EU VTOL server up! Main branch, Server name EU VTOL, Pass 'hotdog'
So anyway, what the fuck are Valve doing atm, and where;s our new VR game/headset!?
>>390858957
Valve are doing what they always do, fuck around while Steam makes them tons of money.
>>390859154
then explain Alyx, that didn't make money either
>>390858957
>>390859154
Just 11 days left.

>>390859450
If the rumored Deckard doesn't actually get announced there I am going to enjoy seeing the cope.
>>390859450
till disappointment
>>390859967
But honestly, it's very likely they would announce something there. It's not even a sale, and this event was moved, we originally supposed to have survival fest at that time.
It would be kinda retarded if valve will not announce anything right now, but instead do it at some random date. But it's still valve so it is easily possible.
What's that one VR multiplayer you like with 0 player forever?
I've always wanted to play Hover Junkers and/or Battle Dome again, I've had these games for over 4 years and its dead in the sea of VR gaems
>>390860005
That's the thing about Valve. For better or worse, their very nature as a private company whos employees can work on and drop whatever they want makes them fucking impossible to predict. They'll work on something for a while, but if it doesn't meet their expectations it's scrapped. On the positive end, it means that they're not beholden to shareholders so they can work on things at their own pace and put out something which has potential to be truly game changing rather than just to satisfy some quarterly profit figure.
>>390859450
Have they ever done a game announcement or release together with a sale like this before?

>>390859450
I need a new headset, Index is old and dying, and I don't wanna buy another Index/cable.
>>390862230
Looking into it, they announced Alyx on the same day and hour as the start of an autumn sale. Close enough.
>want to try new ATF update

Alright motherfuckers it is that time of the week again! Going through this part of the summer months is as usual, a grind, summer conventions, dead and alive events and spurs of activity. It's an open canvas to work on things together with friends. If there is any theme to work on swimsuits are always an option, and easiest with the accessibility of the BOOTH era.
Fought a wicked cold so VR games were dead, did try out this old gmod blind tool game though. Prison architect guys made it and its like a dollar. https://store.steampowered.com/app/475190/Scanner_Sombre/

The pubs for Nightmare at least attract more competent players, but everything else is garbo. Quest really did a number on VR multiplayer games to the point where everything that vrg doesn't play is singleplayer for me.
>>390869352
Whats in the new update?
>>390871347
The worst part is all the goddamn KIDS who suck dick. There are some older players as well who still suck, but it's overwhelmingly children. Them and retards who turn the Q2 volume up to max and so their game audio starts causing a feedback loop of their game audio in the mic. It makes for an awful experience.

>>390873509
My favorite is when you have relatives shouting at them being very clear due to the lack of audio insulation on the Quest. I was in a game where one kid had both parents taking turns yelling at him to clean his room before he finally left. It was extra annoying as this was horde mode where he wasn't replaced by a bot.
>>390875803
Horee shit. 4 prototypes a run does sound like fun.
>>390876124
>Massive increase in snowbreed spawn rates
Damn that sounds fun except the part where I go bankrupt from those increased item prices.
Hey lads, just posting to see if there's anyone organizing any group Pavlov gamesI'd love to get a game of zombies going later
I've set one last event for DR2 club. Australia, Group B.
We got through pretty much all of the content during various events, I feel like there isn't much cool stuff I could set at this point. Big thanks to all of the regulars, I really appreciate your presence in there, and thanks to everyone who participated in general. It was fun.

What are the must have Fallout 4 VR mods? I already have FRIK.
Guys I want an RTS/Build them up game for VR, what are my options?
Preferred in the Red Alert or Warcraft style
>>390897173
the only mediocre option is Townsmen VR. Brass Tactics was okay too (actually designed by some AoE devs), but it's a filthy oculus exclusive with no working cracks, and only does combat micro, not base building.
>>390898889
>filthy oculus exclusive
Quest 2 or Rift, though?
>>390894408
I also want to know this. And I want to know if the sex mods work yet.
>>390894408
Kabuto VR is real fun to use. You get an immersive in-helmet display while wearing power armor with dials for your health, rads, etc. Immersive Chems is also good. You can pull chems out of a pouch and immersively inject yourself with stimpaks like in Alyx, or quaff ingested meds. I don't even think that Skyrim VR has equivalents for those two. Also, get See Through Scopes and Better Scopes VR for proper VR scopes that you can look down. Now that FRIK lets you two hand weapons sniping guys with the scope mods is quite fun.
>>390901141
rift so you can technically run it through revive, but I ain't giving the zucc money for it.

Pavlov?
Dead Effect 2 is kinda good in a B-movie way
Heard some of the other discount titles like Overkill and Raw Data weren't bad
Another anon described Immortal Legacy: Jade Cipher as a decent RE clone although it's shake-to-reload
Arizona Sunshine is dated but okay
Pirate Superhot VR as the devs cucked out on a certain interactive segment
>>390902441
also anons above are discussing FO4VR and the modding scene, it could potentially be a good FPS/RPG with the right updates
>>390902441
Dead Effect 2 is surprisingly solid for not just being a port of a flat game, but also a port of a mobile game.
Just got a quest 2 and a few SteamVR games. Is there a way to view videos on it without Zuckerberg knowing? Would I be ok putting them in the media library or should I open them on my computer and watch with air link?
>>390917250
Sorry, anon. Zucc is watching you masturbate.
So Fallout 4 now has FRIK, which is the FO4 equivalent of VRIK. But, the important question, does FO4 have manual/gesture reloading? Or is it just a button-press?
how did capcom manage to make such a good VR port of a game like resident evil 4? and whatever happened to the san andreas port they announced and then never mentioned again?

>>390971909
I didn't know it had its own general

its fucking over, what the fuck zuck
>>390983526
I'm glad that I finished all Oculus exclusives that I cared about earlier this year. Now I can let them shitcan my Oculus account with a peaceful mind.
>>390985725
>How many billions is zuckerberg gonna lose when the metaverse inevitable fails?
It's not going to fail. People are narcissistic degenerates so the concept of the "metaverse" is totally going to be a viable marketplace for people to sell whatever fucking shit they're trying to sell. If you can wrap your head around it, facebook seems quaint and stupid now, but remember back to 2009/2010 when it was literally pushed as the hottest shit. People and corporations were tripping over themselves to establish a presence.
The concept of the "metaverse" being some shitty vrchat knockoff might seem laughable today, but it will evolve into something more tangible given another 10+ years. At the moment we're probably in the early-mid 90's internet in terms of progression with this stuff, but I see it all culminating with AR and web3 (unfortunately).
Yes, it sounds like a fucking nightmare. But check the calendar. We are nearly 23 years into the 21st century. Things are already dystopian.
>>390985725
The moment it is obvious it'll flop is the moment meta headsets won't be able to connect to vrchat or vrchat will be bought by meta and killed. Alternatives will face the same fate.
>hurr durr that won't happen
It won't even be the third time they've done it.
>>390989354
I'm doubtful that we're even that close. The early 90s internet already had very primitive online shopping, messageboards, online games and websites with simple search tools that would later evolve into online encyclopedias or search engines. The potential for the internet was easy to understand because you could already get a taste of it.
Where is the metaverse right now? It's just hanging out in the VR equivalent of a social MMO. The sense of presence and expanded interactions are new but I'm struggling to see where else we're supposed to be glimpsing the future after such a disruptive technology.
>>390993764
>moment meta headsets won't be able to connect to vrchat
Good, very good.
I currently have a Rift and wanted to upgrade to a Quest 2, since I've had it with moving my PC from one room to the other and back.
How seamlessly can I continue to use my Steam VR library? What would I need (software wise) to use my Steam VR games wireless? Virtual Desktop from the Zuckstore or does Air Link work/is good enough?
>>390993764
Reminder that Bigscreen beta had Facebook directly tell them "Join us or we'll build the same thing and crush you". Those fuckers are evil.
>>390994096
Air Link was ass for me, but it depends, you can try it and buy Virtual Desktop if it's shit for you. For wireless play, you need a decent wifi router, connected on 5ghz and stay in the same room.
>>390994609
My FRITZ!Repeater 3000 (1gig wired) is located right in the room I would play, so I hope that works. Pretty much no other devices use the 5GHz band.
>>390901272
AFF doesn't work. It's not like Sexlab for Skyrim VR which got a VR patch to make it play well with VRIK.
>>390996132
>fritz! repeater
>strong signal anywhere, even in your basement
>>390994096
>I currently have a Rift and wanted to upgrade to a Quest 2
Ehhhhh, I 'd say wait. The quest 2 is already 2 years old and there will most likely be something soon. Cambria is a headset for normies, but we know that they have Quest 3 and Quest Pro skus that are most likely going to be released next year.
It's also likely that Valve will reveal something in a fortnight. Wireless VR is good once you get through the hassle of troubleshooting to a perfect setup, but it's not quite there yet and I wouldn't say a Quest 2 is a worthy improvement over a Rift S for this fact. Route the cable round the back of the headset, tuck it down your shit and save your money.
>>390994096
Bro, the Rift is over 6 years old. I would say the Quest 2 definitely is worth the upgrade.
>>390999587
>have Quest 3 and Quest Pro skus that are most likely going to be released next year
Meta Connect 2023 is in Sep./Oct., so that's over a year before Quest 3 release... at least going by rumors. And I really don't want to continue to disconnect everything from my PC, move it to the other room, connect everything, play 2 hours and rinse and repeat...
>>391001854
I guess, but I'm just wondering about QoL in regards to continuing to use my Steam VR games, I ain't gonna rebuy everything on the Zuckstore.
>>391002097
If you connect it to your pc either wired or wireless doesn't matter you can just start up steam vr and play all your games like before
>>390999587
>Cambria
>for normies
Pretty sure it's an enterprise headset
>>390999196
heh
>>391002364
Oh ok, I was under the impression that it required certain tinkering to get wireless working with Steam games.

If you've got the cash, then whatever. Just remember that if you think dealing with a singular wire is more of a hassle than troubleshooting all the variables the comes with wireless VR you are in for a surprise.

Is there nowhere to get beatsaber songs designed at normal difficulty?

any tips for getting setup wirelessly?
i have a Quest and IDK what the problem is but i'm going to assume it's the cable, it passes the test in the oculus program just fine but when i fire up the link it lags like mad and i get shitty FPS. it used to work perfectly so maybe i just ran over the cable with my chair one too many times.
trying to decide whether to order another or try to get a replacement, or just buy a nice router and set up airlink. are there any cons to airlink assuming it's properly configured?
>>391014882
>any tips for getting setup wirelessly?
Everyone tries to shill Wifi 6 router but a good AC router will do the job. You need to put the Quest on the 5ghz band and isolate it so that everything else runs on 2.4ghz. Router in the same room preferably. There's a load more optimization you can do on the pc side as well.
> it passes the test in the oculus program just fine but when i fire up the link it lags like mad and i get shitty FPS. it used to work perfectly so maybe i just ran over the cable with my chair one too many times.
Are you running windows 11? See pic related and turn off the top option. It literally causes what you've described. I'm not sure if this setting is in 10 as well but it probably has the same effects.
You should also be using Oculus Tray Tool at all times to adjust the link bandwidth settings as this can cause stuttering issues.
>>390956140

windows 10, i googled it and don't have that option in the screen it should be in. i'm running an old version of 10 though because my SSD is formatted in a format that isn't supported by later versions and i could never be bothered to reformat it and reinstall windows and all that.
i'll install tray tools and see what i can do with that, thanks for the help

Also no.
I kind of want to buy into FBT to play Dragon Fist: VR Kung Fu. I played the demo, and kept instinctively bringing my knee up to block.
>>391034296
It doesn't look good. I'll give it a torrent when they fix some of the bugs. I remember that the Kickstarter was asking for $40, so it's nice that they dropped the price slightly down to $35 at least. With the repeated stuff it still doesn't sound like a good enough value at that price.
>>391034296

What's the QRD of the differences between the Quest Minecraft port and Vivecraft? I'm wondering which will give the more immersive experience at this moment.

There's not much of a difference, it's missing the physical actions (which most find tiring after a short time) but it runs on Fabric so you can have the crazy good Sodium performance mod.
Is the Miku VR game very gay? Asking for a fren. The fren is going probably to be seen playing it.

You mean the HDMI-Cable, USB-Cable and a further 3 USB-Cables for the trackers? I would need to get them through 1 brick wall and 1 wooden wall + at least 10-15m active (repeater) extension cords.
The Quest 2 would at least allow for wireless (as stated) or just 1 proper active USB Extension.

Anyone played the Blade & Sorcery beta update? Supposedly has improved enemy behavior, and the dumb enemies were always the worst part of the games for me.

>>391091109
Any mods that rely on SKSE will need separate versions for VR, as VR has a separate script extender.
For USSEP, I think you'll need to use an older version. Try looking in the OP of /tesg/. I recommend against Cutting Room Floor, as much of it isn't actually cut content and is instead the author's fanfiction.
Honestly, I'd look and see if there are any "just the essentials" lists for Skyrim VR on wabbajack to build on.

The drama surrounding Arthmoor can (And has several times on /v/ and /tesg/) fill an entire thread. Even Reddit banned him as he became that unbearable. Is Obduction any good in VR? I've been playing through all the Myst games recently and I'll be playing this soon.
>>391104170
i tried it it wasn't very good, everything felt clunky and awkward.
>>391104170
My biggest problem with Obduction was honestly the walking speed. There's a fair bit of backtracking for puzzles early on but they're incredibly fucking boring because you move at a snail's pace. God forbid you move to the wrong lever for a puzzle and have to spend 5 minutes walking back to the last one.
The environments are pretty neat but I just couldn't be bothered to play more than a few hours.
>>391091613
I just use ffmpeg raw, but if you want to set it in anything that uses ffmpeg, then you have to change codec from libvpx to libvpx-vp9 somewhere, i'm sure it's an option

Skyrim VR is fun. Nothing like man handling a loli while she's sucking you off upside down between adventures. VAM is probably the best game over all for just porn.

How hard is it to setup Skyrim VR with all sorts of mods on top? Is there some kind of fool-proof method?

Doesn't that also involve quite the process to get workin? I think it's supposed to be some kind of addon to Virt-A-Mate which I heard is notoriously hard to get into
Time for public Pavlov...
>>391119289
Both are elaborate to get into. With Skyrim even if you use a premade modlist you'll need to jump through hoops to get past political correctness filters. https://www.loverslab.com/topic/132489-skyrim-sexlab-and-vr/ explains what you need. VAM can be a bit smoother if you pirate premade stuff. The general on /aco/ and f95zone are good resources for it.

>Doesn't that also involve quite the process to get workin? I think it's supposed to be some kind of addon to Virt-A-Mate which I heard is notoriously hard to get into
The best way to get started with VaM is to use the vamX addon that gives you a simplified interface for most common actions and customizations. It comes with its own tutorials as well. After getting used to vamX you can start delving into the actual game menus.
Get it on f95 because it's paywalled, then you just copy and paste it over the official game installation.
>>391115878
I like Koikatsu mostly because I've already got a shitload of OC cards, custom scenes I made for use in VR and can load MMD dances onto my own characters. The other Illusion games are pretty much the same, I just prefer the anime art style.
Fallen Doll and similar unmoddable animation viewers are good for one or two faps but that's all, barely worth the download unless you're desperate.
The Japs have a few like the above but for niche fetishes or with some added interactions, おなごたっちVR is worth a try if you want to headpat a girl and slap her butt.
VaM is the best when it comes to mixing porn and interacting the models but making anything yourself is a lot of work so be prepared to trawl through other people's garbage tastes. Lots of paywalled mods/scenes and the art style often has an uncanny feel for me.
Skyrim sex animations are already clunky on flat, in VR it's arguably worse but the appeal is more in the context of the sex than the quality of the models or animations. Getting a blowjob as a quest reward is hotter than just randomly loading a blowjob animation. It does lose some appeal if game mode and coom mode are mutually exclusive for you. The same rules for modding also apply to sex mods, don't go overboard adding stuff you download without testing your core mods first.

do i need something for KKVR? i tried the stuff in the repack but i couldn't get the girl to do anything other than move her around

>oh nice I can use vp9 finally after like 10 years of it being available
>change one letter in the make_webm.bat I use

>>391126857
If you use the repack you have 3 options
>The KoikatuVR exe which is basically free-H in VR
>The KoikatuStudioVRPlugin in the optional mod folder which enables VR in the charastudio
>The KK_MainGameVR mod in the optional mod folder which I've never tried, sounds buggy and has it's own controls.
The controls can be awkward. You want to find the button on one controller that cycles through the modes until trigger or something opens the panel/screen. Then use the other controller as a pointer to select the animations, change clothes and control the pace just like you would in the flat version.

Does anyone know how to turn the AT guns in Pavlov? There's wheels do absolutely nothing no matter what I try, but I see other players doing it some how. I know how to load and fire it.
The Polium One is getting a VR headset made for it. Web 3.0 is a perfect fit for VR which makes sense.

I like COM3D2 as far as gameplay goes. It's perhaps not as mechanically involved as Skyrim (Which to be fair has more to it than most VR games period), but COM3D2 has a big campaign with a ton of events and the like. Its VR implementation is much better than something like Koikatsu's too. The main downside is that you need 200+ gigabytes free for it if you want all of the content. The guys on ULMF make it easy enough to setup these days at least.
>>391145747
I tried COM3D2 and had the same issue with it that I had with Koikatsu, in that the actual game wasn't in VR, and you could only do the h-animations. Maybe I downloaded the wrong repack or something.
Are there any videos on tips for playing Blade & Sorcery? I'm technically winning just by flailing like a retard, but I feel like I'd have more fun if I learned some technique.

Walking speed was a fucking pain but it was a nice puzzle game. As a boomer I have to admit all VR Myst has going for it was visuals and nostalgia. Obduction is an objectively better puzzle game. In Myst the puzzles were kind of shit and the game was really short. Back in the day it was really just about all the prerendered eye candy which at the time looked stunning.
>>390922121
so im a dumbass and didnt realize the shotgun in this is only half as effective if you only fire it with one hand and in order to get its full effect you must actually use it like a shotgun very very nice touch that most VR games dont even bother with

Why you reencoding twice, are you retarded?
What is this fucking line?
>ffmpeg -i 4ch.webm -c:v vp9 -b:v 1600k -an ready.webm
And it wouldn't even work because "-c:v vp9" is not a valid command.
If you want to strip the autid just do "-vcodec copy -an", you monkey. By reencoding twice you are just multiplying the artifacts.
Also, "-speed 1" in first pass is useless, it's changed from vp8. Second pass should have "-speed 0" too.
"-time-column 6" decreases the quality.
And you don't even have "-row-mt 1". Oh my god. The more I look at your shit the worse it becomes.

>>391166447
Here's a VP9 sample. Working with a 3mb file limit is always tough, but it's easier to set a file size limit and it just crunches the bitrate down. Also have scripts for cropping so you get basic functions of a NLE without the bloat of having to wait for one to start and it being a memory hog.
I just find it really quick to scrub through game footage this way and bang out webms if I want to.
>>391164727

Mod Skyrim VR, quality VR ludo. It's a real game with lots of content even if you don't care for the vanilla quests. It works very well in VR thanks to modders, You can run it with an absolutely terrible PC too. I played it initially with a GTX 970, and with something like pixelrim you can probably run it on even worse. It and Assetto are my staples at this point as they have endless content, so I'm not running out of VR to play when I'm done with whatever 4 hour FOTM VR game just came out.

>>391171154
is asgards wrath really good? i as looking at it forever but always been hesitant to buy
>>391171310
I pirated it with no regrets. It's good puzzling and adventuring. I'm not 100% certain if the combat could be called good as the weapons are weightless and it's based around breaking enemy armor before you can actually waggle them to death, but you can at least go about it several ways. The first character you get is pretty basic, but the others have more esoteric abilities which really makes the game fun. The graphics are really good too. It's 130gb, ration your SSD space carefully.
>>391169703
Get Alyx if you haven't already. Its campaign alongside the boatload if quality modded campaigns will keep you busy. If only H3VR or Boneworks had similar level building tools and assets.

GORN
Arizona Sunshine
Robo Recall
Echo VR
PAVLOV
Boneworks
Saints and Sinners
REZ infinite
Thumper
Resident evil 7
Until Dawn: Rush of blood
Batman Arkham VR
Skyrim VR
Bloodtrail VR
Killing Floor Incursion
Drop Dead
H3VR

I know no one cares, I’m just kinda archiving what I’ve played for myself hehe
Right now, I’m playing:
Organ Quarter
Skyrim VR
Green Hell VR, but the framerates too inconsistent and I’m getting ill playing it with the stuttering
Half Life Alyx is pirated, I just need to unpack it. I’ve played Half Life 1 and 2, but never beaten it. Do I need to do that before Alyx?
Anyone have any tips for Green Hell? I pass the system requirements, I really want a cool survival game

suggesting Into the Radius, extremely comfy post-apocalyptic singleplayer
no crafting but definitely survival aspects, especially if you play with the Scavenger mod that disables the shop
>>391172837
You should play Half Life 1, 2, and 2's episodes before to appreciate the story. The context of the ending especially won't make sense without having played episode 2. You don't need to play Blue Shift or Opposing Force which might not even be canon anyways.
>>391173109
Alrighty, I’ll sink some time into it tomorrow
I recently “upgraded” from a 1060 to a RX 6600, and some games run maxed out perfectly, like H3VR, Skyrim, blade and sorcery kinda, all run great
But then games like Bloodtrail, Green Hell, The forest, run like dogshit
Is it a case of optimization, or is my card just old and only ok on old games?
>>391173789
The 6600 is weaker and AMD cards don't work as well as Nvidia in VR anyways. Green Hell is terribly optimized for a VR game however.

Cmon, 6600 is weaker than a 1060 3GB? No way, I spent 350$ on the 6600!

Holy fucking shit no, userbenchmark is actually one of the worst websites on the whole internet you can use for ANY kind of comparison and benchmarks. They are insanely biased against anything AMD and literally think there is some grand conspiracy to bash Intel and promote AMD's stuff, read their page on the 11900k. Use literally anywhere else. They have changed their metrics by arbitrary means purely to make AMD end up lower scoring by their bullshit nonsense.

>how have I been playing VR since 2016 and never heard of asgards wrath
easy, occulus exclusive, it's not the only one in the store, btw
>>391181106
There's basically no reason to use any gun other than the AK as soon as you learn how to hit heads. Literally every other gun is more fun but getting cucked by a helmet is always pain. Especially when you remember an AK would have gone through it. I still stand by the pump shotgun being my favourite weaponbehind the frag grenade, naturally.More games need shotguns that actually deal damage beyond 2 meters and don't have a cone of spread that makes a perfect person sized hole between the pellets beyond 5. Granted all the other shotguns in pavlov has massive spread like that but really only the sawn-off corner blaster can be excused for that.

There's only one answer to this
So I dipped into PCVR by buying a cheap used Rift. After playing Arizona Sunshine, Alyx and some Wingman... I of course want to upgrade. I thought about the Quest 2 since its only like 350€ + 50€ for some Elite Strap. Now someone mentioned the HP Reverb G2 V2 to me that probably is going to be like ~450-500€ + some 5m extension cord (can't directly play roomscale in front of my PC).
I heard the picture quality is much better with the HP, but that even the V2 suffers from not so good tracking. Is it really that bad? I'm using 3 Sensors with my Rift and it basically tracks everything perfectly...
Quest 2 exclusive games... are they really worth it? Heard that there are ways to play them on non Quest devices and I'm more interested in PCVR anyway.
Anything else that I should consider in the question Quest 2 vs. RG2V2?
>>391195614
The Reverb suffers from tracking issues the same way the Quest does, in that it doesn't use lighthouses and does tracking exclusively through cameras on the HMD. You won't have to worry about that if you continue to use the Rift controllers on the Reverb.

the premise is cute and the demo was fairly enjoyable but as mentioned elsewhere ITT it's painfully obvious that the dev has zero experience with VR and what makes games /comfy/ there
compare to ITR which I sperge out in praise of regularly, the simplest interactions there feel satisfying
I somehow enjoy the action of cleaning my guns and equipment, sorting my gear

>rooms get bigger and have more and higher tier enemies in them each time
>keeps going until you die.
Then probably a mode where weapon drops are truly random, increasingly better, a planned set like gun game, or the opposite where weapons get worse each crate.

what are your guys dream vr games?
mine is a dbz game where you can fly and punch things and generally watch the plot progress
>playing Into the Radius for the first time since the new map update
>stalkan the first area goes pretty well, handling everything with just a pistol
>buy an SKS and decide to head up to Bolotky
>barely manage to kill 3 sliders attacking right after eachother
>run out of ammo fighting armored fragments and run home
Is AP ammo that much of an improvement or do I just need to bring more ammo in general?
>>391262023
megaton rainfall is supposed to be a superhero vr game, probably the closest thing
i'd love to try it, but the only mirror for it on rarbg is from half a decade ago and i'd want to play the latest version

>>391265898
Ok, good to know. I kinda forgot slugs existed, I'll have to try them out.
>>391265491
AP is noticibly better. I usually keep one mag of it on my pouch, or more if I know I'm going to be fighting a lot of armored enemies
Has anyone ever had a thing where FSR actually CAUSES framerate issues?
I'm running a RX 6600, and a 5600x CPU and I STILL cant run Into The Radius at 72hz on medium settings
Should I do a full clean boot of windows, and ONLY have Oculus, Steam and my VR games? I dont know why I would still have performance issues
>>391270498
FSR can make frames worse if you are upscaling too little. Its sharpening shader does cause overhead after all. So if you are using FSR at native resolution (no upscaling) and just using the sharpener you will get less frames than with no FSR.
>>391270620
Hmmm, alright, I'll just disable it alltogether, since I am a smooth brain quest fag and no understand. Thank you, anon, I had no idea.

>Bolotky
>3 sliders
>armored fragments
you must have taken an Operation Cleanup because those are end game enemies, you won't see them in Bolotky normally
>Is AP ammo that much of an improvement or do I just need to bring more ammo in general?
both of the enemy types above are very tanky even with AP, 7.62x39 FMJ has 70% AP chance natively so it should be good for most of Bolotky unless you take a Cleanup
you will definitely want AP afterwards, it is 90% penetration chance iirc
for pistols go with +P though
>>391265491
Also, when/where do you anons find yourself using grenades? I could see them being useful in the factory but I'm not sure how effective they actually are
>>391270827
Turn off auto resolution. It's going to be hard to troubleshoot your performance issues if they headset is changing the resolution without your input.

>>391279324
they've never been hugely useful for me except for in the Factory where I was able to use them in a hallway full of targets
practice throwing them first, shot-put style seems most effective
>>391279497
that would do it too, but sliders in Bolotky still seems a little unfair, they soak up a lot of damage unless you headshot them or use +P
at least they made the SKS a level 2 weapon now, it was immediately outclassed before by the other rifles

>>391279324
I'm on vive so throwing grenades is really hard. I've had a lot more success throwing underarm though. Clicking those grip buttons to throw is just horrible. Grenades don't have a damage sphere either, it's just the fragments that fly off that cause damage. Because of that you should be careful not to use them in a room with lots of clutter where they might land under a table or in a box or something that will completely block all the fragments. The grenade launcher is good fun just be careful about using it close range. It's great to start a fight if you have the drop on a group of enemies.

Does anyone think Valve will actually announce new hardware at the coming VR event they're hyping?
>>391301329
No. They aren't even past fulfilling the first hour of Steam Deck orders. I am sure that they are designing something, but given that the manufacturers they work with have zero capacity for likely the rest of the year I am skeptical. Maybe 2023's VR Fest will have something.
I recommend Organ Quarter to anyone who likes survival horror
Feels like Silent hill 2 if it was made by a smaller team, and less budget, and of course the writing isn’t as good. Still, a fun, spooky game that has simply fantastic music nearly on par with Silent Hills music

>>391279498
It's basically a VR dungeon crawler FPS, not really a JRPG. You need a bit more than a generic isekai-like generic fantasy setting to be a JRPG. The voice acting is nice. I wish there was more than one drab, monotonous environment that was stripped right out of BoTW shrines. There's no option for smooth turning that I've seen. I like the spell parries and blink. The regular combat is very obviously FPS controls where you replace a gun with a gauntlet that shoots fireballs, you even have to reload it. The poster ads seem to just be in that one back alley location, and cycle between different virtual market type advertisements, including VTubers and booth models for VRChat, but it doesn't really get in the way. Odd decision. Animations and interaction is few and far between. The game's Cortana stand-in is cute.
I don't know if it's because I had still had OVR advanced settings on, but the collision in-dungeon was very, very off. I had a hard time going up stairs without phasing through them, or not falling into bottomless pits. The bottomless pits seem to have no kill plane, so you just fall forever until you restart. Since nobody else has reported these problems it's likely on my side somehow.
Very amateur, not worth $35. If you like weeb stuff it's okay, but it's another case of really new game developers doing VR projects.
>>391387852
Thank goodness the game was cracked day one. VR devs are even more audacious than normal indie devs when it comes to how much they charge for their games.
Got the quest 2 a couple of days ago. Honestly surprised how good the motion tracker is and how good they quality is. Just have to get used to getting so warm and uncomfortable whilst wearing it. Only barely tried out boneworks and VR chat. The latter having a diverse group of people that's for sure. Looking forward to trying other things out. Using my desktop virtually was very neat.

That game seems pretty promising. The devs are actually trying at least. It wont have a standalone release since it would be hard to balance for example and they are going for the competetive scene. Apparently you can request access to open beta thorough July through Steam.

Tried SURV1V3 recently and it's pretty cool with friends. With there were some more good PVE co-op experiences with either a little story or greater scale to them and not totally lacking structure. they put minimal effort into anything below expert because anyone who puts minimal effort into the game can play expert levels and there's only so many ways you can arrange 2 blocks at a time for it to be any kind of interesting
whereas expert levels allow you much more creative freedom to experiment with new ideas and require unique pathing for each section
at its root honestly it's less 'haha fuck casuals' and more 'this is boring to make and boring to play, so why bother?'

>>391534002
E-Sports fags. PCVR faction S&D weapons were delayed so it wouldn't happen in the middle of their season, Balance patches don't happen for the same reason, S&D won't get the new prone IK and WW2 S&D was dropped because it would 'fragment' the S&D playerbase.
Revives would be shit if the VRmassive server is anything to go by but I don't think purchasable bandages would really be as disruptive.

>>391556843
Unplayable without mods. Mediocre even with mods unless you get enough satisfaction from wandering out shooting things.
>>391539129
Just play the flat version if you can't handle the motion sickness. The game isn't made for VR after all. You can always try Black Mesa which is the fanmade remake if you want nicer graphics.
>>391557191
regular game has supported the Oculus runtime for ages, idk why they would have removed it from 2.3

Rockstar have no case, but I couldn't give a fuck if this makes it harder for him. His "mods" are glorified VorpX wrappers.

Alyx was built to be baby's first vr game with all comfort and no motion sickness. Extremely slow paced.

Anon are you still around?
A while ago I tried to use Gammon for Lone Echo but either the game wouldn't launch or there was some weirdness with my controllers. Any ideas?
And do the SteamVR input bindings work automatically?
My setup: Game -> Gammon -> SteamVR -> ALVR -> Quest 2
>>391569680
I have no idea how people tolerate this hack's mods. The novelty of "wow, I'm in the game with 3D depth!" wears off incredibly fast because of his hatred of motion controls and just how much you have to turn down all the settings to get a decent frame rate on most things. It's kind of fun to walk around with the gamepad with for a short bit, but to actually play the game that way sucks.

I cant wait for this faggot to be sued into the gutter. A grifter and a content kidnapper, let there be a decade of law suits against him

I think they'd make it would be an absolute abomination with CS mechanics ported directly into VR: no inventory, gun stuck to hand, hold knife to run, movement inaccuracy, hold a button to plant/defuse, barely any VR interactivity, etc. I doubt they'll ever do anything in VR with counter strike because they won't be willing to change those characteristic 20 year old mechanics and will come to the conclusion that VR is inherently an unsuitable platform for CS. They won't buy Pavlov either because it is recognisable as a CS clone while also deviating too much from it.
>>391579759
Why you are talking in hypotheticals? This is exactly what happened.
>>391571286
The VRmassive servers spawn those and other items directly on the player somehow.

Are there any decent mods for non-VR games that actually give you a good VR experience? I played Doom in VR and that worked really well. And Skyrim VR is at least a mediocre port.

Play Outer Wilds VR mod. Risk of Rain 2 VR mod is also good, and deep rock galactic has one but it needs more work
>>391628026
I see. Kinda sad that we wont be seeing any decent executions by other modders now that take 2 set the record straight. A part of me wants to believe that they're planning some sort of hybrid patch for V especially now that sony is bribing studios into making vr versions of their games for psvr2, but in truth its probably just a tactic to steer hype towards san andreas on the quest.
Help. The airlink option on my Quest 2 just straight up dissapeared. I was using it yesterday, I boot up the headset today it's it's just not there. It's completely missing from the experimental settings and the PC app too.

I really hate exclusives on fucking hardware like this. PSVR has garbage tracking, and Quest 2 doesn't support my IPD range (no point buying a Quest 1 when devs are not supporting it anymore). Anyone else got shit they were looking forward to that never hit their target platform? It sucked that Capcom updated RE7 for newer platforms + PC and never brought its VR support over either.
Just played Omega Pilot for the first time. Thought I had pretty much established my VR legs at this point and just wasn’t ever going to suffer with any form of VR motion sickness

Verdant Citadel is one of my favorite single level wads. It is open ended as you can go whatever direction you want to get the skulls needed to visit the last area. It's extremely aesthetic with the level being a large multi layered moss covered castle. It's a Cacoaward winner so you know that it's worthwhile.
I remember there being a holstering mod. There are multiple weapon wheel mods too. But I have never seen a mod for reloading, partially due to the fact that you don't reload in Doom. Ironically Quake VR added reloading with its last update.

Any game that has the option to toggle teleport vs smooth locomotion. HL Alyx comes to mind. Play with teleport for a bit, then when you're feeling almost done, turn on smooth for a few minutes before stopping.

Jesus Metal of Honor: Above and Beyond is such a crashing piece of shit. Spent an hour trying to get it to work and it would crash every 5-10 minutes without failure, often sooner. And the game itself is terrible even when it works.
Why is almost every bigger company such ass at putting out VR games or ports? This, Sniper Elite, Hitman, Skyrim and FO4 are only saved by extensive modding. I don't expect everyone to be Valve with Alyx, but how are they so bad at this? It's not even samey or dull but pretty like most flatscreen AAA games are, it's actively bad.

Just like with ethots with simps, retards who pay for that low effort shit is the real problem.
He's just a typical patreon grifter. He gives people want they want (VR mods for popular flat games) but the problem is that he does the bare minimum application
>get the game rendering in stereoscopic 3D
>make sure the menus are navigable/aren't fucked
That's it. Only problem is that there's companies like VorpX that have been doing this exact thing for ten years. He refuses to tackle any kind of motion control application in any of his mods, or roomscale. So it's glorified 2012/2013 era VR experiences of sit down in this chair, marvel at the 3D effect and use an xbox controller while your eyes bleed because the game runs like fucking shit because he barely worked on it to move onto the next game/fanbase to milk.
It's just another case of people were doing something for years/decades and some cunt comes along and does the same thing but presents in it just the right way to hit it big with zoomers. Couldn't imaging how much of an uncomfortable eye raping experience his Cyberpunk mod would be. Like most cunts on patreon he doesn't deserve that much money for what he puts out but paypigs are gonna paypig.

Remember the 3D game controls problem of the 90s? The V2 of the G2 is a lot better than the V1 and can track further backwards than the Quest 2. That said it's mainly the vertical tracking volume which is worse. That and the use of visible lights over IR which makes the lighting conditions of your playspace more important. I use the Index controllers with the G2 anyways.

There is one VR youtuber that is decent, talks about FPS games and tech and stuff... Then he had a video where he showed footage of himself on VR chat LARPing as a 14 year old anime girl like it was a normal thing.

Can someone explain VAM to me, I get most of it but how do you actually find decent models and scenes? Isn't it a pain having to sort through a sea of shit to find anything good?
>>391873482
VAM stands for Visit Activity Matrix. Basically an excel file containing all the subject visits and visit activities created for a clinical trial management system for the specific protocol. Master and country specific SVT (Subject Visit Template) are split in the VAM of course. Any necessary ongoing updates related to the clinical trial study design are also implemented into the CTMS SVT through the VAM first.
Not sure what this has to do with virtual reality video gaming though.

There are more, stuff like Vertigo 2, Saints & Sinners Chapter 2 and a bunch of smaller games that I'm more cautious about.
>>391885280
Yeah I know.
>>391650832
Everything except for Pavlov has crossplay at this point so that doesn't really help.
>>391902167
Even though the PC Population of Pavlov isn't that big honestly, I'm glad for that so the dumb quest kiddies who have a PC capable of it will always be a tiny minority.
Boneworks looks kind of neat. Do you need a lot of space to walk around? I've got enough space to flail around and stuff. Gets the job done in H3VR. Is it a twin stick style movement?
>>391908883
>Is it a twin stick style movement?
yes, you need very little room to play. you could even play seated. But i like to play standing when possible.
>>391909701
>But i like to play standing when possible.
Yeah, me too. I just don't have a ton of space. Enough to take a step in any direction but that's about it.
Thanks for the info, I'll look into it.
>>391908883
Every modern game follows similar control scheme, so no, you don't really need a whole lot of space. If you can play any other motion controlled VR game while standing, you'll be fine in boneworks.
One thing to mention is that uh, every now and then you might need to almost-jump, go from squat to standing real fast. You can jump way higher in boneworks when you combine ingame jump button with real body movement. That's the only somewhat space-aware bit of this game that is different from the other titles.
>>391910059
Sweet, I can swing that.
Where can I grab some good 3d pron? It's proving surprisingly tough to find. So far I found some dude called AnielSzal, but it's not much.
>>391912578

>>391914610
Too true. I've already played all VR games with actual campaigns at this point (Not hard to do). I just play Skyrim VR half for the various quest mods I haven't tried (The forgotten city is great), and half for cunny mods.
>left stick drifts backwards
>>391916137
>right stick drifts forwards
>>391916137
It's always backwards.
>>391915652
can i install the forgotten city mid save, or any quest mod for that matter?
>>391916435
Yeah. Most of them are their own worldspaces. The only exception is stuff like Maids II which has a ton of scripts that you need a new save for, and Enderal of course which is effectively its own game. Make sure to generate new lods via Dyndolod if you use that. I've been playing Beyond Reach lately which has some cool setpieces but is a bit too edgy at parts.
>>391915652
is Skyrim VR tough to get up and running? I'm considering a VR playthrough, but the prospect of modding it for the thousandth time isn't too enticing
>>391919875
If you have a Nexus Premium subscription you can always get the FUS Wabbajack list. None of these pre-made modlists come with cunny mods or the cool quest mods, but if you just want to play the vanilla content you should be fine.
What are sone good Co-OP VR games that are not Demeo, Battlezone or Arizona Sunshine (any genre)
I'm trying to find some more games like these for my VR group, preferred under £15 price (after Steam discounts) if possible
>>391916979
do you know if Beyond Skyrim Bruma is any good?
>>391922127
Bruma is pretty high quality. The drama surrounding the Beyond Skyrim team aside it's probably the most polished of the big landmass mods. It is again explicitly made so it won't break anything if added mid playthrough. I like that it has well modeled versions of monsters from Oblivion which helps expand the enemy variety of the game. Other mods that add goblins are kind of shoddy in comparison. You will want some compatibility patches for a few things though. With the Ordinator perk mod for instance you need a patch to fix an issue the merchant perk has with it.
>>391920932
If you're talking PVE experiences, on the FPS end Payday 2 is an amazing co-op VR experience, just be sure to download the VR fixes to make it more proper and immersive. The base game regularly goes on sale for 1 dollar and it has loads of DLC you can get for more content if you like it. Pavlov has the numerous Call of Duty zombie map mod ports and custom maps on the workshop, wave defense mode with 4-10 players where you have to defend against increasingly tough zombies with in map progression like gun and ability upgrades. It goes on sale for 10 bucks or less. SURV1V3 is also a criminally underrated game with up to 4 player co-op through an open world zombie infested place, has a long campaign to play through or a survival mode. Think of it kind of like diet Sanits and Sinners with co-op and slightly less intense crafting mechanics. It's almost never on a good sale for more than a couple bucks and stays solidly at 20-25 USD.
If you like Racing Games Assetto Corsa and Project Cars 2 usually go on sale for pretty cheap as well. AC in particular has a massive modding community and loads of custom tracks, but the UI navigation is pretty ass as you have to use the desktop somewhat. They can be cheap.
L4D2 has a pretty well working VR mod that support co-op, be sure to read the directions to not get VAC banned however, though it's missing a lot of little things which may or may not bother you, such as no manual reloading and UI's not really there. But almost everyone has L4D2 or it's a couple bucks on sale so may be worth a try, might help you decide if something like After the Fall, more built for VR, is worth it.
I tried running AC with OpenComposite (OpenXR) through Content Manager and it's fucked. Any ideas?
>>391920932
I like the Serious Sam VR games. The Serious Sam VR bundle is a good deal during Steam sales. Use Fusion to play all of the campaigns in one game. The main caveat is that a lot of mods don't work in the VR versions.
>>391923315
thanks, i'll give it a look.
>last steamvr datamine had code to send valve thermals, which was also on the Deck dev kits
Yep, Deckard/Index 2 is all but confirmed coming soon, I don't know how people can deny it when the Deck leaked the same way
>>391926098
I'm not sure about "soon". They are only 8 hours into fulfilling Steam Deck orders. With supply chain and manufacturing constraints even with a new headset announced I doubt that it could be feasibly delivered before 2024.
>>391920932
Legendary Tales, maybe? There's Phasmophobia but I heard they broke VR in an update.
>>391926098
Just 3 days till either massive celebrations or massive cope. If it's not being announced there then it's probably not being announced this year.
>>391926803
Phasmo still works in VR when I played last week.
>>391920932
The rec room quests are free and pretty fun actually if you haven't played them yet. Zero caliber has a mildly fun jank pve mode, as does contractors though neither are great. I like valheim with the VR mod.
And while they're not exactly coop, playing rhythm games with friends like Ragnarock or synth riders or best saber or even happy oshare time is fun.

>>391923865
The the L4D2 mod have roomscale? Can you manually throw molotovs and do melee and all that?
>>391926392
You said this already, I don't think them """struggling""" with the Deck would hinder it much, it'll be in exponentially lower demand anyway. I'm more excited about the announcement than getting one right now, and 2024 IS soon for Valve.
>>391926098
just two more weeks sir!
>>391930128
I believe Roomscale is sort of half there, but from what I saw the dev is supposed to to make it fully work in the next update soonish. Manually throwing items doesn't really work yet, you throw them with a trigger, and melee is also mapped to a button while being directed by your head orientation, but aiming with guns is fully decoupled and motion controls are in working order there.
It's definitely in the early phases with some jank, but if everyone already has L4D2 or you can pick it up for a couple bucks on a sale, you should still get some fun out of it with a group. It works with most custom content and mods as well.
>>391933520
I see. I might wait on it then as I don't like aiming with my head and standing in place. How does weapon spread work? I know that in the normal game your spread increases when you are moving fast, but decreases when you stand still, and further increases when you crouch. Are all of those factors still in the game or is it changed to be more like normal VR shooters? What about crouching itself? Can I do that with a button or does it have IK so I can crouch IRL to let my buddies shoot over my head? What about item selection too? Are there holsters or a weapon wheel I can use?
>>391923865
Pavlov has some pretty fun L4D style zombie maps too. The guy who made this one recently released a third one with better objective mechanics. It just goes to show how wrong Valve were about L4D not working in VR.
>>391924042
you should be running OpenVR not XR
>>391935380
You're wrong.
>>391934000
To be clear, you aim with your hands using guns, you can aim entirely independent of your head with them. It's only melee weapons which are still tied to your head orientation. I haven't tried playing with friends because all of mine are too poor for VR, so I don't know how well crouching while shooting over your head would work, but it at least felt like it worked. L4D2 bullet spread is ridiculously tight and most guns are laserbeams compared to how bad bloom can be in modern shooters, so while it's not quite like normal VR shooters, it feels close enough, to me at least. No holsters, you select things using your non-dominant thumbstick's forward and back movement.
Like I said, it's still very early on and if you really value a bunch of the little details like holsters and manual reloads, then After the Fall will probably do you better, but I found it kind of sparse on content and it's definitely well over your 15 euro budget even on a sale.
>>391934346
Completely forgot about those, yeah they're good. Surprisingly lengthy as well, but definitely want a few friends since it can feel pretty quiet with only 1 or two buddies. Valve is such a weird company because in some ways it feels like they get VR on a level nearly no other big company understands, all the little touches in Alyx are amazing, but on others their attitude and design choices are weird. They're delusional if they think L4D2 wouldn't work in VR and stuff like Alyx lacking any kind of proper melee damage, even if you can swat headcrabs away, and moving so ungodly slow feels so odd.

>>391929748
Deadzone only works for so long. Eventually you start losing range of motion and the drift is so bad it goes outside the maximum settable deadzone. On my left stick I have 100% forwards drift and it cannot register any back movement. I deal with it by never going backwards.

I don't have much experience with overclock on anything other than samsung b-die (it is expensive though), I think you should be able to push to 3600 at least.
Cmd2T should go to 1T too.
Dunno if you would be able to push the timings down much to be honest.
Go into BIOS and just set the frequency to 3600 without touching timings for now and see if the system will post (it should), but in case it doesn't pull out the CMOS battery, power cord, and press the power button, that should reset the BIOS.

>>391967809
They've divided up the maps pretty well for the sections of the game. Route is hobo mode, swamp is early game, factory is mid game, and kolhoz is late game.
Hobo mode you can get by with anything, early game you need to have at least bought a better gun and have a grasp on how the game works, mid game you learn about AP and how to manage and prepare for longer raids plus know when to quit, and late game you have to have a very good weapon you're comfortable with and know how to overcome vastly superior forces holed up in secure areas.
