I'd play with you sometime too.

Vivecraft. It's a VR port of Minecraft, but gives motion controls to a random sandbox without any boundaries and unlimited potential. Cave exploring in VR is the best

my favorite game this year so far is Last Clockwinder. fun puzzle automation game that actually makes use of motion controls in a unique way. It's kind of short so i guess pirate it if you don't think it's worth full price for a 5 hour game, but it's definitely worth playing regardless.

I don't remember. I bought it because someone had made a YGO mod and I figured I could maybe play YGO with someone, but then I realized I have no friends and literally nobody cared about me and literally nobody in here would want to play, so I turned the game off before I was done checking the options menu.

>>392460215
It is really that easy ? I know it was easy to fuck with amazon with putting random crap in the box and sending back the thing at some point, but lmao
>>392461019
It depends. I've had a lot of Amazon deliveries where they take a picture of the package in front of the door and address. Probably because people do exactly what he did.
>>392428054
well, i tried it. it's less frustrating in some ways than TTS but still really clunky. they basically just attached the pointer to the tip of your right controller and the right-click menu to the left, so you're one-handed, and then just mapped like 50% of the usual operations to various buttons. You can do the usual pinch-to-zoom gesture for world scale but for some stupid reason it doesn't apply until you release the grips, and it uses your playspace origin instead of head origin for turning so you can't predict where you'll end up. You can't hold a hand of cards, it's only on the special table holder.
Oh well, i didn't expect much. Continues to reinforce how much the UI polish matters in Demeo in my mind. Despite it not being a particularly deep dungeon crawler, it just feels so much better than trying to struggle through any game in TTS/P.
Is after the fall worth it if I dont have friends?
>>392461528
They took a pic of my box but I just told them I was at work when it arrived but I didn't see it at my house when I got there.
To be fair I have no cameras looking at my door so I was pretty confident doing it, they are not going to spend money investigating it since it was the first time it has happened in close to 8 years that I've been their costumer.

Stealing from daddy amazon memes aside, i currently have a quest 2. It is honestly already fucking amazing even with the compression and low fov/resolution.
But it definitely spoiled me with the absolute liberty it offers, no cable no nothing, just absolute fucking liberty.
But i'm still tempted to pick up a Vive Pro 2 for christmas, or something like that.
any interesting demos that came out with the vr fest
>>392463842
Don't. Unless you're already in the lighthouse ecosystem, wait and see what comes out if you're planning to buy all the way at Christmas. Project Cambria is likely to be out by then, Pimax is going to come out with two HMDs by then if you have a ludicrous(2000+) budget, with the 2400 one having literally fucking everything you could want, and we'll probably see some announcements by then or in early 2023. The Vive Pro 2+Controllers+Lighthouses is gonna run you around easily over 1000 bucks even if you grab some used at a discount. That's a high enough price range you should use the Q2 as a holdover for the next generation.
>>392463073
Host issue is still there but I've never seen one leave. Maps are short enough that they can usually stick around to the end.
It's crossplatform so lots of quest kids but I've had good luck finding people to play multiple maps with during mid/late EU evenings. You could always ask here too, I'm sure there are people who missed out on launch or don't have fully upgraded weapons yet.
>>392464226
Fair enough. Better keep my money for when something really nice will be out, you're right. Not like the Quest 2 isn't good enough for me right now. Cheers bro'
>>392463842
I thought the Quest 2 had one of the higher resolutions?
>>392464915
It has a pretty high resolution for the price, but it's not one of the highest anymore. And it's only really true for native Quest 2 games, if you play with any kind of link, you get a compressed signal that will sadly be worse.

>>392461682
Dungeon crawlers are best played flat tbqh. You can't display all the information you need efficiently in VR, and it's not like CRPGs really benefit from VR anyways. Even if good CRPGs like Planescape Torment got a VR port it'd still be a chore to have to squint and read everything.

as soon as you finish it go right ahead and fire up the workshop to get some mods going, there's a huge amount of quality user created content
So what the fuck is with After the Fall and losing your guns? I've lost guns because I completed a stage, lost guns because of a failed mission, and lost a gun just from quitting a stage
What the hell is the consistency supposed to be? Is it supposed to be like this? Is it a bug? Really ruining the experience when I lost two maxed out guns a very helpful player gave me for reasons I cannot explain.
Is there really anything big to look forward to aside from PSVR2? I'm afraid Deckard Just Isn't gonna come around as soon as people would hope judging by how inconsistent valve has been with hardware releases. They just aren't good at thinking long term at all. They can't even plot down their own near future on a timeline since devs just pickup and drop projects constantly. The way I see it pcvr is gonna be stagnant for a good while with Sony and Meta just sweeping up exclusive ports of acclaimed triple A games with longer runtimes and generally higher quality (yes hitman 3 and a bunch of others didn't exactly pan out well but RE games proved that they can be the best vr "experiences" to be had)
Is it just me, or is After the Fall one of the most generic games ever?
I'm about 40 minutes in, and its just not that fun. Every now and then I get a small moment of "eh that was kinda cool" but thats it. It doesnt help that Ive been playing Alyx all day, and got incredibly spoiled.

>>392480132
>>Ancient Dungeon
It's a pretty fun roguelite. That said after a couple of clears it got pretty tiresome to fight the same bosses over and over again.
>>Hellsplit: Arena
It's like Blade & Sorcery, but I like how you can't just solve encounters by chokeholding dudes. Sadly the game doesn't really let you set up fights. With dungeons and mods I think that B&S is just more interesting.
>>Buccaneers
Really lame unity asset flip. VR was secondary to this game.
>>Yuki
I like this one. The techno music and tight controls really help. That said it's another roguelite, and I feel like the game comes down to unlocking overpowered upgrades like powered drones and just steamrolling the game with them at that point. Enemies are too bullet spongey to practically finish off earlier on.
>>Green Hell
I like this one. It does physics based mechanics and survival mechanics very well from what little I played of it. The performance is pretty rough for me, but when the 4090 and the new Ryzens come out I'll try it again. They are adding multiplayer too which will be fun.
>>Warhammer 40k: Battle Sister
I don't like this game very much. The graphics are bad and there are very few enemies on screen at a time. Maybe pirate it if you really like 40K. I suffered through 40K Fire Warrior back in the day so I can sympathize if so.
>>392464503
If you fall for the wait meme you're making a mistake by the way. There's ALWAYS new headsets 'coming out'. They're always worse than what we already have. Get a quest 2, it's great for the money.
>>392491975
Already have a Quest 2 i said it in the previous post. I know about the whole waiting thing, but i think it's at least worth it to check out what new meme shit they will put out.
>Trigger on right controller breaks
>Have to play Mothergunship Forge with one hand until Valve fixes my shit
>It's actually not that bad
This game is well worth the $15 I paid for the CD key. I really like the roomscale dodging around and all the wacky combos you can get with building your guns, even constrained to one hand. That said the bosses are kind of lame and spongey compared to the much more frantic normal rooms.
>>392492256
Well that's fine, but you're gonna be like damn the index is still the best in 2025 and why is it now $1500
>>392492405
Speaking about that, is the index actually the better between it and the Vive Pro 2 ? Seems like the index doesn't have that big of a resolution but maybe i'm retarded.
>>392492575
The speakers are better, but the clarity is worse. I think that the Index is a more well rounded package that does cost less.
>>392492575
The vive pro 2 has worse everything else but the screen is great. But if you have a misshapen head, if your IPD is a off, if you wear the headset slightly wrong you won't see it. It gets hotter than the index, the FOV is worse than the index, the sound and comfort are worse than the index, and you still have to buy index controllers anyway else have vive dildos. It also costs more, has HTC support, and that many pixels are actually hard to drive, you might end up subsampling down just to get playable framerates.
That said it does look good.
>>392492821
The FOV is wider in my experience. It's the vertical FOV which is lower. It depends on whether you prefer width or height.

Based as fuck bros, thanks for the answers. One last question that i couldn't find an easy answer to :
I know you need stations for the tracking. But like, i use my headset for flight sims at my desk, but also elsewhere in the middle of my room to play standing game. Can i have like 2 sets of different trackers for each type of VR gaming ?
>>392493567
No, one type only. Two lighthouses will cover both positions though
>>392493567
You need to be in view of of at least one base stations sadly. That said if your desk is in the same room as your normal playspace with the stations you should be good.
>>392493736
>>392493749
I spoke like a retard. I meant like 2 sets of 2 tracking stations. But as i understand it, it makes no difference if there is 2 or 4 for the headset. I think it will be tricky with only 2, but i'll see what i can manage with my setup. Thanks for your answers anyway.
>>392494136
well with that shape room you'd want to buy at least one more base station to cover the room
>>392461682
Maybe if https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaXXgRdfkHs actually comes out it would offer the definitive board game experience in VR.
i just got into the radius. pretty sick. im on the first priority mission that takes me to the next area..
how much ammo do you normally bring when you set out? im nearly empty and probably going to have to just sprint by things on the way out
>>392494459
typical loadout is four full mags for rifles, two for the pistol
and usually a couple boxes extra in the backpack
ammo is both lightweight and cheap, buy and carry more than you think you need
>>392494301
Yeah i think i could manage with 3 after looking a bit. Thanks dude
It hurts seeing something with so much potential squandered by lacking polish or variety. Feels like so many VR games are almost great but have a few key flaws which tank the experience
Tried Legendary Tales in hopes of a melee VR fix and it has a pretty nice base with the physics interactions and melee combat where's most games suck at it. But the complete lack of both enemy and environment variety is abysmal and tanks the experience. The Korean minmax grindfest means you have to pick one aspect to focus on or get fucked and if you wanna try something else make a whole new character and take an eternity to grind up again. Why's it so hard to find good melee combat focused games beyond B&S?
>>392490469
Hybrid games are apparently gonna be huge. Don't know how much this holds up but some bigshot cod leaker (RalphsValve) claims that mw2 is gonna have some sort of psvr2 mode. Idk about the credebility of these sorts of "leaks" since I haven't been following them until now but I guess something like this isn't entirely out of the question before Microsoft's deal is finalized.

Next update will add at very least 5 regular enemies+boss+old skellies and goblins will learn new weapons/magic
Variety should get better.
>>392507634
I saw that coming update and I'm actually very excited about that. If they deliver on everything promised and it has all those extra enemies and locations to fight in, then it may very well be worth the cost as that'll leave only the questionable RPG stat aspects.
For now, 35 bucks is laughable. I want the game to succeed though because there isn't too much like it, especially on the co-op front.

Harrington who left Valve in 2000 is disatsified with the current focus on VR/Handheld instead of flat gaming and are using bribes to manipulate the flat structure of Valve in favour of flat gaming. Making devs not work on non flat gaming.

>>392538004
I didn't even know Microsoft bothered to make more than one Kinect. I assumed they only made one, then gave up when it failed.
>>392538158
There's the 360 Kinect and the Xbox One kinect. The later works 'better' but requires an expensive adapter. It's supposedly possible to solder something to bypass but when I tried it exploded, so I don't know if I just got trolled.
It does only track your legs. Hip movement doesn't work at all. You have to face it exactly, so you can no longer turn in real life at all. It has a lot of performance overhead, especially if you use more than one to get a wider tracking range. The 'tracking' consists of: if you move your leg, your leg will move in a different way about a second later. It feels like Wii controls rather than VR tracking.

The devs made some retarded as fuck decisions as well.
They did not add in FSR, but by default made the game install the openVR FSR mod and you have to reinstall that mod yourself and adjust the settings to disable FSR. Also TAA you can't disable.
>>392550007
FSR, DLSS and TAA are the bane of VR.
Inducing blurriness everywhere.
>>392550428
tried DLSS in Assetto Competizione and it wasn't really blurry, but the big issue was that upscaling was done differently for each eye (obviously, those are two different images), so for example rain on side window looked like a random sparkling white noise when you were trying to look at it and estimate how far away is it positioned from you. Not sure why they even allowed player to select it in VR mode.

Never expected i would actually consider Gal Gun 2 as good game.
It's simple, but mechanics are fully working and are fun.
Compared to Ruins Magus it's totally worth the price.

>>392552942
I always say Gal Gun2 is the best rail shooter Vr has ever
>>392542281
No. That's the inherent issue with using non-lighthouse based tracking. You're going to get blind spots wherever the headset's cameras don't cover. You can always buy a set of tracked controllers and lighthouses, but at that point, you may as well just buy an entire new VR kit.
>>392500768
Source? Where does he say that? If Sony can keep devs adding VR modes to their games as with Ace Combat and the coming RE4 remake I'll be pretty happy with getting a PS5.
>>392552942
I got bored of Ruinsmagus during the demo.
>>392500768
This is bad news. I don't want shit like No Mans Sky, Hitman, and other 'half VR' ports to become standard.
>>392532087
I'd say so. I use VRIK+Spellwheel+Skyvoice for doing dragon shouts so I rarely need to use actual menus. The customizable holster system the game has is really convenient, and honestly no other VR game sans maybe ITR has as nice of a holster system.
>>392555489
It'll (probably) be better this time because the PSVR2 is actually cutting edge hardware which is using industry standard inside out tracking and full roomscale. Compared to the disaster that was PSVR's motion controls and lacking any real support for room scale. So porting to PCVR should, in theory, be easier as it'll basically be already built for it mechanically.
>>392556026
It will probably still be designed for seated play because the average normalfag isn't going to clear a space to play standing.
>>392552942
I liked it quite a bit myself. It has a meaty amount of content too, especially as you will want to do all the routes via NG+. It's probably the best VR anime style game, especially as it is an actual game and not just a 3 hour 'experience' or whatever.
What am I in for lads? Looking forward to going full unga bunga.
>>392556185
Changing between seated and standing will be a much easier fix than the differences between PSVR 1 and all PC based HMDs. So I'm at least more optimistic about something good coming out of it if all the PSVR2 releases aren't in exclusivity jail.
>>392556907
PCVR is fucked if every dev decides to start making PSVR ports as well as for Quest 2.
>>392558420
If they're actually ported, no probably not and we'll be likely seeing some higher quality things vs the quest 2 port's we've been getting. PS5 is a ridiculously higher baseline than the Q2, especially once factoring foveated rendering. If they don't get ported though, then you're right, PCVR is gigafucked.
I'm hoping the rumors from a while back of Valve and Sony being in talks about VR and bringing Alyx to the PSVR 2 pan out. Because it'd probably mean that Alyx gets used as a bargaining chip to get Sony to let a few VR games they're funding onto Steam that'd otherwise be exclusives.
>>392558420
>decides
lmao, snoy only got psvr games because they paid for them, its the same shit every time when snoy/microshit release new hardware gimmick, they pump money into some shitty games for it and thats it, no more games for that shit

Just scroll down his """twatter""" page a bit and you'll find it. Also he claimed that it was supposed to be showcased at the June 2th state of play which didn't happen so I wouldn't make too big of a deal out of it. If it were to actually happen, I'd also expect more of a limited "VR mode" rather than an entire port but aside from cod Sony has definitely been pushing for a lot of that hybrid content whether it be re8, re4 remake or maybe even GTA down the line now that they have cracked down on that shitty modder(super maybe this one I wouldn't expect anything) Also I'm pretty sure ace combat 7 had a psvr1 mode but it really looked like shit so it's a matter of porting it over or maybe they'd just hold back on that dev time and fuse VR into the next installment instead
>>392572521

I only have the nurburgring dlc and I obviously bought everything from some big sale. I don't think these other DLCs have anything worth getting for normal VR drivers, but yeah AC is king. I just wish big maps didn't run like dogshit and the FFB was better. Like driving in AMS2 literally feels like real life. Driving in AC is just good enough.

>>392574562
Unfortunately, trying to have crossplay between VR and flatscreen on an FPS, in a competitive environment, sounds like a recipe for disaster. Both sides would have some pretty ridiculous advantages in certain ways that would be hard to balance around.
VR players could do something like easily blind fire around a corner without any real risk or peek corners with their head alone, plus there's potential to reload far faster than preset game animations. On the flip side, flatscreen players would probably have a far easier time snap ADSing for accurate shots or making out fine details and distant views, or aiming things like grenades.
The differences could be kind of fun in something casual or when fighting AI, but in sweaty PVP matches that's asking for a headache.
>>392575850
Realistically they'd have to keep the modes separate, which would divide the player base.
>>392575850
the only one is to make true vr cod or butterflied and that medal of honor disaster killed it
>>392576164
VR Battlefield is even less likely because on foot to vehicle transitions are so difficult to do well.
>>392575701
I wouldn't get either. Pro 2 is not good, and the quest is facebook shit. Just wait for new headsets to be announced or buy an index.
>>392576335
but there is way, bf and cod mobile versions
they are already android games, like what the fuck thats it, just make them in vr
>>392576003
And sadly why it'll probably never happen. On Call of Duty, I could easily see something like Spec Ops or Nazi Zombies working fine as crossplay, that's not competitive and is cooperative instead, so balancing is less a concern.
>>392576164
Medal of Honor was a fucking trainwreck. I'm worried for the "big budget" titles since it's been proven time and time again the devs are stuck several years in the past. Hopefully VR being more mature will somewhat help that.

>start playing a game, immediately get called to do something. every goddamn time.
>>392576634
It only takes one big dev to do it well but we seem to have to go through many iterations of trying to reinvent the wheel because none of them can look at existing indie games.
>>392576634
>Medal of Honor was a fucking trainwreck
From what i've seen, the actual problem was them selling this shit as a full price big game despite not being that good (and probably opti and bugs early on i guess)
When i look at some dudes playing it on youtube these days, it looks fun enough. But yeah, it definitely should not be sold as a big AAA VR experience. Retard take on their part
>Those combat animations we've seen a million times in VR games already
Undead Citadel demo is kinda fun, worth trying in my opinion. It's just a horde mode right now but the main menu has a campaign button greyed out. If they can put enough content into the campaign for the full release it will at least stand out from the other VR swordfighting games in that regard.
>>392577065

I'm not sure if foveated rendering is actually present in this footage.
>>392577065
I played it, it's not good. The basic gameplay is okay?ish. But the presentation and glitches are a mess. You got loads of cutscenes and walking for a minutes, then watching something, then you get frozen in place for another cutscene, and repeat for a while till gameplay.
>>392576940
Thats why i never played anything seriously before 21h. Fuck that noise, there's always someone coming with something.
I'm actually fucking happy my current job is 14h-22h. With NMS people have at least modded the VR mode on PC to be way better, along with it having tons of mods in general. It's lightyears ahead of any console version of the game as a result. Sony bucks won't change that.

The physics are pretty jank but that is the lowest tier of zombie. You need to kill them fast otherwise they can overwhelm you, they're more aggressive than the enemies in B&S.
>>392578536
>what lag? on cable? what the fuck
Not him but it's a compressed signal so there probably is some kind of latency, even wired. But it's so tiny you can't feel it, unless something is fucked up on your end ofc.
This dude is just trying to troll people
>>392577172
They've said that the campaign will be 10+ hours long. That and the physics based melee combat will definitely be enough for me to actually buy it.

I literally don't lose anything? I feel like I should try it but I have a G2...
>>392579051
They fixed the scopes, I think, but 171 fucking GB for that disaster is unforgivable.
I've been playing Radius (super infrequently) with an older build where the map hasn't been yet chopped to smaller pieces, mostly because I had explored it far enough to not want to start over when the update hit. So how does the new map system work? Is it actually better than just a huge open world? I have mixed feelings about the concept but haven't really bothered to test it out, at least before I complete the older build.
>>392578028
My problem is that I can't know when I'll get called to do something, working for the family business isn't fun.
>>392580161
>171 fucking GB
>Developer(s) Respawn Entertainment
yep thats their special!
>>392580731
They also fucked up Sniper Elite VR as well.
>>392580271
It works like the transition between the home base and the map, but there's 6 transitions instead of one. There's no travel time between maps, and the enemies and loot respawns every few days instead. No more sleeping bag, but there's two places to sleep on each map.
I wouldn't say it's 'better' to have the map like that, but they've updated the game more since breaking it up which has overall been an improvement. They cited the computing power required to edit the old map as being an obstacle to development.
>>392580271
there are multiple smaller levels with entry/exit points, much like in STALKER games. There are also shortcuts between main base (quests, shop, your personal space to prepare for missions) and different locations, so travel is a bit less bothersome thanks to that. Give it a shot, i might not be the best person to ask because i actually disliked original ItR, but for me this game just went from zero to hundred in one good update
>>392580731
It's amazing how quickly Respawn turned to shit after their EA buyout. I know that the same thing has happened to countless other studios EA has acquired, but coming from Titanfall 2 to playing the mess that is Medal of Honor A&B I was impressed.

DD2 had solid leaks since 2020. It was on leaked Nvidia slides along with other unannounced games which every single one turned out to be real. So it wasn't that far fetched that Capcom was doing something for the anniversary.
All we have with Deckard is the patents and the fact that we know they've been working on improving SteamVR specificially for new wireless hardware that has to do with those patents. I honestly don't think you'll get an official announcement until late next year. They're still too focused on the Deck at the moment and wouldn't want to take any thunder away.
